Q: Is the neighborhood safe?
A: Very much so. 24 hours a day.
Q: PARKING?
A: You do not need a car, but there are multiple garages within a block of the home if you drive. They are typically $20-40 / night.
We recommend apps like SpotAngel or SpotHero to find free or cheap parking. There are SpotHero spots near the building for your convenience, available on a first come, first serve basis.
Q: Do I need to bring towels, a hair dryer, or linens?
A: Nope! we provide all these things. Same with hotel-size toiletries (unless I happen to be out, which is rare).
Q: When can I check in or check out?
A: Check in is 4pm and check out is 10am. Early check ins can be difficult if there are guests who checked out same day. We ask for an early check-in, or a late-check out fee, if you request either.
Q: Can I come and go as I please?
A: Yes. And we wouldn't trust any listing with which this isn't the case.
Q: Is the place professionally cleaned between guests?
A: Yes, and we take pride in providing a clean home for guests.
Q: What's my total booking price?
A: We honestly have no idea. With fees included, it only shows the guest how much they pay. This figure should be present after you enter your dates. Note that, pricing varies on a daily basis, and it actually uses some crazy algorithm to adjust it automatically, so I don't actually control this.
Q: Are the beds comfortable?
A: Very. Some guests say they're the best they've ever slept on!

Bathtub in hall bath was slow to drain
Thermostat was set at 67 and we could not manage to change it to 74 or so, so we turned it off most of the time.
It was difficult for us to open the lock box to get the key - maybe just new to us

The condo was in a great spot on Michigan Avenue and gave us easy access to the museums and shopping. Plenty of space with two rooms and additional beds in the living room for the whole family and all the amenities needed during our stay. The owners were easy to communicate with and made the booking process easy. If you're looking for a great spot in downtown Chicago, definitely consider the Guild #1.

The property was exactly as pictured - loved our stay & will definitely stay again if it’s available on our next trip to Chicago. Location was also fabulous - as were the hosts in communication throughout our week long stay. Highly recommend!

Imagine booking a place, having payment taken, receiving confirmation, and then literally flying halfway across the country only to be told that the reservation was no longer available.
There I was with my wife and 3 young children in the middle of downtown Chicago excited to receive the welcome message from the hosts, only to find that there was no key where they said that there would be, and then told the the place is no longer available.
Then when I asked for a refund, they only offered a partial one, saying that VRBO is responsible for the rest. I called VRBO and they said that wasn't true and that the hosts should have returned everything. So I am still waiting on my $582 back.
Terrible experience. Unreliable hosts. I spoke to some people in the building and they shared that the hosts have a terrible reputation as well.
Please do not book here or at any of their other properties. You will likely find yourself stranded with no way to contact the hosts. We were lucky that we found a hotel and that we had enough money to work things out, but for someone on a tight budget or with little flexibility, these hosts are not worth the risk. There are plenty of other options to stay at where you don't have to risk flying out and having your family stand there with no recourse.

The location was great! Very spacious unit. Good hot shower with great water pressure. (A big plus for those who care about that.) Towels were nice and fluffy and soft. (Could use more washcloths, only supplied one each guest) King bed in main bedroom was very bouncy and no support. Maybe a better foundation would Help. Other bedroom had much better bed. So 2 stars for beds.
Unit has so much potential! Furniture was very cheap and basic, could use some better sitting chairs to relax! At the end of the day we had no where to prop our feet up. Definitely invest in more lounge chairs for your guests. Building was decent. 5 stars for location.

This is lovely spacious appartment in a great quiet location, walking distance to downtown Chicago, grocery stores, restaurants, museums and lake Michigan.
The cafe at the ground floor of the building does a fantastic steak sanwich too. Would highly recommend.

The property was exactly as pictured and described online. The location was spot on and close to most everything! When it was too cold to walk we just got a Lyft. Property was clean, easy to access, and owners responded quickly to messages. Will definitely stay here again!!

So to start out with the positive:
The location was fantastic, right near shopping and great restaurants.
The Cuban food located on the bottom floor of the building was amazing.
It's only a 10 minute walk to the red line.
The beds were large and very comfortable.
Some things I wish I would have known about the property before booking:
The building is older and the floor is really creaky when you walk on them.
There was no batteries in one of the remotes for the TV. We ended up buying some.
The internet is a little slower. So we had trouble streaming videos on our phones and laptops.
The ceiling fan in the room across from the front door doesn't work. There was one box fan that we found in the other rooms closet.
There is only one key fob to get into the building. So if your group spits up you might need to coordinate getting back into the building.
You do have access to the laundry room in the basement of the building which is free, but there is no place to buy laundry detergent there. You will have to purchase it yourself at the store.

Older building in fantastic location. Property was clean and as advertised. Some deferred maintenance and upgrades need to be addressed to make it 5 star. No ice maker in fridge, bulbs out here and there, broken chain on paddle fan, dead batteries in TV remote. Again, nothing that spoiled our stay but apartment needs a thorough maintenance check up. Fantastic Cuban cafe on ground floor for breakfast and lunch. Park and lakeshore trail very close. Mag Mile shopping and restaurants galore.

My family and I stayed here for a mini vacation in Chicago. The location is wonderful - easy walk to the lake, Navy Pier, shops on the magnificent mile and restaurants everywhere!
The apartment comfortably slept the five of us. The kitchen was equipped with what we needed for the few meals we ate “at home”. ( why cook when on vacation?)
Check in was easy. Communication with the host was always promptly answered.
We had a wonderful mini vacation!

Great place to stay in the middle of the city. We usually stay at the Hilton Magnificent Mile, and this ended up being about the same price but much larger space, full kitchen and separate room for our son. The apartment was clean and sufficiently stocked. Communication from the host was prompt and the home instructions were easy to understand and follow. I'd recommend anyone to stay here!

Three of us stayed in this beautiful downtown apartment. It is the perfect location for all the Christmas festivities we enjoyed during our 4 night stay. The apartment was comfortable and had all the coziness of home. We would enjoy coming back again when we return to Chicago.

Our girls trip was so much fun starting with our awesome stay at this Streeterville condo. The communication was great and any questions and emails were answered very timely. Check-in and check-out process was easy. The 2 king beds and 2 bathrooms were perfect for our group. We enjoyed the Cafecito Cafe downstairs too! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again!

My colleagues and I attended a conference in Chicago, and I was looking for a place to stay within walking difference to the conference location, as well as some of the major Chicago attractions I.e. Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile, restaurants—the location was perfect for this! The place also has a enough bed space to sleep 7-8 people comfortably. I would stay here again!

Great Weekend Getaway
We came to Chicago for a Cubs game and a concert. The apartment was great! We loved the location. It sits right between the lake and Michigan Ave. We did a lot of walking and eating at some of the great restaurants nearby. The beds were comfy and the condo is very roomy. Would definitely stay here again!

This apartment is at an amazing location. We walked to Hancock tower to have a drink, enjoyed the shops, and walked to navy pier. Very nice and clean place. Great communication with owners. Would stay here again for sure.

The location is perfect for easy access to the attractions in the city and there is a lovely restaurant next door that we went to each morning for coffee and breakfast.
