The cabin is dark, old, and worn. there has been little to no upkeep. The grass and weeds are overgrown. There has been ZERO landscaping done to make property appealing. It looks old and abandon. Entry into the home was quick and easy. Code was long but it worked on first try. The cabin smelt stale and musty like no one had used the home in awhile. There are portable air conditioners in every room but none where on and we arrived on an 80 degree day. Once inside and using the home it became clear to me and my family that this cabin was not clean. The cabinets in the bathroom were covered in grime. There was pee stains dripping down the side of the toilet. In the downstairs bathroom there are cracks in the wall covered in tape and the stand up shower is covered in black mold. Kitchen cabinets felt sticky with thick grime. The drawer under the stove was filled with crumbs. Anything I planned to use I had to wash thoroughly before using. The fridge was also dirty. The dust and cobwebs collected on ceiling light fixtures and ceiling fans through the home was so thick. Not only was cabin dirty but there is no beach access. It is a marsh covered lake front view. The advertised Jetted tub does not work. Kids were disappointed. I would suggest if you have an eye for detai, I would not recommend staying here.

The master bedroom is amazing! Lots of hot water. The door number code was a little dodgy but the staff at vacasa assisted right away. Cleaning staff was nice and gracious to follow up and make sure we got in okay. There are large loud dogs next door but they only bark when their owner gets home from work in the late afternoon. Great cabin getaway!!

The house was beautiful and super cozy! The only issues we had inside was with the air conditioner in one of the bedrooms and the bath jets wouldn’t work. In terms of outside we were super disappointed.
There is absolutely no beach whatsoever and the dock to get into the lake was half submerged in water so we weren’t able to actually get in the lake- we had to go to a nearby state park. The grass looked like it was just moved so grass stuck all over our feet and made a mess. The outside furniture was covered in mowed grass. The grill was almost out of gas. Overall it’s a nice place but the listing needs to be updated as it is definitely not accurate.

We have stayed at many rentals and this is one of the worst ever. The house is really more of a cabin, that has not had even minimal maintenance. Broken windows, Missing blinds, Mold in the bathroom, dirt and dust absolutely everywhere. The upper blinds are non-functional, And in the afternoon, the sun beats in so badly that the house temperature soared into the upper 90s; Making it uninhabitable in the afternoons. Note this is a Vacasa property, and we submitted tickets thru them and VRBO. After several calls and messages, we did not receive even a single response.
It’s rare that I would ever leave a review and certainly not an unfairly negative one, However, this needs to be said for the benefit of other vacationers.
DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE!!!
Really it should be taken off the market until substantial repairs and cleanings can be performed.

We had a wonderful stay for our family trip! Perfectly located on the lake with beautiful windows of the view. Would definitely stay again.

This is a “lived-in” rustic log cabin and was perfect for our group of fishermen. Hanging out in the great room in the evenings was ideal. Just two suggestions -the can opener is missing a gear and the back up manual can opener is bent and bends too easily to function. We also look forward to evenings at the fire pit, but the lawn was uncut 1 to 2 feet tall -a mess and made using the fire pit and waterfront impossible.

Kismet was quite nice and was in a very good location for those who want to fish and enjoy Lake Champlain. Close to boat launches, gas, and a convenience store. House is comfortable and has great views of the Lake.

The house is beautiful and we had a great weekend here. Unfortunately, there was mouse poop in the silverware drawers. I have reached out to vacasa with no response.

Nice cabin by the lake. Overall it met our needs . A bit secluded & distant from stores & restaurants. Cleaning needs improvement

The location was great for our purposes. House was nice other than the main floor bathroom. Was not in good condition. The shower leaked everywhere including into the nearby bedroom. Desperately needs an upgrade in that area. Upstairs bedroom was beautiful!
4.0 / 5.0
The house is very spacious, comfortable, well equipped, beautiful location, great views of the water.
Cons:
Main floor bathroom need to be updated, the shower needs to be replaced.
Dock needs to be fixed, it was submerged & unusable.
4.0 / 5.0
The positives: really cool house and we just loved the master bedroom and bathroom. The soaking tub was an amazing treat! The property was quite large and our dogs had a blast.
Slight negatives: the grill and dishwasher doesn’t work. The outdoor umbrella on the picnic table was broken too. These aren’t dealbreakers and we adjusted our plans. However, it would have been helpful to be given a heads up ahead of time that way we can prepare. Bring plastic utensils, paper plates etc. - the closest market was a decent drive away.

Location was nice and quiet. Disappointing that the dock and kayaks were not out yet.

Had a great week at “It’s Kismet” on North Hero.. spring fishing on Lake Champlain. The house was in a great location, close to three boat launches, right on the Auberg Passage. “It’s Kismet” was just as described… worked out very well for our four fishermen. We will definitely consider renting this property again in the future.

The house was beautiful on the inside and was closer to the water then we expected. Located on a nice private road, just don’t accidentally drive past the house to the end because you will be greatest by an angry women who clearly doesn’t like “renters”. The house was very well stocked with everything you should need. The living room furniture could use some updating and the shower/jet tub in the master didn’t work but the beautiful bed and view made up for it. Don’t plan to grill anything because the grill has one working burner.
3.0 / 5.0
We liked the location for this cabin. However, it wasn’t cleaned thoroughly .. deck had some sticky stuff from previous stays. Grill doesn’t work. Wood stove is just a show piece. Upon complaining to the owner, they mentioned that they will send some one to clean but never arrived. Neighbors dogs could be annoying as they were barking at us whenever we were out.

