About this cabin rental
Welcome to Land’s End, our happy place nestled at the edge of the forest. The house is just north of Sister Bay on an inlet of Lake Michigan called Rowleys Bay. This unique setting allows for rest and relaxation and the only noise you hear may be from the laughter of friends and family playing games, grilling, kayaking on Rowleys Bay or the Mink River, biking or gazing at the Milky Way while toasting marshmallows over the fire pit near the marina. We have had many wonderful guests over the past 30 years.
Our log home was built in 1984 with hand-hewn logs from the surrounding woods. As you enter the home with beams and walls covered in wood from an 1820's barn you begin to feel the stresses of everyday life melt away. The soaring 24 ft cathedral ceiling and grand stone fireplace welcome you into the family/dining area and the adjacent wall of windows looks out at the surrounding wilderness where deer, raccoons, squirrels and birds can be viewed from the comfort of the home. We have installed new ductless A/C in the main room on the first floor in 2022 for your comfort. New carpeting has been installed throughout the cabin in June 2024.
If you want a little more entertainment, Sister Bay is less than 10 minutes away where there is a selection of restaurants, bars, a beach, boat and water sport rentals and shops. Don’t forget to get breakfast at Al Johnson’s and see the goats on the roof or end the day with a scoop of ice cream from Door County Ice Cream Factory or Door County Creamery.
The house sleeps 8. It includes 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The master bedroom is on the main floor with a King bed. The bathroom on the main floor has a shower and jacuzzi tub. There are two bedrooms on the second floor; one with a Queen bed and the other with 2 Twin beds. The bathroom upstairs has a bathtub/shower combination. The upstairs loft overlooks the family room and has a view into the forest with a Queen sleeper sofa. The kitchen has typical appliances as well as a microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, blender, crockpot and all the utensils, cookery and plates/glassware you should need. The dining area has a table for 8 and 4 stools under the kitchen peninsula. The family room has a Smart TV with YouTubeTV and WIFI. Heating is electric so each room can be set individually. There is AC for the main area on the first floor and also have ceiling fans and extra fans in the closet. Outside is a patio deck, picnic table, a couple of chairs and a Weber charcoal grill.
The town of Liberty Grove requires us to maintain a register of the names and addresses of all guests over the age of 6 which will be collected prior to your stay.

There were six of us all over 60 and we had a wonderful stay. The house is rustic and woodsy and comfy and homey. All of the things you want for cozy stay. We would absolutely stay again if we came this way.

Great house, great host, would recommend.

The cabin was tucked away in the woods which left us with beautiful views. It had everything we needed (except laundry but a quick trip to sister bay suds was easy to do). It was very warm and our host made sure we had fans and even provided more in the middle of our stay. That was above and beyond!!! We loved our time and would definitely book this house again! Lisa was amazing to work with!

House is clean, comfortable, and charming. Convenient but private location. Nice outdoor space. The kitchen had everything we needed. Fun watching the wildlife, but be cautious about deer when driving at dusk-so many! Enjoyed going to several nearby beaches, including Sand Beach. Great host, easy to reach when I needed anything.

We had an amazing stay at the Land’s End cabin this week. Lisa is an amazing host, full of helpful information, and extremely responsive. The cabin is perfectly located in the heart of Door County but just off the path enough to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The cabin itself was very comfortable and cozy, perfect for our family. Highly recommend this location for your next DC vacation! Thank you Lisa!

The cabin was really atmospheric. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare nice meals. The beds were very comfortable. I even shared the pull out sofa bed with my daughter one night and slept great (I’ve never said that about a sofa bed!) the bathrooms were great and the place was very clean.
The one thing that really impacted our enjoyment, however, were all of the mosquitoes outdoors. We were not able to enjoy the deck or cook on the grill due to the sheer number of the mosquitoes. We had to run from our car to the house when we left and came back each day. I’ve never had this issue in door county. I am not sure the owner can do much about this but I share this for future travelers to be aware of.

Loved this property! So beautifully put together. The history of the place is amazing! Thankful for supplying all the bedding, towels, kitchen appliances, and baking and cooking equipment. They even had extra cleaning supplies around if we needed it.
The best part was definitely the location. Loved being able to walk down the the dock every morning and evening to watch the sun rise and set.
Thank you for your hospitality! We will be planning another return for sure.

