This place is the only building at the marina, right above the store. It was a beautiful view and suoer convenient. We rented a boat fir a half day abd owners were very accomodating. Would definitely do again.

Our whole family loved staying at the Marina!!! Waking up every morning with the beautiful lake view was so beautiful!! We loved every minute of our stay!! We rented a pontoon from the Marina. The kids went tubing and it was fun to see just how big the lake was. The property owner was very helpful and pleasant to work with!! The cool lake air was refreshing at night, especially having a fire by the lake to wind down with after busy days. The Marina was also close to all the destination spots we wanted to tour, so that was an added bonus! The only thing we regret about our stay was not staying longer! We stayed for 5 nights, but we would have loved to stay longer! Now we know for next time lol.

This place has all the items you need just as you would at home, minus the food 😁. The people at the marina were also friendly and helpful. We are already looking forward to staying here next year! The view of the lake is beautiful and is close to so many attractions!

We were out and about most of the time, so mostly just sleeping, which was excellent. With 3 bedrooms and a large living room sofabed, there was no shortage of space. Wifi was very nice to have. The marina store below is WAY nicer than I ever imagined. The view and access to the lake was amazing. I dont think there is a better location for this price in the hills. I would definitely stay here again!
Only 2 minor dings, low water pressure so showering wasn't great, and extra charge for using washer/dryer. Other than that, it was the best vacation of my life! 😀

This was just perfect for our visit to the area! Everything was just as described in the listing; beautifully clean, with a stocked kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. As shown in the photos, the rental has one wall A/C unit; you will need to use the ceiling fans and possibly leave bedroom doors open to keep cool during the night, depending on the weather.
We enjoyed "people watching" all the boaters from the deck and wading at the small beach. The lake area is beautiful.
The property was convenient to all of the historic area sites.

We stayed here at the tail end of the tourist season, and it was absolutely perfect! We had perfect weather and felt like we had the lake to ourselves. Waking up overlooking the lake every morning was unbeatable. We were close to everything we wanted to do and also spent a day relaxing at the lake and kayaking.
The property was perfect for the three of us with three bedrooms with super comfortable beds! The handicap accessibility was very helpful for the older members of our group as there were no stairs necessary to access the property.
Mackenzie was so friendly and easy to work with and responded so quickly to any requests. The marina below was stocked well with snacks and beverages perfect for when we were wanting to stay in for the evening and relax.
We enjoyed our week beyond expectations and highly recommend this property!

It’s hard to explain the amazing and soul filling experience of waking up in the morning and enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck over looking the beautiful lake while watching the fish jump & the eagles flying overhead, fishing’ for their breakfast.

We loved South Dakota and my family Loved the Marina. We were there during some lighting storms and it was amazing sitting on the porch watching the lighting over the lake. We sat out there at night and listened to the coyotes as well. The house fit our needs perfect. It was right in the center of everything we wanted to see in Dakota which was perfect. Would for sure stay again and highly recommend staying here.

Our group had a wonderful stay at this lakeside property and really enjoyed the amenities of the Marina itself. A great place to stay if you enjoy being on the water and having peace and quiet during the overnight hours. The property owner was very kind, responsive, and accommodating.

This is a great place to stay. We will definitely go back whenever we can. The host is awesome and the accommodations were perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. Only bad thing was we had to leave.

We booked the home above the marina for our visit to Mount Rushmore and the surrounding area. There were 7 adults (mom, dad, kids and one's spouse) of us staying in the house. There was plenty of room for our four night stay and the kitchen was well enough stocked that we were able to cook breakfast and dinners while there. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and there were towels for everyone. Sounds silly but having a towel for everyone was a plus. We often book places that say they sleep 8 and there are only 4 towels. This wasn't a problem here.
When I first booked the stay I was worried that staying at the Marina might be too noisy but it wasn't a problem. It was a beautiful setting and one we enjoyed.
The one thing we noticed which would likely be a problem wherever we chose to stay was the distance to the attractions we wanted to see. It was however an easy drive to Rapid City for groceries. The house was close to Mount Rushmore but a ways from everything else.
There was no cell phone signal where but the wi-fi was fast and allowed us to do whatever we needed while there. Two of the party needed access to internet for work.
I would definitely stay here again if in the area and not hesitate to recommend it to others.

