This house is excellent. It has a cool layout with the primary bed and bathroom on the top floor along with the kitchen, eating area and family room. Then the mid floor has three rooms and the basement has one room, a bathroom, and another family room. Both the mid and top levels have wrap around balconies so enjoy the great views.
It’s a short walk to the beach or just drive there.
You have to drive about 10miles on the beach to get to the house so bring food and supplies as that 10mile drive takes about 40min.
The WiFi is great so I could get a little work done while here.
The canoes/kayaks are fun and, generally this is a great place to stay and I would totally come back here.

Peaceful and relaxing. 4x4 definitely needed! Great house setup!

We had a great week. Kevin was great and help us out when we needed it.
4.9
Our host Kevin was very friendly and helpful. We loved the location of the house and got a lot of use out of the kayaks, beach chairs and fish baskets.
4.9
Kevin the property owner was great. Very knowledgeable of the area. Would text back right away. Def need 4x4 to get there and be mindful not to go to the town during high tide. We saw many horse's from the property and a baby deer. Easy access to the beach.

The house was awesome, clean, and nicely secluded from the beach area while also being close enough to walk. We took the kayaks out and used the cornhole boards on the beach which was a plus. You really can’t beat this house for the price and Kevin was very responsive/accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

First of all...Kevin is the most attentive and responsive host we have ever experienced and we have stayed in VRBOs for 20 years. Don't let the fact that it's off season to keep you from a trip to Carova. It was in the low 70s/high 60's most of the time we were there and with the sun, we were able to enjoy kayaks, paddle board and tons of walks on the beach. Waking up to the wild horses outside our windows every day...can't put words to that emotional response. Lots of bedrooms/bathrooms for a couple of families. (3) three-sided wrap-around decks to spread out and enjoy the sun, the views, the serenity. Always a place to go away from wind with all of those options. We will definately be returning!

This home was perfect for our family! There was plenty of space..the views from the 3 levels of wrap around porches were so beautiful! There was a porch swing and a hammock. You could see the sunrise in the morning over the ocean and the sunset over the sound. The wild horses frequented our yard...There were kayaks and plenty of beach chairs! The beach was only about a 10 minute walk from the house. Kevin was very accommodating and a phenomenal host who happily answered our many questions! We had a great time at this beach house!
4.9
The house was clean and spacious. The kitchen is well equipped. Kevin had great communication and was available if we needed anything.
This was our first experience in the OBX. The beach was beautiful and not at all crowded. We saw the wild horses daily. Being able to park on the beach makes a day at the beach easy.
We would definitely consider renting here again.
4.9
Great communication and advice from the owner. We stayed with our dogs and our 4 adult children. Plus the girls fiances. Plenty of space and comfort. Plenty of parking. Everyone had a 4 or all wheel drive. Definately must have. This type of vacation is one where you spend time together as a family. The day is at the beach (with your vehicle) (loved it), exploring, kayaking or planning a fishing, boating trip.. Night is spending time together. Town is a long way away and really no night life. This is the vacation where you enjoy the beach, wildlife, sealife and spending time together. All relaxing. You will have plenty of stories and memories. This will be different then all the rest.

If you are looking for a relaxing getaway…this is it! Our family loved Carova Beach! As this was our first time visiting the 4x4 beach, we didn’t know what to expect, but found it was everything we needed! Wild horses, dolphin sightings, and uncrowded beaches. Kevin was awesome and answered all of our questions and made this new adventure so easy for us! The property is wonderful as well, with all the amenities that came with it. We loved the canal location and enjoyed kayaking to the bay! My favorite part was sitting on the top deck at night and seeing the Currituck Lighthouse beacon in the distance!

This home had everything, from kayaks to fishing pools, horses visiting and a vehicle beach pass. The location on the canal was peaceful and beautiful.

We had the best experience dealing with Kevin during our stay due to issues out of anyones control. Kevin worked diligently with us on the issues and was always more than willing to go above and beyond. The house was clean when we arrived and was in a great location. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Great Vacation!
The house was as depicted and very clean. Loved the kayaks, crab traps and the many amenities provided. Kevin was very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. Would definitely rent again.

