The barn conversion was comfortable and clean. It was however, more difficult to get to than normal, navigating down single lane roads. We sent an inquiry to the landlord and failed to receive a response, which was disappointing.

Lovely converted stables in Oldham, about 45 minutes from Manchester. Both bedrooms are identical, the bathroom is quite spacious, and the downstairs has the den/kitchen. Don, our host was very communicative and helpful. I didn’t receive the check in instructions from VRBO for some reason, so he quickly texted them to us, resolving the issue of our not being able to get in or access the Wi-Fi. We enjoyed several long walks to neighboring villages. We didn’t rent a car, but if you aren’t big hikers like we are, you may want to rent one as it can take a while to get an Uber or you may have to give the driver detailed instructions over the phone since GPS can be a bit dodgy. Overall, we enjoyed our time at the property!

Worked really recommend staying at The Old Stables. Fabulous quiet location, great country walks and picturesque villages nearby and walking distance lovely dog friendly pub/ restaurant The Roebuck Inn. The only issue we had was only 2 pin hairdryer available but luckily borrowed one from the neighbour next door and Dominic assured me he would sort this out for the next guests. Will definitely stay there next time we come to Manchester.

5 days stay with friends
We love quiet place & being close to nature.
Our cottage was in the middle of the hill with only very few houses nearby, which was what we wanted.
Loved 5 days of wonderful stay, the cottage had all the facilities we needed.
Shops were nearby, no need to go anywhere to enjoy wonderful walk.
Overall we had amazing time here 😊
