Convenient and comfortable at reasonable price

Clean and comfortable place, close enough for an easy walk into Kalmar old city. Breakfast was nice.

Rooms were quite small but comfortable, some noise through walls from neighbors TV

The place was average with a simple breakfast included

Flies entered one of the rooms that we had booked and it was difficult to reach staff at night time to address the issue.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff

The location is close to the city centre, walking distance. Room was smaller than expected, but just ok, while bathroom was bigger than expected. The breakfast was average, with a local bread, salamies, cheese, etc.. and I liked the taste. The staff was super nice and helpful.

Would be nice to have a little fridge in the room.

Very nice staff, clean rooms and facilities, guest kitchen.

While there is a wide and appealing choice for meat-eaters for breakfast, vegans are limited to bread, marmalade and some vegetables. Some days perhaps vegan yoghurt. At least one vegan spread would be highly appreciated, and I would o nicely along with the hotel's declared efforts for sustainability.

Good hotel, but mattress need to be upgraded to thicker version.

We had a comfort room, which is very spacious. Quiet area, free parking, easy walk to centre. Bathroom was also spacious, but quite simple. The shower was powerful. The room also had a sofa.

First night we slept very poor due to very thin mattrass (3 cm only) on a bed with spirals (could feel them whole night). We complained, and the next night we got a much thicker good mattress. Having the real mattress we had a good night sleep. Such a mattrass should be standard, especially in the comfort rooms.

Exceptional

I am not tourist 🙂 . I am Traveler . Sometimes with bike, sometimes with my backpack . All I need it's a smile , a good Wellcome and a clean bed to sleep. At Svanen I get everything I expected 🙂 . Thanks for everything and for sure I will come again . Best regards and all the best 🙂. Gabriel.

Passable

Good location; clean room

Doors locked at 9pm, and we received no forewarning. We arrived at 9:30 pm. Luckily, a maid helped us and we got into our room

Good hotel but too pricy

Comfortable beds, great breakfast. Free parking for guests

The price is too high. That was the most expensive place to stay comparing to all other cities we travelled to in Sweden and Denmark

Met our needs.

Beautiful setting located near water, and short walking distance (15min) to central Kalmar. Accommodating staff.

First room wasn't super clean and smelled like sweat, however - fortunately there was another comparable room available, and the staff were very accommodating to switch our room.

Good simple hotel with nice service people there but bad odour in the bath room...

In generally a good, simple hotel.

Bad odour in the bath room from waste water outlets. It was really not nice!

Great hotel, would go there again!!

Everything was great. Super duper friendly staff, great breakfast. The location to the ocean is great, it's only a 5 minute walk to the water where I cooked my dinner and it was beautiful. I could store my bike in a safe place over night, which is the most important thing for me on travels and it worked out fantastically. Thanks! :)

Nice clean rooms with private toilet. A bit small, but good value for the money.

Nice clean rooms. Private toilet, although extremely small. Even though the room didn't have a private shower there were plenty just across the corridor. Breakfast was also good and fresh, although there were no hot meals like bacon, pancakes or scrambled eggs.

Sound isolation between the rooms was very bad, you could basically hear everything. Also the room was a bit too hot (it was a warm night). Room and especially the toilet was small, but expected for a hostel at this low cost.

Clean, straightforward and efficient place at good location; nice breakfast. Good rooms. Good value for money.

Make sure that your room is not next to the public shower, due to never-ending door banging and not next to the hotel entrance, as you will be entertained the whole night (it is the smokers corner ....). It seems housekeeping is not working over weekends?

A+ staff!

The staff were wonderful and cordial. We got a surprise upgrade upon checking in, at no extra cost. Checking in and out was a breeze. We were made to feel very welcome. The beds were clean and comfy. Breakfast was delicious and there was variety.

A lovely place to stay; should I find myseelf in Kalmar again, this will be my first choice.

Although shower was in a shared room, it was nice that there was an en-suite toilet! Bed was so comfortable, that I slept better than i usually do at home. Breakfast provided, was a lovely start to the day.

One very subtle issue which I discussed with the receptionist; it was helpful to have the WiFi code in the bedroom, but it would be more helpful if the network name could also be provided - there were roundly 10 networks all with the Hotel's name, and it was a guess to work out which was the right one to use. Quite frustrating.
