Since Barcelona doesn't have a lot of beachside apartments, there's a zone right across the road from it, where modern high rises offer a brilliant view of the sea and the developing Poblenou. Maresme is only a few minutes away from the beach, but you'll need to take the nearby metro to get to Eixample. In the summer, this home really comes alive with a whole extra lounge and dining area on the balcony that overlooks Nova Mar Bella beach. But even in the winter, the elegant design creates a pleasant atmosphere. Home truths: * The furniture on the balcony is due for an update * Due to the rules of the building, you'll need to keep the noise down at all times * Aside from a TV with local channels, this home doesn't have a lot of entertainment options * The communal swimming pool is only open during the summer * The fifth bedroom only has a single bedside table * At full occupancy, there aren't enough seats at the dining table * The only parking available is public, and therefore payable
