From the looks of the advertisement I thought we were getting a great deal. Once we arrived, NO parking place, shady area and we all felt a little insecure, back door was unlocked, floors were cracked, uneven and the front door is code entry. We were uneasy at night which made it hard to sleep. I lost almost 600 dollars because we left 2 days early, the next time I go on vacation.....you can bet I'll be more aware of what and where Im staying AND another issue, could not see them full address until I paid in full. Very disappointed

Disappointed
We got to the home about 8pm. Checked the place to make sure it was clean. Well we got settled in. Found food & about 10pm was cleaning up from eating. My mother killed roach on the counter. She then called the owner telling them we will not be staying because we don't want to bring bugs home. The man & his wife began to be rude to my mother, telling her we probably brought them from home, how dare she call late at night to boo who about bugs & to stop being a drama queen. Well at that time a very big roach ran across the floor at me!! We drove 13 hours to stay somewhere clean & safe. This home is not one of them!! I'm sorry to say this but this home has raoches!! By the time we left it was 11:30pm. We had to found a hotel for the night & the owners said we would not be getting our money back! This is very sad because this was a gift to my sister for her 18th birthday & graduation. Very very disappointing!!

Nice Clean Home in the Hood
The house itself was clean. The downside of the house is that there are two showers but you can only use one at a time or you won’t have any hot water and if there is someone in the other unit next door using the shower you won’t have hot water or water pressure. The house is also in the hood. This isn’t an opinion it’s a fact. Every single one of my Uber drivers made a comment about how we were staying in the hood and to be very careful at night. I did not have any issues with the residents in the neighborhood but some might not feel comfortable staying there. This was the first time for me to visit New Orleans so I did not know the area at all. Next time I will definitely pay the additional money to stay in the French quarter.

Great place convenient to everything. Area not too great looking but safe. Plenty of room, well taken care of. Couple of problems on arrival which were taken care of immediately. Excellent host and hostess!

Mardi Gras Getaway
The price wasn’t bad. The area was ok, but the rooster/chicken woke us up every morning. The house is a nice size, but it needs a little updating and a little more cleaning. There was a small tv on the mantle in the living room that we did not watch. No tv in either bedroom which would make things better. We were allowed a later check out no charge (Thanks). Please just clean the kitchen a bit and change tablecloth at least, we were as little scared to put out things in the fridge because it just looked a little bad. Overall it wasn’t so bad. It was ok for out stay we were there for Mardi Gras so we basically only slept a few hours

Nice for the price...
Host was very accommodating and friendly.
The bed was comfy. Close to the French Quarter. Cock a doodle do may wake you up in the morning. It's on street parking, so that could be a challenge, but you can park in the grassy median. The driveway next to the house is for the barbershop next door.

One of the best experience we could’ve had. Especially with the communication with the property owner they were very kind and generous. I definitely recommend staying here and I’ll definitely come back.

Nice place, very old building but fresh, pleasant and inviting. No problem whatsoever with owner. Very nice couple and generous. The biggest problem has nothing to do with accommodations at all, BUT there apparently are wild roosters roaming the neighborhood which are very annoying, Crowing at all hours of the night. You definitely need some white noise if you want a good night’s sleep. Again, owner has no control over this, just a heads up.

Great place for the money
The property was clean, spacious, and had plenty of room. St Roch Market is walking distance and nothing is very far away. Response to a minor problem was within an hour and fixed. Would use this listing and recommend for those wanting plenty of room.

Nice
The house is old but well maintained easily accommodates 6 people, you can park up front, the neighborhood is run down but safe, bus service is available up front, uber to Frenchman costs about 10 dollars. Supermarket is right front, we walked to bourbon street in 30 mins took a uber back. Backyard has a bbq and small patio Nice place to spend the new years.

Spacious but needs improvements
The house has a lot of room for a group and is fully stocked with essentials! But it has a distinct mildewy smell in each room. I know its an older house but it felt and smelled damp perhaps the house needs to be dried out prior to being occupied. There was some water leakage in the back room above the nightstand, we realized this when we came back and our computer was soaked. Also the front door keypad is very tempermental and would work sometimes and other times we were out side for 30 minutes because it would malfunction. The lock system also seemed unsecure and had been tampered with prior to us arriving, made us a little uneasy about it holding up if pushed on hard enough. The neighborhood is a little rough so I wouldn't recommend for girl group or kids. But the distance from downtown was superb.