We really enjoyed our stay at this awesome cabin. The 1800s barn wood, beams and fireplace make this a unique and cozy place to relax after a day in the outdoors. Door County in the off season was peaceful. Very responsive and friendly host. Highly recommend.

We had such a relaxing weekend at Landsend! The home was perfect for our family of 4 (incl. a 12 & 14 yr old) although the home could have easily accommodated more people. The kids liked having their own rooms. The kitchen was well stocked and it was nice to have some local coffee set out for us to use in the mornings. Toiletries were available in the bathrooms if you forget anything. The house was very clean. Beds and couches were comfortable. Firewood was provided. We really enjoyed curling up by the fire after dinner. It's located in a nice quiet neighborhood. I enjoyed going for a walk in the evening. The fall color was gorgeous! You're only about 10 min. from the Piggly Wiggly grocery store in Sister Bay. We ate at Mink River Basin in Ellison Bay (again about a 10 min drive) for dinner - good food and some games for the kids; had a lively bar area too for adults. Also enjoyed a fish boil at White Gull Inn in Fish Creek. On Sunday we went e-biking from Jacksonport and rode south along Cave Point Dr to Whitefish Dunes State Park (rented through Door County Kayak via doorcountybike.com). The owner was very good about communicating with us. She even let us know that we could check in early if we wanted to. I highly recommend staying here!

Our group of four retired women has been coming to Door County each October for 35+ years. This year we decided to rent a house rather than a condo. Lands End was just the ticket: cozy, clean, and well-maintained. We were also lucky to hit peak color, which was splendid throughout the peninsula, but seemed especially fine in this area near the northern tip.

Dark gloomy and was alot smaller than advertised. No iron. Dirty carpet and rugs.Lamps that flickered or had no plug in nearby so luckily we brought an extension cord with. The best thing about the property was the frig was clean.
It was too rustic and small with no real lighting.
Dark panneling and a bad moldy smell. Far away from anything.Left a day early! Not bright or cheerful...the smell through out the entire house was yuk!

The house temperature was comfortable, the beds were great, the kitchen had everything you need and even those you didn't think you might need. We noticed the deck sliding door handle loose and couldn't find a screwdriver to get tighten it up so we had to leave that loose. I really wish I had known all the great bird feeders. I would have loved to put some out and see if something came. Saw a deer right out the back window in the morning. We had brought a bunch of games. Would have liked to have known you already were well supplied with multiple games there. We had trouble getting a fire going because the gas little pistols, I don't know what to call them, weren't working well and there were no matches that we could find anywhere. The kids had a great time exploring we discovered where the path was and took it along the bridge all the way to the beach. You have an amazing place and we so appreciate it being able to share it with you.

Awesome, cozy, comfy, spacious and very well equipped. The kitchen was easy to cook in and we loved the Weber grill. The time on the back deck was fabulous and very delightful. We loved our afternoons on the deck after our days on the peninsula. Absolutely heavenly!

Cabin was perfect for a week with family and grandparents. Clean and well stocked kitchen, good ol’ Weber grill. There is a trail to the sand beach behind the cabin, and the bakery in Rowley’s Bay is good for a quick coffee and sweet in the morning. We did not miss having a fire pit as we were busy running around the north end of the Door County Peninsula.

We had a great time at this property. Check in was very easy and the house was spotless and cozy. It has the best fireplace for the blustery, yet beautiful weekend. Great location that was a little tucked away but close enough to see what we wanted to. Great kitchen and comfy beds. Deer right outside the back deck. We had a wonderful time!!

Clean, comfortable, well organized kitchen, with everything we needed to cook the meals we planned. Piggly Wiggly is 10 minutes away for supplies. Everything was spectacular, I honestly couldn't recommend any changes for improvement. The house is unbelievably homey, well kept, and Lisa has some amazing decor if you pay attention (check out the amazing trunks she has in use around the house... Amazing!) I am in love with the fireplace. Deer appeared in the morning and I loved seeing all the wildlife. It was worth every penny.
