Apartment was clean and location was great with supermarket, restaurant and bars within walking distance. Communication with host was great and check in was made easy.
Quite dark at night time approaching the building but lights did come on when you reached the staircase.

The location of the flat was the best thing. Local to amenities and transport
Although it’s stated that the flat is on the first floor it’s not stated that the staircase is quiet steep, it’s not suitable if you’re travelling with loads of cases or a pram and you’re alone or if you have mobility issues. This needs to be made clear at time of booking, not on the morning of check in when you can no longer cancel

Stayed for one night due to close proximity to Airport. Bed was comfy and shower was good, pull out bed under main single was a bit lumpy with springs. You get what you pay for and it fitted the bill fine for us. Was clean and tidy. Yvonne wad communicative and helpful. I can't comment on surroundings or area as we were only there for the night.
Nothing really however, arriving in the dark and walking round back of building was a bit off putting as I didn't know if that's where we were suppose to be going and didn't realise bench was upstairs, so spent time creeping round garden looking for bench. But this was perhaps because I didn't read it properly.

Access to the flat is via some stairs at the back of the building. It was a bit of a shock and we wondered if we'd made a big mistake. Unfortunately the stairs and the whole of the back of the building was very grubby and not very well lit.. Stairs were in need of a makeover and more lighting. The balcony where the flat was has been tastefully decorated and was pleasant enough. Front door needed a firm push as it was stuck. The flat itself was OK, Very clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable. TV did not work as batteries in Remote had run out so we had to work out how to manually switch on TV but not a major issue. Kitchen is quite tight and compact and a larger person might have an issue getting to the sink.
But overall for the money the apartment was fine for us.

Location and that it was a whole apartment. Plus we were able to check in a couple of hours early.
The bed wasn't comfortable and the pillows were like rocks. To be fair it seemed like every pillow we slept on in the UK and Ireland were like rocks.

Yvonne phoned me almost immediately after booking to run through a few things with me, explaining the lock box for the keys and asking how i would like the beds made up.
Great communication with Yvonne throughout our stay.
It doesn't have the nicest entrance, up the back stone staircase, but once you are inside it was perfect.
4.5
The cleanliness and the hot shower after a long journey.
The lack of parking. It’s across the street at the local pool.

It was placed near to the beach.
I could not access the property due to stone steps going up in a spiral of which some were broken.

Troon beach short walk away
Clean, spacious apartment
15 minute drive to Irvine beach
Very affordable stay.
Great communication from the host Yvonne
I can see how the other apartments in the block could put people off staying there.
They look a bit unkempt, but try to ignore this

Cosy place to stay. I would love to stay there for a week or so!
no car park but good exercise by park a couple of yards then walk to the accommodation! ;)

It was very quiet the apartment was bigger than I expected. It had towels loo roll and absolutely every thing in the kitchen you needed. Home from home huge cupboards and nice hallway.
Although the front door to 2 apartments was sturdy the inner door was of thin glass. The back yard was messy and precarious to walk along to the stairway in the dark. The security light came on at the stairs but no light outside the front door and late at night very dark.

Living area clean and nicely decorated. Kitchen small but clean and ample utilities. Bedroom good size space and would sleep 4. Double bed however not so comfortable
Bathroom needs some work and shower screen inadequate, floods bathroom. Main concern was security and access to apartment shared access external door, residents next door kept leaving off latch! Inside door to apartment not secure if you pulled on it would open. Slept with chair jammed against it. Was then woken at 1am as a neighbour had put their washing machine on. No adequate lighting at side and rear of building where the access to apartment was and the stairs are dilapidated. Other residential so passing rubbish and old bike

Excellent location, clean and the needs were so comfy. Yvonne was great and quick to answer any queries I had, can't thank her enough for a great stay.
Not a thing, well except wi-fi, but I knew there was none before I arrived.

The location was excellent. The town centre was just around the corner which was good for us as we cannot walk far. Pleanty of shops, pubs and restaurants nearby. We went to the Three Idiots on the first night which is a friendly Indian restuatamt. Its very close to Troon train station also which is a bonus but its good to get a taxi which is only £3.50. We cooked our own breakfast, so cannot comment on this but the facitlities for this were brilliant. A small but practical kitchen with everything you would need. We didnt really use it for cooking as such. The host was always quick to answer any questions. The apartment was clean and comfy and met our needs and was cheaper than had we have stayed in a hotel for the same dates. It was in a quiet area overall. Would reccomend to family and friends. it was easy enough to get the keys. Overall, a comfy apartment, with all the home comforts you could wish for. Our two night stay was just for us to relax and this proved to be just that.
There is a small spiral concrete staircase to get to the property which is not good for disabled people. Its also through the rear of the property which is ok by day, but not badly lit at night. The lock key box was a little stiff to get into but I managed in the end. It says there are bunk beds, but this is not rea;;u true. There is a single bed next to the double bed with a bed that pulls out underneath the single bed. The road at the front can also be a bit noisy with traffic, but its not too bad.

Near Train Station and swimming pool and owner very nice and replied to anything asked

At first cursory glance, this listing states beach front, parking and a swimming pool. This property has none of these things! At the ridiculously low price for accommodation we did not realistically expect a swimming pool but there is a public pool on the other side of the street. Parking is not possible outside the apartment as there are double yellow lines (although we noticed others did park there for long periods on a regular basis). Parking was rather inconveniently found either in the swimming pool car park or alongside the Supermarket. And the apartment is near the beach, but it’s definitely not beach front.
Yvonne sent messages regularly, and replied to any we sent very quickly, so her communication could not be faulted. However, we never met and felt kind of abandoned.
As the apartment was very inexpensive we did not expect the Ritz, or even wanted such, and first impression was it was clean and okay for the price charged. There was a nice tea tray set out on the dining room table with milk etc which was very welcome after our long 240mile journey and the frustrations already experienced. But alas …
Good points were it was cheap, mainly clean, beds were kind of comfy, hospitality tray was a nice touch, good communication, plenty of drawer and cupboard space, plenty of facilities in kitchen, washing machine.
We arrived when it was already dark, being a November evening. Although we knew location, it was difficult to see exactly where we were supposed to be & were disappointed it was NOT the lovely block directly opposite the pool but a rather dark, dingy one further up street.
Walking up a horrible side alley to get to the back of the building was, quite frankly, nerve racking. Turning the corner we found ourselves in an equally horrible drying green area with refuse bins & a disgusting curved staircase up to the apartment. A security light did come on as we approached, but didn’t stay on long enough for us to navigate stairs with loads of luggage & mobility issues. We bought a torch from the nearby Morrisons.
We eventually reached landing & found the disappointing shared balcony & bench where key box was (so glad we had that torch). What a fiddle trying to get into that! We had great difficulty in opening the door-we had no idea which key was for which lock as there were 2 Yales & 2 Mortise & none were opening the door. After 20 minutes, with a tired, hungry 7 year old & a tired, grumpy senior citizen, Mr got Mortise lock open & finally the Yale, but door still needed pushing with some force to open. We expected to find ourselves in the rooms but no! We were faced with a communal, very dirty carpeted hallway & stench of tobacco was sickening. Fortunately, door to our lodgings was clearly marked & opened the locks without much ado as now knew what the other keys were for, but the Yale was unnecessary-it didn’t need to be unlocked, the door opened with a push.
The curtain behind bed was wafting in the breeze so thought to close window-except it was already shut! Tried to put our meal in oven but cooker is so close to the wall handle does not allow door to stay open. This was dangerous when removing hot food-no oven glove & resorted to using a bath towel while child held door open.
