Highly recommended

Excellent hosts, great location 15 mins walk to town, beautiful view, stunning breakfast especially the fresh fruit salad, everything you could hope for plus more. Happily return tomorrow!

Es war sehr schön.

Das Zimmer hatte eine super Aussicht auf den See und die Berge. Die Betten waren toll. Carol und Andy supernett. Die Innenstadt 15min entfernt. Direkt oberhalb ist der Cowhill, den wir bestiegen haben.

Es war sehr hellhörig.

Clean and tidy room as expected. The hosts made the difference to make it a great stay.

Hosts where great, making you feel welcome and very helpful. Marvellous breakfast, and the packed lunches provided made life much easier.

Closer to town may help others, but we enjoyed the walk in and out along the front.

Felt like home

It was conveniently located close to town. The view from both rooms was gorgeous. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and activities.

Room was very clean and comfortable, the views from the front of the property were stunning. Andy and Carole were fantastic hosts, very knowledgable of the area, and very accommodating with a good variety of breakfast to select from. A bonus is they have 2 gorgeous dogs, who we were allowed to meet at the end of our stay!

The walk up the hill was a little challenging but, manageable.

The breakfast had great options and great conversations with host. The room was comfortable and clean. Great view from the room out. Great base location to get out about in the area. Andy and Carole had some great options about what to do in the area. Very friendly and helpful.

Perfectly peaceful!

My stay at Balcarres was perfectly comfortable and peaceful and meeting Carole and Andy made my trip very special. They are lovely people living their dream! Thank you for your hospitality! The view of the loch from my window was simply spectacular! Breakfast highlights were the yummy scrambled eggs and rainbow fruit salad.

We found this accommodation by happenstance and we couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised!

The view was amazing and the hosts were an absolute delight.

Honestly, nothing. It was very clean and comfortable, the breakfasts were generous and tasty, and they offered a good range of choices.

Comfortable and peaceful with great breakfasts and views.

Excellent breakfast - choice, quantity and service. Owners were kind, accommodating and provided plenty of local knowledge and advice. The room was comfortable and had a great view across the loch.

Nothing major, but it's a bit of a hike from town if you're laden with luggage.

Amazing stay 10/10

Andy and Carole were absolutely superb hosts, it was like staying with friends! They pretty much helped us plan our whole trip, day by day - giving us reccomendations and directions. Our room was so cosy and comfortable it was lovely getting snuggled up after a day out exploring. The bathroom had been renovated 3 weeks prior to our arrival and was finished to a very high standard. And the breakfast - wow - out of this world! The views from the front of the accommodation are absolutely breathtaking. Would highly recommend and can't wait to return!

The owners were very friendly, went over and above - e.g. the temperature was 30 degrees in July and we had had trouble sleeping , my husband just happened to say it was due to the heat and they went and bought fans for each of the rooms. They were lovely people, had lots of recommendations for activities and food etc.

The only down point was thay it was atleast a 20min flat walk to town centre, but the weather was amazing so didn't bother us.

Just wonderful stay

The place was very clean, very cosy, shower was very good, breakfast was great. The views outside were unbelievable and so beautiful. Very dog friendly also. Andy and Carole were the most loveliest of hosts and couldn’t be more helpful. But I also have to say that they went much more beyond being great hosts when they, on a wet and dreary morning, took us on a sight seeing tour of the mountains and gift shop. These are very beautiful people. Thank you so so much xxxx

Lovely couple, working hard to welcome guests into their home..breakfast was lovely, good produce, well cooked. Suggestions made for where to visit and eat. Very friendly couple, pleasure to meet them.

Some updating required, but recently taken over and work is planned.

Brilliant

Carol and Andy were so friendly with a great sense of fun and humour, nothing was too much for them. Breakfast was really good. The location is perfect. The views are stunning, the bedroom are very nice. There is a very comfortable guest sitting room which we used everyday. We would definitely stay there again.
