Stuga is Swedish for cottage and refers to the many summer cabins that dot Sweden's coastlines, forests and islands and serve as a holiday escape, often hosting their families for celebrations throughout the year.
The word stuga also conjures up lots of evocative feelings for Swedes. These are typically places of peace, comfort, and mysig-ness or coziness, much closer to nature than the city.
We hope our Little Stuga provides the comfort and peacefulness you seek on Orcas Island and in our small hamlet of Olga.
Due to the time needed to adequately clean the property, we are not able to offer early check-in or late check-out. Please book an extra night if you would like to guarantee an early check- in or a late check- out.

This property was perfect for us. Two friends, two nights, we walked to the gallery, had a fabulous lunch there. We bought snacks and fancy coffee at the Olga store. We enjoyed the cottage decor and cuteness. The beds were very comfortable. Everything about the house and neighborhood was lovely.
The only trouble was we didnt understand the ferry reservations system! Make your reservations for both directions!

We had a wonderful time here. It was cozy, comfy, and just what our little family desired for our short winter getaway. The beds were comfortable, and it was so nice to have a small bed upstairs, in addition to the queen bed, that our 3-year old could sleep in. We found that everything we needed for cooking meals were provided, and coffee supplies were plentiful as well. The water pressure in the shower was excellent, the wood stove provided us warmth, and the location of the cottage felt private and safe (granted, it is winter and other nearby cottages were unoccupied). Definitely a 5-star stay for us.

A cute and cosy cottage, suitable for a couple with young kids. Check in process was smooth and convenient. A slight caution for those with sensitive airways whom may experience throat discomfort, possible due to fire soots around the cottage. Erin was a wonderful host providing clear instructions and responsive to questions.

Perfect for overflow from The Stuga. Delightful little cottage with the sweetest window twin bed in the upstairs. Would not recommend the Little Stuga for anyone with steep stair aversions. Perfect hosts. Perfect weekend.

Retreat at The Stuga
The Stuga was a wonderful retreat just a short drive from downtown Orcas through Moran State Park. It's perfectly situated with views of gorgeous sunsets and natural light streaming in from each window (Which made for some fun pics!). We enjoyed the charm of the original features of the house paired with the modern touches. Overall the Stuga was a cozy home away from home for a girls weekend!