This place is the only one in the area, it is the space above the marina. You are literally on the lake, we loved being walking distance to go fishing, play at the beach, or just enjoy the view. The boats were all reserved, so be sure to reserve them prior to visit if you want them. We were able to rent a jet ski and paddle board and had a fabulous time.
The address on gps doesn’t lead to the location, so it was very difficult at midnight in the dark and no cell service to find the location. Once we did find it, it fulfilled all our basic needs, it was very clean, but many of the folded blankets were still damp so we had to lay them out to dry the first night. All minor inconveniences.

Our stay was great! Beautiful place! I can’t say enough good things about the stay, communication, and accommodations! I wish we’d have allowed down time to just relax and sit on the beach or take out a boat. We will definitely come back!! Thank you for everything!

The property was spacious, warmly decorated, well equipped, and in an exquisite location. The VRBO site photos do not capture the surrounding beauty, serenity, and outdoor recreational activities at the Marina - water sport rentals and a sand beach with swimming access within. 25 yards of the property.
A small challenge for our group of 5 adult females was one bathroom.

Hidden Gem!
This property is a hidden gem! The setting is very unique (right above the marina store) and beautiful right on the lakeside. The activity from the marina/store never bothered us at all and the marina closed each night around 7 and then the entire area was quiet and it felt as if we had the whole end of the lake to ourselves except for a few boats getting pulled out of the water. The national forest swimming beach is steps away and was very clean and user friendly. Easy to walk from unit to beach carrying kayaks and swim gear. The beach was perfect for young children as they could go out quite a ways before it got deep. Owners were very nice and checked in on us several times to see if we needed anything. The deck is huge and great for hanging out to relax and watch the marina activity. Unit was exactly as shown in pictures and well supplied with dishes, linens, paper towels, etc. Our entire family (young children, parents, and grandparents) would highly recommend this property.

Perfect location at a great price
Our family of four (two kids under 5) stayed here for 5 nights, and it was the perfect location for access to everything the Black Hills have to offer. Hiking trails and groceries/restaurants only minutes away, less than 30 mins from Mount Rushmore, Custer, and Bear country USA, and only 2 hrs from the badlands. Was perfect for our family, had everything we needed, and Mackenzie was very responsive to any questions. Our only regret was not staying longer!

Comfortable and Beautiful Scenery
We were very pleased with our stay. The house was clean, furniture was comfortable, and kitchen well-stocked. The balcony was nice to sit and overlook the lake. This home is above a marina office on a lake, so it's easy to rent pontoons, kayaks, and other water toys. There isn't much retail very close to here, though, which is nice if you want to feel an escape. We have AT&T cellphones and didn't have service. But the wifi worked well. And the owners have plenty of maps and guidebooks to help navigate the area. We had a question while we were there about where to find somewhere to print and overnight documents. We texted MacKenzie, and she got right back to us with some suggetions. Very good communications! Overall, a great trip.

Perfect location and so relaxing!
Started our day every morning with a jog/walk along the lake and ended the day with sipping wine while enjoying the lake view. Thank you to MacKenzie for recommending the great routes and sites in the area. Will definitely be back!

Great Northern Fishing right off the boat landing!
The property was quiet, well maintained, kitchen cupboards were sufficiently packed for all manner of cooking, grilling, broiling, boiling, frying, slow cooking etc. The lakefront view was fantastic, the sunrises are brilliant. Great place to stay if spending a few days ice fishing as we did, all creature comforts were minutes away if needed to come off ice. Will definately bring my family during the summer! The property is well lit by flood lights. Clean and cozy.

Perfect trip
The lake house is rustic with stunning views. We enjoyed sipping coffee in the mornings looking out over the steaming lake, eating for for dinner the fish we caught during the day (there was a lot of it), and hiking the mountains around the lake. The weather threw us a curve ball with a heavy snow storm and knocked out power. The owners were very concerned about us and checked in on us personally to make sure we were safe and warm. At one point they even brought in a generator and some heaters. They were more than kind.
