The cabins were cute but the bed sheets had hair on 3 of the four beds. When we pulled back the sheets and looked at the mattress it had some unknown debris on the actual mattress and yellow staining which was concerning. It looked like bed bug droppings. We contacted management and they sent housekeeping but housekeeping did not do anything to beds and said it was lint? huh?

I love the place because we were all able to take our dogs with us. The house was lacking decent pots, pans and bakeware. It also lacked a pitcher to make ice tea. I know our stay was shortened because of the bad storm went through. There also was a problem with ants in the cottage closet to the roa.

We had a wonderful time at this vacation rental. The cottages were great and between the two were well equipped. Our teens entered the lake right in front of us. The sunsets were beautiful. You do need shoes on all the time as the stones are hard on the feet. (Also hard on the pups feet). I also would suggest a small step stool to reach higher cupboards.

This property has great views just the back is a little dangerous for little kids. Thought there would be more backyard but overall great stay!

Location: amazing location! Just a mile from the strip. Utilize the Sunset Taxi service at just $5/person to take you to the strip. So worth it. They have shuttle busses so all can ride together.
Setup: this is a duplex. Both sides have the same setup: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 pull out couch, 2 loveseat, and a kitchen. You need to go outside through the sliding glass or main door to go to the other side. 11 of us stayed here comfortably.
Amenities: has very little for amenities. If you book here, bring trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper. Supply your own shampoo/conditioner/body wash. D/W was nice to have, as was the W/D unit (in the living room). Bring your own materials if you’d like to have a fire. Awesome setup outside for that.
Cleanliness: could only give 2 stars on this topic. Crumbs were all over the floor- felt gross to walk barefoot. We even found a piece of toast under the couch and didn’t even have bread in the home. The pull-out couch was unusable because of how dirty it was.
Overall: would recommend due to location and setup of the property. Definitely come prepared with your own amenities and think twice if your party would require the pull out couch. We just had people sleep on the couch itself.

When we arrived at 4pm the electricity was not working, we received a message saying that it would be restored by 5:30. The power was not restored by 8:00 pm so we had no choice but to leave and find last minute accommodations since we had kids and elderly in 90+ degree heat and it was going to be dark soon. We had no way to know when or if the power would be restored. I contacted the host who did not offer any resolutions to my concerns. I requested a refund and was denied any compensation. The host did not care at all about any of my concerns or the safety of my family.
The property itself is disgusting. Musty, flies everywhere, trash left, old food in fridge. Houses butted up against each other, no privacy.
The photos make it appear to be one big house but these are two separate houses that do not connect. 2 bedrooms in one house and 2 bedrooms in another house. There is no direct access to the lake whatsoever, you cannot walk down the steep hill off the gravel backyard to access it. We were trying to figure out how they even took the photos that are in the listing.
Overall if the electricity were functional I would still leave a 1 star review for how deceiving this listing is. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

I held my sister’s bachelorette weekend here and it was the perfect place. It was clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. We had no issues with the property. The backyard is gorgeous and the perfect place to relax and enjoy the water. The neighborhood was friendly and quiet. It was walking distance from sunset rentals for transportation and not too far of a distance from the strip. You could wake up and hear the waves. It did not feel like you were in Ohio. I highly recommend this rental for parties or family getaways! We had such a memorable and fun trip!

This property is amazing! Very clean, comfortable and welcoming. We stayed in the cottages for a second year to attend our family reunion. Very comfortable beds and furnisher. If you are looking to stay in Geneva, I highly recommend this place!

This is a duplex with nearly identical sides. Each unit has 2 queen bedrooms & 1 bathroom.
There’s a common deck in the middle with a nice round type picnic table that seats 8. We could go back & forth from the units pretty easily, but just so you know, they are not connected. You do have to go outside. The barbecue pits were nice. We grilled & watched the water. It doesn’t get any better than that. You will need to get your own charcoal & lighter fluid. Also, if you want to make a fire in the fire pit, you’ll need to grab some wood. There are several houses along the roads that had firewood for sale, & some pop up farm stands with fresh eggs & produce in July 2023. The photos are a bit deceiving as you can’t just walk right to the water from the gravel. There’s a pretty steep hill of weeds past the gravel. Most of the houses nearby are temporary rentals. All of the people we met were very friendly & willing to share their yards that allowed an easier walk down to the water. This place is absolutely beautiful. There’s a convenience store with a gas station right around the corner. The units were comfortable & well kept. The Adirondack chairs were very comfortable, & there were plenty. We had such a great time in Geneva on the Lake, Ohio. Everyone of the locals was friendly. We would definitely recommend staying at this house & spending time in this lovely town. We’re already thinking about our next visit.