This property is absolutely fantastic; clean, well furnished, with a well stocked kitchen. The outside porches are huge and accessible from all rooms, and the views are fantastic. I genuinely can't recommend this place enough. A quick tip, though - the 4x4 area of OBX really does require a 4x4 to get through - while we did see people use AWD vehicles, we also saw a *ton* of them stuck and unable to move (requiring a $$$ tow/extraction) while coming in and leaving the property. Just make sure you're aware of this and come prepared - we almost didn't, and I'm so thankful we ended up changing some things around and bringing more robust vehicles on our trip. Otherwise - you can't ask for a better place to stay at the beach! :)

Wonderful place for a quiet relaxing family getaway
Kevin was great to deal with, super prompt in communication and helped us sort out details before our trip so we were prepared! House had everything we needed and was the perfect place to ‘get away from it all’! Kayaks and fishing poles were great morning activities on the canal for the kids and beach being just a minute away, yet set away from it all on the canal, was perfect!

I'm gonna make this as pithy as possible!
There's no possible way you can have a better host than Kevin! Not only did he provide a beautiful place for us to stay in any possible support we requested as far as sites and adventures! Kevin went above and beyond when we ran into a problem with our automobile. Simply he was there for us no matter the circumstances we were treated like family! I could go on and on but it's not necessary Kevin is a gentleman and a beautiful human being!

This house is in a great location, on the Carova Beach canals and a quick ride or walk over to the beach. Kayaking in the canals is awesome with a good chance of seeing the wild horses as you paddle out towards the sound. The 4x4 beach access requires a little extra work to get up to the area but you are rewarded with a secluded retreat. The house has all the necessities for a week away from the paved roads. The host, Kevin, was quick to answer our questions, very helpful with local recommendations, and helped make our trip a memorable one. We’ll definitely be back!

Great experience.
Property was great. Unique experience with this location having to drive the beach to get there and then the location on the canal. Kevin is a great host.

We intentionally find vacations in nearly deserted places. Because Covid and our careers. Being where minimal humans contact is always a plus. This home and Carova beach provided exactly that. The natural area, all the wild life and the ocean is a win win!!
Wild horses in the yard, catching blue crab and catfish from the dock, flying kites on the beach are just a few of the activities we are enjoyed. Visiting the lighthouse and reading all the history of the area gave us insight into how much the community has tried to keep this area in a natural habitat and we are grateful for that.
Thank you for letting us enjoy your home. We loved it.

The best of both worlds!
What an amazing vacation spot! So many wonderful things to review. First & Foremost, The property manager, Kevin. One of the most important things when renting a home is a good owner/property manager. Well let me tell you, Kevin is the best! It was almost like visiting family. Kevin helped us easily find the place, helped us with anything we needed for our stay & answered my NUMEROUS questions about the area. Kevin is local to the area, & has a wealth of knowledge. Had Kevin not been there, we wouldn't have experienced most of the things we did on our stay. This home is in the 4x4 area, only accessible by 4 wheel drive. What an amazing adventure it is to drive the beach!!! We stayed in another rental, & loved the area so much we HAD to stay longer. We frantically searched for a place, & luckily, this home was available for the few extra days we needed. We are so very glad we landed on this place! It is right on the beautiful canal. The home has wonderful porches to view all the wonderful wildlife the canal area has to offer. We saw beautiful birds, & horses swimming in the canal! The wild horses visited the property every day.
There are SO many things to do. We were afraid with our time, we wouldn't get to do them all. The home is a few blocks from the beach, an easy hop in the truck and bring all your stuff along you'll need for the day. This was awesome - If you needed to run home quick, your car is right there! You also don't have to lug all your stuff back & forth. Just throw it in the vehicle & go. This was perfect at sunrise - Roll out of bed, hope in the truck, drive a few blocks and catch the gorgeous sunrise on the Atlantic. After a day at the beach, we went back to the home & either went fishing right in the canal, dropped in the crab traps to catch blue crabs or went Kayaking. Kevin wonderfully brought us hooks to set up our fishing poles, & left us some left over bait he had.
The kayaks - What a wonderful way to explore! Had we not found this home, we would have NEVER knew this area existed. The canals are beautiful & an easy paddle out to the sound. We caught the sunset on the sound (Kevin's recommendation) & it was amazing. Watched the sunrise on the Atlantic, & the sunset over the sound. There were amazing birds & beautiful horses to see along the way. The house is very clean & beautiful & had everything we needed. The beds are comfortable. Beach chairs, umbrella & cornhole are there for the beach. 5 star review !

