On our Southern Tour of western Carolinas and upper Georgias this was our favorite stay and fortunately our longest! The whole place was extremely nice (bed, bathroom, kitchen) and the deck was spectacular. Loved the mountain views and only wish was we could have stayed forever.
Would definitely book this again when we come back to Maggie Valley.

The pictures of this property can never truly describe the beauty of the surrounding mountains and valley at Maggie Valley.
Seeing the mist in the valley in the morning took our breath away and made us very happy that we found this location.
Local amenities were plentiful with a lot to do and see within a short distance of the property.
The lodging itself was very comfortable and fully equipped with anything one might need during a stay. It has the function of a well appointed hotel but with the comfort and charm of a homey apartment.
I highly recommend this property.

Our stay was awesome! The Holden's are wonderful hosts who go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable and have the best vacation possible! The suite was very clean, neat and fully stocked with everything you can possibly need. We were there for a 5 day stay and were totally pleased with everything! I highly recommend this suite to anyone looking for a quiet getaway with absolutely amazing views! You will have no regrets! Thank you Stan and Diane for making our stay there the best it could possibly be!

We loved this place-- owners are sweet people and provided all sorts of little extras that made you feel like you mattered. A gorgeous setting, central location for various activities in the Smokies, we will definitely want to return and recommend this accomodation fully to everyone else!

This little apartment is a wonderful get a way. Nice and clean with all you need. The fireplace was not working because of a pilot light being on back order. It was suppose to be in. It did not bother us we never got cold. The owners are very nice. We hope to come back again.

Our Best VRBO experience, yet!
My husband and I stayed at this property for our 1 year anniversary. It was amazing! The view was spectacular, the room was comfortable and clean, and the hosts were so sweet! The pictures do not do this place justice - it’s even more beautiful in person. We will definitely be returning!

The Holden suite is a great location for touring around the Maggie Valley area. The decor is simply charming and has everything you could possibly need for a short get-away or longer visit. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. Lots of books and information on the area and key touring spots. This suite is located in the basement of their home and offers privacy along with an awesome view from the spacious deck right outside the suite. The ability to grill is a plus for folks who like to manage their own meals (charcoal and lighter fluid provided!). The sunrise is just spectacular here! Highly recommend!

We returned to the Smokey Mountains to ride motorcycles and sit on this deck! The views, the privacy, the central location, and the king size bed were great reasons to return to this suite. The dinner at Frankie's was yummy, We also lunched in charming Waynesville. You gotta see the Wheels Through Time Museum as well. Cooking on the charcoal grill that Stan and Diane provided, (they even had the charcoal!), was a treat as well. The Holdens are terrific hosts that give you local info and the space you need to relax. We're coming back!

Coming to the area for both business and leisure, we wanted something different from the bustle of a hotel room. We found ourselves overwhelmed by the find in this rental. The views are spectacular, the location very central to the events and attractions we were there for, and the suite itself was very neat, inviting, and roomy. Many details of the area were offered by the Holdens, who were more than welcoming; going the extra mile to make the stay memorable, they were the perfect hosts. Welook forward to coming back.

My husband and I found this charming place and stayed at least a week for three years in a row during the late fall. Leaves had turned and even had snow and it remained cozy and wonderful. Life has prevented us from returning until 2014 but can't wait to return. It is quiet and gives us a chance to totally unwind before the December holidays. The owners are extremely nice, accommodating and provide a list of restaurants they recommend - not just a long list of all the restaurants. Also being a foodie, we always enjoyed talking with the owners about our experiences at various restaurants so they can make sure the list is still good. Come stay - but not when we want to!

A home from home up a big hill
On arrival we were welcomed by Stan and Diane and shown the suite which was immaculate, the cleanliness is a tribute to hard work done to present a suite to a very high standard. What is provided for your comfort, enjoyment and entertainment,TV DVD Internet access and more area information leaflets than you will have time to read. What could be nicer than opening one eye in the morning a looking out the mountain scenery, opening both eyes.Breakfast at the table on the deck to start the day or a beer while rocking in the chair is a nice way to end the day.The only things you need to take is food for breakfast and a camera,we saw chipmunks, rabbits and lots of birds around the house. If you are visiting Maggie Valley get in touch with Stan and Diane. It was a pity we could not stay longer than we did but would be very happy to return.
Sorry I could not remember the dates we stayed.