The property is located on the lake. The views are incredible. There are 2 cottages included with the rental. The bedrooms are decent size, however there are no closets which means no hangers to hang clothes. There is a dresser in each room. Living room couch and love seat are comfortable. Plenty of kitchen space, although there is no light specifically designated for the kitchen. At least none I could find, which meant lights needed to be on in the living room too. Under counter lighting might help. Kitchen fully stocked. I could not get the electric fireplace to work. It wasn't important so I did not call maintenance. Bathroom is small but sufficient. Nice walk in shower. Water was backing up in the shower and within 5 minutes of my call to the office maintenance was there to fix. Cabinet behind toilet for personal items. Very nice washer and dryer. Sun room has built in counter with stools so you can sit and enjoy the view while eating breakfast or enjoying a glass of wine. These units are dog friendly and they have a small fenced in grassy area for your pets use. Adirondack chairs around firepit along the shore as well as a picnic table. You will need to buy firewood. Small charcoal grill provided. The cottages are conveniently located, maybe 5 minutes, to the strip and the park, however it is not within walking distance. Although the weather was quite cold during our stay, we did experience occasional sunshine and were able to tour wineries and covered bridges. Our stay was early May and I would caution you that nothing is open until Memorial Day. We could not find anything open for breakfast other than The Lodge.
The only place open for lunch was Firehouse winery. A couple bar/restaurants opened at 4/5 p.m. We were there Sunday to Friday, so weekend hours may differ than mid-week. Ashtabula is a 15 to 20 minute drive and worth visiting. We took pictures of the amazing sunset on the 2 days it didn't rain. We would stay at this property again.

The lake is beautiful. It was nice to have the separate cottages. They really do need a little TLC, and deep cleaning. The leather couch is so broken down that you need help getting up. None of the remotes worked so we had to go buy batteries, which we left. The fireplace battery was corroded so we took that battery out, cleaned the corrosion off to get it to work. The area was a little questionable. The lake was beautiful and we were able to enjoy that view. I will not give a recommendation to our family and friends.

We enjoyed our stay in the lake-front homes, they’re a great location & beautiful. They definitely need a little TLC though as hair was still in the shower and dust bunnies on the ground upon our arrival. I do not recommend more than 8 people stay in the homes as the pull out couch was very noisy simply to shift your weight and very uncomfortable. We were disappointed that the pet fence was very flimsy, missing screws - we would not let our pets in there without us, in fear that they could easily escape but it was nice to have a grassy area for them & always nice when we can bring them along. The rest of the outdoor space was beautiful with direct view of the lake, the fire pit, and much space to hang out and enjoy the evenings. Overall, we had a great family weekend at the homes and would recommend them to others!

Nice remodeled place on the lake. My only recommendation is that we needed a table to play cards. Just a suggestion.

Perfect location and layout for two families - shared space to hang out but separate units allowing for privacy. My only recommendation would be more appliances/kitchen utensils as we like to cook at home.

Great views of Lake Erie. Units have plenty of room - nicely updated and comfortable. The fenced in dog area was smaller than expected and not much grass around for our dog. As we went in February, the floors were cold due to heating vents being up by the ceiling. Would love to go back in warmer weather to fully enjoy the outside area/fire pit.

We enjoyed our stay. The location was great. Internet was fast and the property was relatively clean considering the proximity to the lake during bug season. TVs in every room gave everyone their own entertainment at night. The fire pit was was wonderful. It was a little pricey for a 3 day weekend (2 night stay) considering the check-in/check-out times. The check-in time was a little later (4pm) and the check-out time was much earlier (10am) than I'm used to with vacation properties. Other than that it was a beautiful place to stay.

We had a wonderful time in the two beautiful cottages. The lake view is amazing, the cottage clean, comfortable and very welcoming. Excellent job on decorating and making it very cozy. Very comfortable beds, and furnisher. We had all we needed and will plan to return!

Great location, lovely cottages!
The two cottages were perfect for our family—a bit of privacy was possible, while it was easy to gather together.
The best thing about the cottages is the location, a private spot overlooking the lake. We never tired of watching the waves during the day and the sunset in the evening.
The cottages are small, but well appointed. There is no group dining area inside, but there is a nice picnic table that seated us all. There's not a beach at the property, but you can get in the water, and there is a state park nearby with an excellent beach with a great summer beach vibe.
Geneva on the Lake has lots of great opportunities for family adventures, too, so when we weren't swimming, we had lots of options.
So, all told: A great spot for a family vacation!

