About this house rental

Come enjoy our protected cove for swimming in the crystal clear, cool Lake Winnipesaukee waters! Hang out on the beach by the fire pit, base yourself at this paradise for great salmon/trout fishing, or work from a quiet island paradise for a week away from the office. This 5 year new house has an open concept island living - built for entertaining and feeding your family on those days when the weather pushes you indoors. A large front deck, covered side deck with grill and fireplace, and a bunkhouse with additional deck space provides great platforms to enjoy the outdoors. In the back, there is a large grassy yard for grass-based enjoyment. As far as accommodations... a lakefront master bedroom with master bath, large kitchen/living area with dining for 10, full bathroom, guest bedroom with personal entrance on main floor. A loft area with half bath, queen size bed, a futon, and a bunkroom with 2 queens and 1 twin enable you to keep your guests and children all sleeping comfortably! Bear Island also sports many walking/running trails where you can enjoy seeing the many deer and other wildlife that Bear Island supports. This property is truly an Island Paradise!

My two daughters and her families joined Mimi and Bubba at this hideaway at the end of the cove for a very enjoyable week. There were fires, kayaking, boating, skiing, tubing, cookouts, and plenty of s'mores. Highlight for the young ones was the frog pond nearby. Highlight for the adults were the trails that ran nearby. Plenty of room in the cottage to spread out. Three bathrooms and an outhouse was a great benefit. Great week!

We had a great relaxing week here, and the house was perfect for our group! We had three kiddos with us: a 3 year old, a 2 year old, and a 6-month old. There was so much to do around the house, and a lot of the gear we needed (pack + play, feeding chair, kid's water toys) were already there! We loved paddling around the little cove in the canoe and stand-up paddle boards, playing on the lake shore, and exploring the island trails. We had no problems finding the place or docking our rental boat, and the calm cove and long dock made it quite easy to get in and out. Its boat only access - so heavy weather can make the house inaccessible from the shore; so budget flexibility around your start and end dates in case of weather. We loved it and will definitely be back!

Exceptional experience at this island retreat! Everything imaginable was provided, including kayaks, rowboats, canoes, linens, towels, and a well stocked kitchen. The location was ideal, a 15 minute boat ride to Center Harbor or Weirs Beach. The house sits on a cul-de-sac like cove where boat traffic and wind are kept to a minimum, perfect for kids to explore and swim. An enclosed fireplace and outdoor fire pit provided plenty of night time entertainment. The loft provides plenty of beds, perfect for kids, while two bedrooms downstairs are great for adults. There is a large deck with ample seating out front. We have stayed at various houses around Winnipesaukee and this is an amazing gem that we hope to visit again!
