No me disgustó nada
5.0
Pretty hotel in beautiful grounds.
Way too expensive for what you got.
Meals too expensive.
Drinks way overpriced, no draught.
8.0

The staff are very friendly.. beautiful scenery during the day... bed was comfortable.
bed was comfortable but did not get much sleep because of knockings on the walls then on the glass door. We could feel it but didn't pay attention to it... The place is old and haunted.. didn't know it was haunted until I experienced it myself last night.. otherwise, still quite an experience..

Beautiful Castle set in amazing grounds. Rooms are beautiful.
No complaints about the property, but the staff are dire !!!

The castle and rooms are stunning, great size and well decorated. Furniture in the rooms and around the castle is amazing. Bar is open 24/7 and staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast off of the menu was amazing.
Communication could have been better from staff around breakfast on Saturday and the afternoon tea., the reception desk needs to be more prominent at the entrance. there's no details or information on the castle in the rooms, or walks around the ground. An information book in the room would be perfect

The exterior of the building and grounds are beautiful. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and rooms were reasonably clean. Breakfast was adequate.
For a 4* hotel this was disappointing. The room was shabby and furniture was tatty, broken and not in good condition. Wallpaper was scratched and marked. Tiles in the bathroom were cracked and broken. The window in our room was broken. The room key stopped working every day after house keeping had been. Breakfast staff weren't very friendly and at one point forgot our order of toast. I feel like it isn't worth what they charge for rooms considering the experience doesn't match the images depicted on their website or booking.com.
We had booked here to see if we wanted to have our wedding here but based on our experience we won't be getting married here as I feel it isn't value for money when the castle needs some serious tlc to bring it up to the way they advertise it.

It was so nice to stay in a castle. Everything is kept realistic and really lets you step back in time! They even left information on the history, which was fascinating. We had a great stay!! The floor is on a loft above a sitting area, the whole set up is so nice! Felt like a fairytale!
Many weddings are done there. It's beautiful!
The location is difficult if you're looking to go into town. I would still book here again though! You just have to plan for the 20 minute taxi into town to sometimes take 50! We missed a tour because we budgeted for 30 minutes.
There was a small ceiling leak, which is expected in an old property. The staff was attentive and contacted maintenance.

Location is perfect to visit Edinburgh, the hotel was as expected. We felt like the king and Queen of the Manor! The food was exceptional and fresh. I would recommend it for a visit

It was beautiful and so special to stay in a castle.

Staff very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is beautiful, our rooms were great. The grounds are beautiful and interesting. Food delicious.
Decaf coffee could do with looking more like coffee and less like tea at breakfast . The pool cues need new tips, but the pool table is great fun.

The grounds are gorgeous especially in the frost.
The bar was quaint and well stocked.
The shower was great!
Bed was comfy
Our room was a bit small and we struggled with space with our luggage. We stayed with friends and their room was double our size and much nicer.
We also came to stay to see Edinburgh and this was a little far out for us, so one night was ok, then we moved into the city for another night elsewhere

stunning location, lovely building. very spacious room.
no hot water in bathroom- spoke to reception who reset the boiler but did not resolve the problem. Breakfast is very expensive for what the offering is- a menu is shown on the website but it is a self serve buffet. we were charged full price for a child’s breakfast and when queried with reception staff were told there is not a child’s breakfast available however the again on their website there is a child’s breakfast price and refused to accept they did have a child’s breakfast price.

Stayed here twice 1 year ago exactly and was looking forward to returning. Beautiful location.
We were ignored for 10 minutes at reception when we arrived. We eventually asked a young member of staff for the reception staff. From the male staff, we were given the impression it was just a business transaction and he didn’t care. The female evening staff were lovely as were the waitresses.
The boiler broke, which considering it is a 4 star hotel you would expect them to have a back up…. NO SHOWER / BATH on 30th or 1st before we left. It was disgraceful. No heating in the room, when we asked for an extra doona as it was freezing, the male receptionist gave us 2 sheets. I don’t know what has happened in the last 12 months, but the total feel of the place has changed. We literally couldn’t wait to get there…. extremely disappointing stay.
4.0
The grounds.
The feeling that your going to step into a castle.
No reception as such , just a table plonked in a corner.
The receptionist was very rude on arrival, not organised either. She needs to be trained in the job or say goodbye.
The room needed tlc. Paint peeling, sink didn't drain properly, furniture falling apart.
To put the cherry on the cake , NO HEATING or HOT WATER !!! The reply we had was they were dealing with it. 24 hours on & I couldn't take anymore verbal diarrhoea from them.
We had enough & left a night early.
It needs shutting down, refurbed to a high standard & properly trained staff.

The location and surroundings were relaxing and pleasant. Conveniently located for trips into Edinburgh.
Would have dig deep to find fault with our stay.

Nice place, friendly people
They didn’t fix the dodgy light in the bathroom even after it was reported on arrival (rm2)

Nice walking paths. Rooms were large and the restaurant had good food. The front desk staff was very helpful and informative.
It’s a long drive from city centre