10 out of ten, my only suggestion is a house number marker at end of the driveway. super nice place!
4.0 / 5.0
The view is beautiful, and the location very quiet. There is a wonderful deck looking towards the lake. We also were happy with the air conditioners to keep it cool on the inside. We were surprised at the 2 broken chairs on the back deck, and that there was no shower connected in the in the main bathroom just a tub, upstairs.
5.0 / 5.0
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in North Hero! The house was unique and well stocked of necessities - toiletries, linens, dish and hand soap, detergent, etc. The lake views were beautiful. Many locally owned shops and restaurants 10-30 minutes away to choose from. The neighborhood is very quiet. The only negatives I can think of is that there’s only one shower, and that bathroom needs some work (caulk is discolored, old water damage on the wall). Like someone else mentioned, the large jetted tub can only be filled 6-8” or so. Otherwise, it was perfect! We loved our vacation home.
4.0 / 5.0
House was in a great location, quiet and secluded. Tried several times to contact owner/managers of the property regarding dock and ability to moor a fishing boat. Never received a response. This was offset somewhat by beautiful sunsets and cozy interior.
4.0 / 5.0
We enjoyed the house and the views were perfect. It was a great getaway! Spacious rooms, good kitchen, ample space for everyone. The draw back was that there was only one shower.

Positives:
The master bedroom is the feature room of the house, complete with a view to the lake.
All light switches were labeled - brilliant
Big property-semi private. Neighbors about 50 yards away on both sides. Located on a dead end road.
Easy access into the lake for kayaking or boating.
Air conditioners in many rooms.
TVs in 2 bedrooms and living room.
Internet is great.
Communication was great.
Negatives:
The kitchen needs attention to the details.
Most of the frying pans were unusable because they were beyond dirty or ruined. Most of them you wouldn't want to cook food in. We scrubbed one to use. They are scorched and burned, misused for their purpose, I'm sure, and need to be thrown out. Several pots were dirty or greasy. Toaster oven was greasy as was some of the silverware. We washed everything before we used it and went out and bought a frying pan. The core dishes and glassware were fine.
Kitchen needed more cooking utensils and touches like resealable bags, saranwrap, aluminum foil, spices, things like that.
Vacations center around great meals. A well appointed, immaculate kitchen needs to be a focus for us.
There's very limited seating in the living room. We brought folding chairs.
Water leaked under the sun room door during a moderate rain.
With a little attention this place would be perfect for a small group. We were 4 adults and filled it. The bird watching was amazing. If you're a sun worshiper you'll love it, lots of usable outdoor space and lots of glass to let light in. Outdoors you get some road noise from across the lake but inside it's very quiet.
It's an all wood interior from floor to ceiling, very nice.
Plenty of towels and linens.
Plenty of ceiling fans.
Bathrooms are small but serviceable.
Extras if you look around: blankets, iron, soaps, cleaning supplies.
All in all we'd stay again but hope they make the improvements in the kitchen.

beautiful house
Our family enjoyed the comfort, cleanliness and view of the house. Its in a quiet area and the lake can be seen from most parts of the house and enjoyed while indoors and out. The water was too shallow for swimming but we enjoyed launching our kayak from the shore.

Beautiful and relaxing trip
First of all, I wish there was a 4.5 star option for the overall rating. I feel like 4 is being overly critical. The property is lovely. A nice big yard facing the lake, a small dock, amazing sunsets and a fire pit. We picked this property because it was in a quiet, calm area…as we wanted a quiet calm vacation. If one was looking for excitement and lots of options for entertainment (other than the water), this wouldn’t be the best choice. For us, it was perfect. We rented a Stand Up Paddleboard, and used it every day. Our dog loved the yard and the water. The outdoor shower was a great addition, too!
The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were super comfortable. It was unfortunate that the hot water tank only fills the tub a foot or so before it runs out of hot water. And it would have been nice to know that while it is right on the water, it’s not really a spot for swimming…we didn’t see a single other person in the water other than on SUPs or boats.
While we were there, we had two issues. We let management know, and they sent someone out right away. The person who came over to check out the issues was kind, caring, patient with my dog and daughter, and we talked about the area and solutions to the issues for a longer time than I’d expect someone to spend!
Overall, if a quiet, relaxing vacation and a beautiful location is what you are looking for, this property is a great choice!

We love the house and placement of it. House is located in great spot at the lake where we can easily park our boats ( two 19' tracker deep v boats) by the dock which is like 100' of the house. So for us fishermans all was GREAT. House is very clean, all supplies ware there more then enough.Highly recommended, we stayed in couple houses around the lake and this is really in our top 5. Very nice neighbors very friendly. We definitely want to come back soon. Enjoy.

Much needed respite.
The cabin is wonderful - it’s stocked with everything you need for an awesome lakeside getaway! The picnic table was a great spot for outdoor meals and the hammock had a perfect view of every beautiful sunset. It definitely felt like each detail was well thought-out by the owner. We loved that it also had a dishwasher, washer and dryer which allowed us to spend more time enjoying the outdoors and less time cleaning up. The air-conditioning in every room made the super hot days more bearable. We are definitely looking forward to coming back again and making this spot a regular destination to bring friends and family.