Can't wait to return!
The pictures don't lie! Wake up to the birds singing as you look out over the Smokies from your king size bed. From the lovely linens to the coffee in the cupboard, the Holdens have thought of it all. Videos, books and Sat TV are here if you can't tear yourself away from the spectacular views. The rocking chairs on the porch w/ one of the newest Parker mysteries that were supplied were my favorite things. Maggie Valley is truly lovely and you must not miss fried catfish at Salty Dogs that's 5 min. from the house. Our motorcyles were the way to see this area, and Stan and Diane have made books of the destination options that are close. Don't pay more for less anywhere else - we're comin' back!

SUITE IS UNDER OWNER'S MAIN LIVING QUARTERS
We felt we needed to advise anyone who is sensitive to noises above them, that we could hear every footstep above us, & we used a noisemaker & earplugs. I have advised the owner, so they may make some changes, but please be advised that their main living area is above the suite & they have wood floors above (no doubt). When she checked us into the suite, she advised us it was soundproofed -- this was simply NOT the truth & it affected our sleep quite alot. We thought we were getting a nice private condo. They did make it clear on their site AFTER we complained, that they are above the suite. The view was so beautiful, but we did not have what we thought would be a nice private and quiet suite for our money spent on the entire trip. Although we were not going to say anything, we felt we owed future visitors that they should be aware that they will have owners living right over the suite. If we had known they are overhead we would have gladly paid several hundred more dollars for a stand-alone rental. As stated, they have now made it clearer on their web-site that they are above the suite, so that may help others in deciding to rent or not; however, we felt we needed to make it clear for other's spending a good deal of vacation dollars & want a different situation on their vacation that this might help. Maybe if they walk about in stocking feet it will greatly improve. We just wanted to help others & even though there were lots of excellent reviews, we were very very surprised based on the reviews, after the first night. I'm sure they will try & be much more quiet in the future, so it may work out for future renters, but it is not a stand alone private cottage or condo as we thought we were getting with privacy & quiet.

Excellent
We could not of ask asked for a more pleasant get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life. A beautiful view and the privacy that was extended to us was like being in your own home.
The suite is clean and roomy for two.
Convient to many venues. You will enjoy the view as you sit out on the deck and enjoy your favorite beverage and watch the sun go down and the lights come on from the mountains across the valley.

Mountain Suite Maggie Valley
A wonderful place to stay. Numerous amenities and stunning views. It was similar to staying in a friends house. We were made very welcome but also had our privacy. When we visit again we would definitely stay here.
Definitely thumbs up on this one!

Home away from home
Often when you see a photograph of a beautiful view the reality can be different. Not at the Holden suite, what you see is what you get. Spectacular view, peace and serenity, immaculate suite extremely well appointed and wonderful thoughtful hosts. We would return in a heartbeat.
Thank you Stan and Diane

Suite with great views
We were guest in this wonderful suite for a week in August and enjoyed it so much even though it rained most of the week! We both needed the time for some much needed R & R and we got just that. The deck was a great place to relax with a good book and either a glass of iced tea or a cup of hot tea and just savor the time you have in such a serene setting or to have your morning coffee and enjoy your quiet time. WE enjoyed watching the hummingbirds, they are such an amazing bird. If you want a quiet, private, clean place to stay with thoughtful, gracious hosts that provides everything in the suite down to bath robes to make your stay wonderful, this is just the place!
Thank you! Stan and Diane for making us feel at home and we hope to stay with you again in the spring.

Perfect!!!
This studio suite is perfect!!! This suite has a wonderful view of the mountains and a lovely porch to sit and relax while watching the many hummingbirds. Upon entering there was a comfy king size bed with a down comforter. There was also an extra comfy sofa and chair that sat right in front of the gas logs, from here you could sit and watch television with many channels to choose from or pick a movie from the movie library. If you don't feel like a movie there were several books and multiple game board. There was also a full kitchen with a table and chairs. One of the things I liked the most was the hospitality. The owners thought of everything! They were there to welcome you and show you around the suite but after the tour you were completely alone even though you knew if you needed anything they would be there. Wonderful place to stay!!!

PEACE, QUIET AND LOVELY SCENERY
It has been almost a year since our stay in the Holden Suite and although we plan to go south in 2008, we have lasting memories of a peaceful and stress free week in the beautiful mountains of Maggie Valley. This suite is perfectly and completely equipped to walk in and relax. It was as if we had prepared it ourselves! We had complete privacy and seclusion, but the Holdens were a phone call away if we needed anything at all. Our next trip back to NC will be to stay here. Why would we even think of anywhere else!
