The location was ideal
When leaving the property it was locked up and we had to leave via the fire escape and post the keys through the letterbox.
4.2
Great location for Castleton shops, cafes and pubs. Also a good base for Peak District walks. We loved the room it was very quirky. Staff were all lovely and helpful. We had a meal in the pub and really enjoyed it.
Breakfast would have been a lovely bonus.
4.2
Great location. Nice room, warm!
Noisy - right above the bar

Really friendly welcome from all the staff. Room was immaculate to say it was dog friendly. Room was modern with a huge bathroom. Quiz night was a pleasant surprise even if we didn't win.
Nothing we didn't like it's just a shame there was no breakfast (which we knew about) and menu for evening food was a bit basic. However there was a generous discount to a local cafe and plenty of alternative evening meal options in castleton.

The location was excellent, we have been previously but stayed at different accommodation. The young man that checked us in was lovely, could not fault him.
Unfortunately the room was grubby, there was a draft from the patio doors and there was damp in the bathroom, it did not feel like a deluxe room. It was Friday 20th October when we stayed and there had been disruption in much of the UK due to the amount of rainfall there had been. I did try to move our booking the day before due to an unexpected hospital appointment but was not able to, this was the hotel's policy to be fair but I thought I would try. So we went as we could not afford to lose £155. It seemed that most of the young people had congregated in the Peak hotel due to the bad weather, this was no problem at all and we ordered food. The food was cold, my husbands Lamb Henry (£22) was tough, I only had one bite of the burger. Overall we both felt that we were an inconvenience. Lastly we were up at 9am in the morning, went to leave through the front door and not one member of staff was there to check us out so we had to leave via the fire exit and put our keys through the letterbox.

Location
Music in the room was loud on arrival until approx 7pm not sure where it was coming from as couldn’t hear it in the corridor
4.2
Location was great and ideal car park opposite, staff were great
Room 1 was opposite the beer garden so limited privacy, blinds or shutters needed, and noisy late at night (post 12:00)
No food was available during our stay.

Lovely hotel in the centre of Castleton. Room was fabulous with a four poster bed and gorgeous bathroom with fabulous shower. Staff were very friendly. Kitchen was closed so can't comment on food, but plenty of places nearby to get a meal. Comfortable, clean with great staff. Definitely would book again.

this hotel is quirky and incredibly interesting, the rooms are spacious and although on the ‘old’ side, we really enjoyed our stay, for the cost, this hotel is great value. to top it off, the burgers and fries in the pub were amazing.. really friendly staff,,, loved it
a bit noisy at night until the pub clised
4.2
excellent room and pub and the location was fabuloud
the bar was very noisy past midnight on the Sunday with shouting and laughing. this was not normal pub noise like Saturday.

Breakfast would have been perfect

The food at the peak hotel is fantastic

The room was large and light with high ceilings. Large comfortable bed.
There was road noise through the single glazed windows. There was also a slight gap in the windows when shut so there was a draught.

Had lunch and evening meal, food was lovely, plenty of it and delicious

No serious issues, good value for money.

Great staff, very dog friendly. Excellent quality of service and an awesome Sunday dinner. Spot on location for walking in the surrounding area.
4.2
great location
noise was horrendous until 2am as we were in the room above the smoking area
4.2
comfy bed
The room was nice and cosy but there was no blinds for the top windows which made the light shine through all night! our room felt like in was in the middle of what seemed to be like some sort of cream fields festival with rave music blaring out from what appeared to be the kitchen.

warm and cosy atmosphere everywhere
nothing!

Rooms are very nice , spacious and have everything you need for a comfortable stay.
4.2
Welcoming with friendly staff. An unusual mix of decor that worked well. Welcoming for the dog too. Warm , room ready early and free parking .
No where to sit comfortably on an evening , and relax . All wooden tables and chairs in bar area . TV in room was not working, which obviously had been out for a while (unable to fix ) . Had to ask for a kettle for the room , but this was sorted within 5 minutes .

The hotel was lovely. The rooms big and spacious. My dog was made to feel very welcome The location was great. The pub very friendly and welcoming. The pub it’s self is lovely and quaint.
We stayed for 3 days and loved every minute of it. We will definitely stay here again.
Room 4 was a little noisy as the kitchen was below us and no breakfast served during the week but this would definitely not put us off.
If you want breakfast Dolly’s Tea Rooms and the Nags Head pub do a lovely breakfast.

Bathroom a little tired

Room was very clean, staff were really friendly, hotel was in the perfect spot for tourist spots like peak cavern and mam tor. There is also nice food spots closely accessible to people nearby.
4.2
lovely hotel great location, rooms very spacious and clean
the only thing I would say about the peak hotel is that I think breakfast should be included in the price even if it was just tea/coffee toast etc it would have been nice to just sit and have a bit of something before we had to leave . other than that it was a lovely stay
