This is a a great condo that is well equipped and even has a closet full of fun beach items you can use. You really feel at home there. It also has a pool and a garage.
Please know that the condo is away from any walkable beaches - you'll have to drive. It is also a bit away from the main tourist area with the restaurants. It is facing trees and grass and there are a lot of mosquitoes - be sure to use the door nets and the fans or pay the price. I'd still return for my next vacation, though!

First the good:
- Location is very good. Convenient and very short walk into Kona town.
- Rooms on the surface are largely as shown in the listing photos, of good size
- There is one bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge and 2 bathrooms
- Kitchen is functional with much of the crockery and cutlery you might need; the choice of a stove top kettle is a little odd but it works fine
- Dishwasher, washing machine and dryer are all present and work well
- Lanai is private and looks over bush land which is very pleasant
- The main living area and main bedroom both have window-mounted air conditioners which are necessary on Kona’s hot and humid days
- Once you learn the passageways, there is a short cut from the garage/parking to the unit
For the unit:
- Bed linen had stains and there was hair on the pillows
- There was mould in main bedroom drawers and very unpleasant smell in the bedroom. Unsure if mould had spread onto the mattress/bed. Would not use the bedroom for health reasons. There is only one bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge.
- Extractor vents in bathrooms and aircon vents in the living/bedroom were black with dust, grime and who knows what else ie had not been cleaned for a very long time.
- Fan blades on two fans in bedroom had not been cleaned for a considerable time and both had gathered black dust.
- The unit had been superficially cleaned. The mould and dishwasher issues are indicative that no deep/proper clean of the apartment has been done in a very long time.
- Main living area has no blinds or curtains.
- The dishwasher, while entirely functional, smells.
For the booking/unit managing agent:
- Avoid renting anything from Vacasa anywhere. They are dishonest about the condition and cleanliness of the unit (including mould). Spent close to 40% of our holiday time chasing Vacasa in trying to resolve cleanliness issue and get fair resolution. Vacasa’s operating model is to ensure that you never speak to the same person twice and no-one cares or takes ownership of an issue – not even serious ones like mould. There is no direct way to reach the local office. The central call centre gives you platitudes and assures you someone will call you back but they never do
- Only with involvement from Booking.com was there an offer of a small refund. After this there was no further support to attain fair compensation from one of their website’s partners. Refund was insufficient relative to time lost and stress and aggravation on hard earned holiday.
We will NEVER use Vacasa again and will tell others to avoid them as well.

The location is good. The room is very comfortable. We can access the room from the car park. The email advice for check-in is easy to understand.
There should be more advice on how to get to the car park in the first place.

Location was good, in middle of Kona. Condo was nicely furnished, clean and good value. Nice balcony.
Just little stuff. Parking was a little far from the condo (in the garage) and hard to find in the dark when we arrived. Had trouble getting the TV in bedroom to work. I suggest that the owners have a phone number to call with questions like these, especially on the day of arrival.