Tremendously fun and relaxing
Our family of four plus a dog had a wonderful stay in Carova Beach. Kevin the property manager is the nicest person you could hope for. He took extremely good care of us, going way above and beyond to make our vacation a success. The house is beautiful, bug generous rooms and a lovely open space on the top level for all of us to cook and hang out. The beach was just glorious - clear, perfect water and rolling waves. We really enjoyed driving the truck onto the beach with all our stuff. The house also has a ton of beach items- chairs, umbrella, towels. All in all, a fantastic week. We will look forward to returning!

Kevin was very responsive for all questions and needs we had. The house was great and as expected.

Well-appointed and Beautiful
This property had all the amenities a family needs for a coastal vacation- kayaks, beach chairs, cornhole boards, crabbing & fishing. The homes’s design is pleasing and comfortable. There is plenty of interior space and multiple porch options for outdoor living. Don’t forget the bug spray. We observed horses and coastal wildlife on the canal each day.

We are avid kayakers so loved the canal to sound access. The walk to the beach was pretty and easy. Driving on the back roads was fun and interesting-recommend checking out False Cape State Park. The horses were numerous and we enjoyed sightings of them, especially in the canal and our backyard and on the beach. Great vacation!

We had a wonderful family vacation! My husband and I, our three teenage children, and golden retriever really enjoyed this secluded beach home. Kevin greeted us upon arrival which was very thoughtful. There was plenty of room for all of us! We really enjoyed the outdoor seating, hammock, corn hole boards, kayaks, large dining table, screened in porch, and close drive to the 4x4 beach. This was a first for us! We loved packing the cars up with the dog, chairs, lunch, and fishing equipment to enjoy a long beach day. It was fun to see the wild horses along the shore. The house had plenty of beach chairs and an umbrella which was very convenient. We were amazed that this beach home had so many helpful items all ready for us; trash bags, blender, laundry detergent, etc… Kevin also kindly located extra kayaks for all of us to go out as a family! The beds were comfortable and we were pleased with how clean the home was upon arrival. The sheets and towels were very nice. We really felt at home here. It took us about a half and hour to drive the 8 mile beach to get back to the town of Corolla to explore. We also enjoyed dining out in Duck which took about an hour. We got the hang of taking air in and out of our tires. We definitely would come back again! Lots of wonderful family memories.

Fantastic home in a great location that backs the canal and is only a few blocks from the beach. Beautiful wraparound porches made it easy to enjoy the outdoor areas, and the porch swing was a favorite for both kids and grandma. Home was well-stocked and Kevin was a terrific host who helped make sure our first stay in Carova Beach was a good one. Would definitely come back.

My family of 10 had been itching to get to the beach this summer!! We had 10 older teenagers, young adults, and our golden retriever puppy. The house was amazingly accomodating for our large group. It easily slept all 10 of us and could have slept 12. If you have small children or infants, this house can easily accomodate a large family reunion event.
Upon our arrival at the house, we were greeted be Kevin. He has been busy taking care of the issues at the house to make sure that each guest has a wonderful vacation. We had brought a large 5-person raft and forgot our air compressor. Kevin came back to the house and spent almost an hour blowing our rafts up for us. He is a native of the area and answered every question we had from landmarks, fishing licenses, to the location of the nearest dump. He even came by during our week to empty 4 of the 6 trash cans that we had already filled!!
The house was spotlessly clean!! I was actually surprised that I did not find corners of a little sand considering it is a beach house!! We were also pleasantly surprised by the extra supplies at the house; saran wrap, foil, ziploc baggies, dish detergent soap, salt and pepper and some other spices, etc.
There are 2 docks to this house, 3 levels of decking, at least 12 Arrondack chairs, a hammock swing and a full hammock. We spent every evening upon returning from the beach sitting out on the decks or docks till almost sundown!!
We enjoyed kayaking on the canals with kayaks provided. We also had brought a Sea-Doo that we rode in the canals out to the Sound area. Almost everyday we spotted a group of wild horses in the canal area right by the house. One day, we saw two of them actually swimming/ bathing in the canal!! We did some surf fishing at the beach and managed to catch a flounder which my boys immediately cooked and ate.
Everyone enjoyed driving the 4WD on the beach and the sand. It was so easy to set up the Beach Camp when you can park the car right beside it. You definitely need a 4WD to access and enjoy this house. FYI, we spotted at least 8 4WDs, over the course of the week, still get stuck and need to be towed out.
We will definitely be returning to Kevin's rental house for a future beach vacation. Thank you, Kevin, for taking care of us and helping create a great summer beach vacation for all of us!!!
