About this house rental
This 19th century house has been fully remodeled. The historic charm comes from the original wood trim and oak woodwork. There is a companion house on the lot, Chassell House #1 (HA 9268747) that sleeps 7.
Great for all seasons and super convenient for enjoying local activities - Newly remodeled and decorated to be a welcoming retreat for travelers to Chassell or nearby Houghton and Michigan Tech. The Chassell Township Park, trails, the annual strawberry festival are all just a few steps from the front porch.
The Chassell Houses are perfect for boating/fishing, snowmobiling and ski vacations.
The houses are across from the Chassell Centennial Park at Pike Bay, a sheltered cove off the South end of Portage Lake. The park has a boat launch and fishing pier.
Located on Hwy 41, the Chassell Houses are easy to find. There is easy access and parking for trailers. In summer, parking is at the back door entrance. In winter, parking is on the side lawn and a plow service clears the snow from the parking area.
The fully equipped kitchen has what you need to prepare meals and dine-in. There is a convention oven/microwave, gas stove, frig with ice maker, Keurig coffee maker, and toaster. The dining table seats four.
The house has WiFi internet and Alexa is there too to keep you connected.
The house has 2 bedrooms upstairs. One has a queen sized bed, the other has a full sized bed. Both rooms have ceiling fans. All of the beds are made up with cozy cotton flannel sheets and cotton comforters. The bedding contains no wool or feathers. The pillows are polyester-filled. There is a full-sized washer and dryer in the larger bedroom.
The house has a full bathroom with tub/shower. Towels, bath mat, toilet tissue, and basic soaps are provided. The house has new forced air furnace and boiler for hot water.
Thank you for considering this property and hope you give us the opportunity to welcome you as our guest.

The house was very clean, it had plenty of towels, kitchen supplies and an over all home feeling.
The only thing I would have liked to have had was more than two seats in the living room to watch TV and some kind of dresser to put your clothes in. It was decorated very cute and I loved all the little notes telling you how to turn things on or what switches did.
The owner was very accommodating to our late flight out and since she had availability allowed is a late afternoon checkout.

Beautiful house which I remember during my days of living in Chassell at the Sig Rho house back in the early 90's. We stayed with friends in the adjoining property so there were no conflicts, neighbors were respectful and quiet. Had dinner several times on the back deck. Plan on being back for future visits to the area.

The owner provided easy instructions for checkin and out. All needs were exceeded by accommodations at propert. Little notes throughout property to eliminate any confusion of how to use the many amenities at the property. If you are looking for quiet, private, fully furnished, charming fully restored house, this is the place to rent. We were here on very busy graduation weekend and wanted to be able to have a spot to relax away from all the people and cook food and eat and play games gathered together… this was beyond expectations.

We loved our stay here, the owner has added so many thoughtful touches, such as kitchen gadgets, washer/dryer, free WiFi, phone chargers, large tv with all of the latest apps. We loved that Chassell beach was right across the street and we had the beach to ourselves. There’s a little pasty/ice cream shop a block away. The kids enjoyed walking there to get ice cream and waking along the beautiful trail along the lake. I have family in Chassell and Houghton and this location was perfect for visiting both. Linens and towels were nice quality and everything was spotless. It was cozy and comfortable, I highly recommend!👍🏼👍🏼
