About this house rental
This newly refinished space is a great place to spend time relaxing and enjoying the beautiful views after a fun day of exploring the Escalante Grand Staircase National Monument. A King size bed, sofa with pullout bed, tv, dining table and wifi make this studio style home a cozy place to stay on your journey along Highway 12. The small kitchen and kitchen supplies allow for preparing simple meals. The back patio has a bbq grill, dining set, and propane fire pit for enjoyable evenings outdoors.

It was a little hard to find as the actual house number is not the same as the address - something about a mixup that the city/county can't fix.
We didn't see the extra instructions on the house number until we had pulled over and gone thru the email communications with the owner again. Maybe having that info listed at the beginning would be more helpful in being able to more quickly find the house.
The house was spacious with a king bed and a full size couch.
The bathroom/shower/laundry is a little quirky/fun with a sink and toilet in one room and the shower and washer/dryer in another room, but it worked, and both rooms have plenty of space.
The washer has a very large tub if you need to do a large load all at once! [Bring your own laundry detergent]. There isn't anywhere to hang clothes - no rod or hangers, so we got a little creative in that area.
In the kitchen area, there is a full sized fridge, a cook top, (no oven), a micro/convection oven? and a quiet dishwasher.
We appreciated the clean house in a quiet neighborhood that wasn't crowded!

We used this property for a home base to explore the Escalante area for a couple of days. It was as listed and the host was very responsive. Check out Devil's Garden if you have time. Amazing place!

This was a wonderful place to stay to explore Capitol Reef, Bryce and the Grand Staircase area. So clean....perfect layout. Lots of room. New. Well stocked. Comfortable. Couldn't ask for more! Would recommend!!

The place is exactly as advertised. It is nicely updated with modern appliances including induction cook top and washer/dryer. The kitchen is thoughtfully appointed with small appliances and implements to perform actual cooking, including having decent knives.
It is an entire stand-alone albeit small house. There are no dedicated bedrooms. The fold out couch bed has a newer mattress that is far more comfortable than what you expect.
This is a great value, location, and enjoyable place to stay in Escalante, Utah! We would stay there again.

Escalante is a great home base for area hiking/exploring. The town's grocery store, ice cream shop, and the Grand Staircase Escalante visitors center were much appreciated.
Calf Creek Cottage is SPARKLING clean and has sweet thoughtful details. The set up is a single room (very capable kitchenette, king sized bed, pull-out couch, 4 person dining table) with two separate rooms off the side for bathroom and laundry. There is a nice back patio with a gorgeous view of the sunset.
Would definitely stay again!

We really appreciated everything about this cottage. The appliances are all high quality and we loved being able to do laundry in the middle of our vacation. The microwave/convection oven is a clever use of space and the stove top worked beautifully. After some interesting VRBO experiences with beds and showers, I will comment that both are excellent in this cottage. The location between Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef National Parks could not have been more ideal for our needs. We highly recommend this cottage!

My friends and I had a short stay while passing through Escalante to explore the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, but we enjoyed the property and town of Escalante, nonetheless. The residence was clean, and the bed and couch were comfortable and allowed us much needed rest.

We appreciated this home as a place to explore the area from (centrally located to so many things to explore). Having laundry facilities was great (we’d been hiking and exploring for extended period, clean laundry was wonderful). Our stay was very comfortable.

My husband and I were very happy with this little house. Our stay was very comfortable. The house had everything we needed to make meals. The only challenge was getting the tv to work. I would highly recommend this place. Perfect for two but could sleep 4 people without a problem.

The house was very clean and modern. The small kitchen area was perfect for our group. Even though it was small, the appliances were new and worked well. Having the toilet area in a different room than the shower is a plus! The big washer and dryer were also much appreciated. There are no closets and limited hooks which is the only negative to the place. Sheila communicated quickly each time I had a question. Overall it’s a very great place to stay!

We stopped in Escalante for 2 days as part of a trip through Utah to hike. This property certainly met our needs to have a base for hikes. The pictures represent the property well.
It is close to town which has several decent options for eating out.
We would stay there again.

This house suited our needs perfectly. Loved all the extra touches that made us feel comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised with stocked paper supplies, coffee, laundry detergent, etc. An added bonus since we are early risers was the rooster crowing on the outskirts of town each morning. Thanks for having us!

This home was comfortable, clean and had what we needed for a cozy, little stay. We had a snow storm while in town, so we spent a lot of our time tucked inside. The hosts graciously shoveled around our car during our stay. Would stay here again!

Property inside is exactly as shown. Highly functional and modestly priced for what you get. What is understated is the spectacular views/scenery you have out all of the windows and the large patio with a 6 person table and a 4 person fire pit. NIght sky is outstanding (though there is some street and neighboring house lighting that affects viewing slightly).
The neighborhood/town of Escalante is quite interesting. This property is right up against a beautiful large newer home, and the neighborhood is mixed with nice homes and old broken down homes/small farms. The treat of each day (at least for a city person like me) was watching the cattle across the street be allowed to graze outside the farm along the neighborhood streets then rustled back in by the kids with an ATV and the dogs. Experiences like this and the endless hiking opportunities make this area and this home a fantastic choice.

Well furnished house with good views
My wife and I stayed for a few days while visiting Bryce Canyon. The home itself is well furnished, and clean and is certainly among our favorite homes we’ve stayed at. Sitting on the back patio is a great place to watch sunrise and sunset, and the town is quiet and quaint. Of note, the back yard only has a fence on one side so there isn’t much privacy if that is something that is important to you, although there is only one neighbor who is close by.

Exactly as pictured! From practical placement of things like laundry, bathroom facilities, furniture arrangement, room darkening shades and curtains, to self closing garbage can location.....every detail was thoughtfully planned. We had everything we needed to cook and relax. The views and light are fabulous. The host was helpful and kind. A gem property.
