About this house rental
Paradise Ocean View
This oceanfront, cliff-side property has all the views that you could ask for in a Big Island getaway! Located in Hawaiian Paradise Park, this 2 bedroom/2 bath home has views of the Pacific from all living areas. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and dinnerware to make this feel like your home away from home. Off the kitchen, there is open space with unobstructed views of the ocean, perfect for morning yoga, being lazy, or as a play space out of the sun. Email your friends about your Hawaiian vacation from the convenient work area on the 1st floor – unless you get distracted from pressing “send” by the sounds of the waves outside. Next to the kitchen is the TV and lounge area, an ideal place to take in a vacation movie while still being able to feel the ocean breeze.
There is also a queen sleeper sofa downstairs.
On the ocean side of the house, there is a grassy area perfect for catching some rays or watching the waves crash against the lava rock. The property extends beyond the white fence, to where the lava rock meets the ocean. (Do not swim in water off cliffs – dangerous waves and rocks).
The bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor and each have an entrance to the upper lanai that faces the ocean. There is a TV, desk, and ample closet space in each room. The upper lanai has a seating area perfect for enjoying drinks while you count the whales. You will find a cozy reading area on the 2nd floor landing, if you need a break from whale- and turtle-watching. For your spontaneous trips to one of the nearby beaches, large beach towels are provided. The house is ideally located for easy day trips to Volcanos National Park, Hilo, the many beautiful waterfalls, and other attractions.
This vacation house truly has a paradise ocean view that you’ll want to make part of your Hawaiian getaway tradition!

surfside cliff vacation with family
A wonderful week at the edge of the Big Island in a lovely home with a deck. We had excellent views of the bay and the sound of surf below the cliff, coqui frogs at night. Easy drive to local markets and restaurants, quiet neighborhood. All the amenities, a perfect week in the sun.

Watch The Morning Sun Rise Over The Ocean From Bed
Beautiful home, open and spacious. Each morning we awoke and opened our eyes to see wonderful and colorful sunrises. We loved hearing the waves crash and feeling the ocean breezes. The house was very clean, stocked and well maintained. I gave a 4 star rating for the property's general condition because the patio chairs downstairs were degraded plastic chairs and not comfortable or safe for sitting. I would recommend an umbrella on the upstairs deck for morning shade. We enjoyed watching the sea turtles and other fish below the cliffs. The location of the house was in a nice neighborhood and felt private and safe. Making reservations, checking in and out was simple and went without issue.

Peace paradise
House was super clean, great location even saw a spinner dolphin when I woke up on the first morning I was there. Equipped in the kitchen plenty of towels and extra blankets. Only wish there was a king bed but it didn't affect our stay. Great views, and just hearing the ocean crash against the cliff will put you in a peaceful mind.

Sounds of the Sea
The best part of this rental is being right on the ocean. Ocean view describes it perfectly. You could open the glass doors downstairs and in the bedrooms and hear the ocean all day and night. It was lovely. My only suggestion is to add a real pull out sleeping couch. The house sleeps 2 couples, not 4 people. There are two beds, no real pull out couch as advertised. This made our stay difficult because we are two parents plus one son and one daughter. My daughter stayed in the other bedroom. There is a good sleeping space downstairs but the extra "pull out" couch there is not big enough for an adult, not even an adult child. Local host was available and picked up the phone immediately when I called with a question. Thank you.

A Great House for a Hawaii Holiday
The house was perfect for our holiday. It was well cared for and was so much better than staying in a 5-star hotel. We fell asleep to the sounds of waves crashing along the cliffs and to the dulcet tones of the coqui frog. We woke up to stunning sunrises, frequent dolphin pods, and lots of turtles. It was easy to explore the island from here.

Perfect Getaway Home
The Paradise Ocean View house is the perfect getaway. The location of the house is in a very nice, clean and safe neighborhood. The house is very well appointed and maintained. The outdoor top deck is a wonderful place to enjoy the sounds and view of the ocean. The property management team was very responsive to all of our questions and needs. Will be booking this house for a future trip.

Amazing views
The view was just as pictured. The neighborhood is nice and quiet except for the frogs. They practically drowned out the ocean the first night. You’ll definitely need a car to get around. It was convenient to VNP and the Hilo beaches. We loved Carl Smith Beach. We would definitely recommend the place to anyone who loves the sound of waves on their vacation. The house had everything we needed. My only picky comment would be a couple of other pillow types for people who don’t like the big ones.

Location, location, location
This immaculate house has the most wonderful views! It is everything it said in the descriptions. The pullout sofa and the pillows were so comfortable, we asked for the brand names. Great location to go see the waterfalls, turtles at Punalu’u black sand beach, Volcanoes National Park and so much more. The best part after each excursion was coming “home”! We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Location
This place is incredible- the waves, the views, the breeze! We had a ball, and the local folks from Hawaii Life Rentals were super nice and helpful.
Our one major complaint was that the bottled water station was nearly empty when we arrived. Though we were able to arrange a refill, it took a few hours of waiting (and sending various texts), and then we ran out of that after 2 days and had to go through the texting and waiting process again. At this price point, the rental really should have a few jugs of water all set up for the guests- that seems like a given. I know that the tap water is safe to drink, but it is very salty and ruined even the taste of coffee (which we thought might mask it!). For what we were paying, we just didn't want to drink salt water (or have to drive big jugs around to the various spigots on the island; also we were provided no cap for our water jug, so we couldn't fill it ourselves).
Everyone was super nice (truly- really nice communication with all) and did come through with water, it was just a bummer to wake up 2 mornings to find that there wasn't palatable drinking water available (and to have to hunt it down and wait).
I would TOTALLY stay here again (and hope I get the chance!!). I am grateful to the local staff; I hope the water situation can be more streamlined for the future guests, because this place is pretty darn near perfect.

Great escape to Big Island
Very clean and updated home directly on the water. Perfect location for visiting Volcano National Park and the Hilo shops and markets. Watching the turtles surfing the waves in your backyard is always a plus!

A beautiful view from deck
We enjoyed our time. The house was in a great location, but a ways from and grocery stores. We enjoyed exploring the volcanos, Puna area and Hilo.
The only concern is too thick pillows and shampoo products. The checkout time of 10:00 is earlier than most. Overall it is a great property in a lovely residential area.

Beautiful home in quiet neighborhood
We absolutely loved staying at this home. It was clean, spacious, and in a quiet, pretty neighborhood that we could walk in. The ocean waves were wonderful to hear, and looking out over the ocean through the day and evening was both calming and energizing. The home itself was very attractive and comfortable, even nicer than it looks in the photos. The chirping frogs at night are also wonderful, giving a layered aural ambience akin to crickets, but sounding more tropical and wild. For convenience, the basic supermarkets and other stores are only about 15 minutes away. Getting everywhere else is a bit more drive (about 30 minutes to Hilo, an hour to the volcano and two hours to Kona), but we really liked the neighborhood and being set away from the main roads and bustle. The home was also well stocked for cooking. There were a couple items we would have liked to have that weren't there, like a large serving bowl for tortilla chips, but that was easy to work around. Bottled water with a dispenser was provided, and we were welcomed with a lovely floral arrangement and box of Hawaiian chocolate, which was a nice touch. And finally, the yard with the ocean "cliffs" is amazing. We all at various times walked out and sat along the rocks, watching the ocean crash against them. The photos don't begin to do this justice, the experience is mesmerizing. The lava rock seemed very stable so we all felt safe walking along it, even with an 8 year old child, we just stayed a reasonable distance from the edge. We would definitely rent this home again, and we highly recommend it!
