It’s location. The house was spacious for the two of us and catered for all our needs. The different sitting areas both inside and out, the tropical garden and Cooper Creek access.

Nothing - we had a perfect stay

This house is gorgeous and the gardens are spectacular. The house has absolutely everything you could need, with some extras. The swimming hole is fantastic and so refreshing on a warm day. The location is great with good access to the Daintree, Cape Tribulation and the Great Barrier Reef.

The oven wasn't usable during our stay but there was a small outdoor bbq. There was some noise from the neighbour's energy generator but it wasn't too intrusive.

Loved the private waterhole to swim in, the kids had so much fun exploring and swimming around - it was cold water but super refreshing. The kids also loved the outdoor bath tub which they used every afternoon. The house was super clean, well kept and had a lot of character. Bed was comfortable and we were pleased that there was two single beds made up for the kids in the main part of the house. The location was very peaceful, the property was large and so quiet, lovely to get away from everything! Lots of butterflies and lovely garden to explore.

I wish some of the windows/doors (eg bedroom sliding door) had insect screens, just so they could be left freely open all night. There was no air conditioning, but the two fans did a great job and we didn’t feel like air con was needed at all. We also wished there was a pod coffee machine which would be super handy at breakfast. We also wished the property was a little further up north/closer to cape tribulation.

The bed was super comfortable as were the pillows. The private waterway is by far the highlight of the trip, like your very own Mossman Gorge. The walk to the water was easy and lovely. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. The house was clean and well thought out in layout and design. I loved the bath outside on the deck and enjoyed sitting in it, listening to the rushing water and bird sounds.

There wasn't a line set up outside to accommodate wet clothes after swimming/ the rain, so we had to buy rope and set one up ourselves. The fans didn't provide sufficient airflow from the heat, and the house often became quite stuffy. We couldn't leave the windows open because there were no fly screens so the mosquitoes got in. Thankfully the water provides some reprieve from the heat. The Wifi was problematic, which meant we couldn't look up things to do in the area until we could find sufficient reception away from the property. We also couldn't make phone calls to restaurants because of this. The Netflix and Amazon prime accounts also didn't work because there wasn't sufficient network coverage. We were a little confused with the bin system and ended up putting our food waste in a bag in the freezer until the day we left and then put this in the rubbish bin outside. (We may have missed a memo about this though, because of the poor Wifi).
