Welcome to Red Lantern Lodge, your family memory maker. From the minute you walk in to our cabin we hope you feel at home. Enjoy a peaceful retreat in this beautifully updated log cabin that sleeps 11, Gorgeous mountain views, and conveniently located with a short drive to the Grandfather Mountain, wineries, Boone, ski slopes, shopping, restaurants, hiking trails, fly fishing, gem mines, rafting and more. The kitchen is fully stocked and the table is perfect for meals and after dinner games. Take your pick of the two covered porches to see nature and the nearby waterfall. Our spacious cabin offers 3 levels each with smart TV's and sitting areas. 4 couches to chill or sleep on too. Check out our reviews!

We stayed to attend an App State football game. The cabin was spacious and had everything we needed. The location was very convenient to Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. Communication with host was excellent. Highly recommend!

Our book club recently did a mountain getaway and this was the perfect spot. The location was great and it was a wonderful house to gather in. The kitchen is really well appointed and there were plenty of televisions hooked up to lots of different streaming services to please everyone. I will note because I did not realize when I booked that the upstairs has no doors so it is more of a lofted area which would be ideal for children but was a little awkward for 5 adults. It was a wonderful weekend and I am so grateful to our wonderful hosts who were so accommodating with early check-in/out and great recommendations on where to eat in the area, super responsive and fabulous.

Located at a good distance between downtown Boone and banner elk, easy to access both places. Sugar mountain as well. Quiet and a beautiful mountain cabin. Porch is great. Lots of room to spread out over the 3 levels. Would rent again. You do have to access stairs to get to the main level. Thanks!

We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. It had everything you would need and more. Location was very convenient for our trip to App State. Owner was very responsive and kindly answered our questions about local hikes and restaurants. If you're looking for a mountain cabin without the treacherous roads to reach it, this is the place. The cabin and grounds are very well kept and clean. I definitely recommend this cabin.

We enjoyed our stay at this property and highly recommend it! Communication with the owners was prompt and friendly, and the kitchen is well-stocked with condiments and other necessities to help you during the stay. We were two families traveling together and the layout is perfect for the kids to be upstairs and the adults on the main floor. One thing we particularly liked about this rental is the kitchen table was large enough for our group of 10 to have dinner together. The fireplace adds to the coziness of the mountain retreat during the cold winter.

It was such a nice house. It was clean, and had everything we needed for four days. The kids had a blast just being outside and playing down in the game room. Speaking to the owner was amazing too, she’s the sweetest and she’s on top of everything.

This cabin worked very well for us. There was room for the three girls (ages 11-20) in the loft, two adult couples on the main floor, and the or son the bachelor in the basement. We were close enough for our son and daughter-in-law to visit and still run Cafe Violette in Blowing Rock. A family friend from Charlotte was able to visit for the day. This was one of the cleanest houses we have ever rented! Parking was good and walking around the loop burned off some of those Thanksgiving calories. All in all this turned out to be a great choice!

This was a girls' adventure weekend for us and we couldn't have had a better cabin. The location was central to all we wanted to do: zip-lining, mountain coaster, hiking, shopping and Grandfather Mountain. We had a mixed group of adults and teenagers and everyone was happy with the cabin. The kitchen was well stocked, everything was clean and the cabin was ready for our arrival. We unfortunately had a lot of rain on Saturday so the covered porch was a true blessing. Thanks for letting us stay!

We had the best time at this cabin! There were 11 in our group and there was plenty of room for everyone! The owner was very nice and gave us all the information we needed before we arrived. We wish we could have stayed longer…..we will absolutely stay here again!

Great Place
My family and I really enjoyed the cabin. It felt warm and it had a cozy vibe. It was clean and stocked with supplies. The cabin was really close to Sugar Mountain with gem mining and the Alpine roller coaster. It was also eight minutes from a Food Lion. Grandfather Mountain was fifteen minutes from the cabin. The view was great.

perfect cabin for family vacation
our family had a lovely time in the cabin, its cozy, clean and spacious. i love the location, secluded and quiet but near everything. a lot of things can be enjoyed like grilling and playing sled around the area. the kitchen is well equipped. we wish we didn't have to leave. the balcony has a gate to the stairs so kids can enjoy it. the owners are very helpful, a text away. everything was perfect, even the snow storm didn't spoil our stay, it made us loved it more. i love the fireplace! the little mountain bear decors! the place is well heated and the washing machine n dryer are heavy duty!

Cozy Christmas Getaway!!
Absolutely loved our stay and this house! Great location, in a cute/quant neighborhood. Everything is just as it appears in the listing and pictures. The decorations for Christmas were a wonderful touch! Will definitely keep this house on the “stay again” list. The downstairs/basement rooms are cold - but the owner let us know this ahead of time (so we had an extra blanket and small heater) and we were very comfortable!