Girls weekend
These cottages were so cute and clean. We had 9 girls between both houses and it worked out perfectly. The custom details the owners put in were great and we loved the outside space and composite chairs and tables! We’re already planning another weekend there!

Wonderful Time!
We had the best time!! Beautiful accommodations and the view was amazing! We rented a golf cart that really added to the fun of getting to the strip. Communication with Rebekah was always prompt and pleasant. Will definitely be back!!

Two Cottage Perfection
Everything about this property was perfect. We had to move our date and the owner quickly worked with us to setup new dates. We received clear directions for check-in and check-out the week before our arrival.
Our group was two families of four. The two cottage setup was perfect as it allowed the teenagers cousins to hang out and enjoy reconnecting in private but not so much that we couldn't keep an eye on them.
The cottage was beautiful and the nightly sunsets on the Anarondak chairs was the cherry on top.
Highly recommend this property!!

Beautiful lake view
Completely open lake view was just lovely. The cottages were very clean and well-stocked. Modern/recently updated; everything worked great. Great for families; would feel a little crowded with 6 adults in each cottage. Only drawback is that there's not enough room for a table indoors for meals or games -- probably less of a problem during the summer as guests could eat outside at the picnic table, but rain or intense sun would still be an issue.

Lovely property
Every thing was wonderful except we couldn't figure out how to run the fireplace, we bought a new battery, but still couldn't get it to work. Will definately be coming back.

Probably not a better option for GOTL
I had never been to GOTL but had been to Presque isle area in Pennsylvania quite a few times. I will say (in my opinion) this is not the best getaway for young children that are used to the hustle and bustle of ocean city and Virginia Beach vacations. This however is a great destination for adults and those that want to take it easy. The view is awesome from the back but it would be hard for someone not able bodied to safely walk to the waters edge (steps please? 😁) there was tons of seating outside in really nice chairs and it wasn’t as buggy as I remember Presque Isle being (the flies do bite frequently however) the interiors were modernly furnished and the beds and couches were plenty comfy. It was super convenient having the washing machine and dryer in the living room which helped us keep up with laundry easily. The unit was clean and didn’t smell like animals at all.
Just a few things I’d say were negative..
Spiders and small gnat-like mosquitos were all over the living room walls in the evening .. we eliminated what we could but they seemed relegated to the living room (might be normal for the location) this was most likely due to the sliding door being super close to a light that attracted tons of insects.. it wasn’t from us though so this must be something from previous guests? The kitchen was less stocked with gadgets then I am used to.. we had to get creative to drain pasta.
These were small things in an otherwise great place. I highly recommend.

Great lake side cottages for family fun
We enjoyed our stay in the side-by-side cottages right on the lake. We had all the amenities we needed for our three day stay. We ate our meals outside using the grill, watched the sunset and sat by the fire. The cottages are near the strip with shops, restaurants, etc. A lovely respite.

Lovely cottage, awesome view
Pros
* amazing unobstructed lake views completely worth the rental rate
* beautifully updated with quality finishes
* ample parking
* private and quiet even with cottages nearby
* pet relief enclosure pen
* relatively easy access to prime entertainment spots, the Strip
* really nice, new, comfortable outdoor furniture and picnic table, grills
Cons
* it is certainly NOT steps or even a short walk to town/The Strip… you must drive. It would not even be safe to walk if you wanted to make the hike
* there is no real way to dine or gather with the other cottage residents. There is no way to gather inside with a number of people to play games, etc.
* there is no covered outdoor seating in order to provide shade from harsh sun or allow sitting outside during mildly inclement weather or to allow for a large number to gather. Since these two cottages are being rented together, there really needs to be at least one space where the maximum number of guests can generally gather. It was clear in the description that this was two, separate cottages so that is not the issue but still would be great if it took into account that guests of both cottages would want to be together. Of course I would suggest enclosing or screening the area in between the two dwellings.
* there is no easy or safe way to access the shoreline though I know they do not encourage swimming. There is access but it is treacherous at best. They would be better off getting rid of the dilapidated steps altogether and not even make it possible to get down there. Even if you simply wanted to dip your feet in (which we did in the 90 degree weather), we had to navigate a weird, wonky path to get to the water.
* the vessel sink is lovely but completely eliminates much needed counter space in the bathroom
All that being said, the host was quick to reply to questions and even permitted us to check in an hour early when we asked if that was possible on the day of our arrival. We absolutely loved sitting outside and watching the lake and sunset and loved that it felt private enough that we weren’t bothering others with late night chatting nor likewise by other residents. It was so nice to be in a freshly renovated cottage that was clean and well appointed. Thank you for a great girls trip setting!
