Great place to stay. The host has thought of everything! A very clean and welcoming house. Location to the State Parks is perfect too. If we visit the area again we would stay here.

I stayed at the Tonti for 3 nights with my husband, adult daughter, my sister & our dog and we all loved it! The host was very gracious and provided many thoughtful amenities for us including dog treats, poop bags and a doggie toy! The home has a very cool retro vibe that is consistent in the furnishings, decor and artwork. We felt very welcome and comfortable from the moment we stepped in. The location is great with many small shops nearby and in the charming neighboring towns. Can't say enough good things about it! We look forward to returning.

When asked what I wanted to do for my 50th birthday celebration, I decided to go hiking with my favorite people aka our family. I didn't want the hustle and bustle of Starved Rock while staying at the lodge. I wanted more quiet quality time with my family. I also wanted a fire to chill out at night. This house was perfect! Definitely close enough to drive to both Starved Rock and Matthiessen Park for hiking during the day. And a perfect relaxing setting at night grilling and sitting around the fire roasting s'mores with our family of 7! The house was perfect for our needs. Very clean and cute! Hostess was immediately responsive to my questions and needs. Thank you for making my birthday celebration perfect!

My stay at this property was fantastic! It was a dog friendly home with a nice big yard. The kitchen was fully stocked. It was close to starved rock and mattheson state park, both were absolutely beautiful! We tried going to the local pool down the street, but due to a fight that occured there we had to leave, so if you have children I would not recommend going to the pool, it seemed like a bad crowd of people. But over all, everything was great!

The house is absolutely adorable! The beds were comfortable, the shower was refreshing and the fenced in back yard with fire pit was perfect. Elaine was such a wonderful, receptive host. We will definitely stay here again.

Property as described—clean, well provided, tastefully decorated, safe neighborhood. Elaine easy to work with & there is a super informative binder of information provided. Elaine even provided a few goodies for our dog—he LOVED checking out the fenced in backyard! Only tiny recommendation would be to provide hook/hooks in bathroom.

We had a quick weekend stay with our adult family of four and our family dog. We had fun touches throughout for our dog as well as us. The place is beautiful, communication was quick and we had everything we needed to have a wonderful weekend!

We had a wonderful stay! The house was super clean and the beds were very comfortable! The neighborhood was quiet and safe.

Windows are filthy and have a fog on them. Window blinds are broken and some pieces missing. Driveway is narrow and when you get out of your vehicle you are forced to get scratches from rose bushes! Chair in back yard were plastic and cracked so when you sit with shorts on, it pinches your skin.

We had a good time and enjoyed the property. Nice big fenced in backyard for the dog was perfect. We hope to be back next year. Communication with owner was quick and easy

What a fabulous time we had! The house was very clean and nicely decorated. And thank goodness for the air conditioner because it was during the extreme heat warning. Yikes! The beds, pillows, and linens were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Great water pressure and nice hot water. Elaine was very accommodating and responded quickly to any questions I had. Will definitely stay here again! Thanks Elaine!

Very nice and welcoming home we used for a Wedding in LaSalle, Illinois. Very clean and well maintained home. We had my sons two dogs with us and Elaine had dog bowels and a toy for them to play with. Elaine had some toys for the Kiddos to play with. Every happy with the stay and the fence in yard for the dogs and kids to play in.

The house was beautiful & clean, the furniture, the games, records, welcome basket for our pup was all amazing. The backyard is perfect, our dog loved it as well. We needed to contact our host & she was so quick in responding, it was not a house issue! Very comfortable bed and plenty of room to spread out. I would definitely go back! Nice town, people would wave and say hello. Perfect getaway!

Having grown up in the area, we stayed here as we were in town for a wedding, and this cute house fit the bill. The bathroom was recently remodeled, as well as the kitchen. Clean and comfortable, and with hot summer weather the excellent AC made for pleasant sleeping. Neighborhood was nice and quiet, and very convenient.

The Tonti is a wonderful home away from home. Elaine is a stellar hostess, providing us with everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. She even left a little welcome basket for my pup 🐶 We especially appreciated the proximity to state parks as well as the fenced yard and seating areas.

Perfect location to enjoy LaSalle and surrounding areas including state parks.
Communication and check in process were perfect. Was able to bring my dog, so fenced in yard came in handy.

The home was very clean and tidy. We appreciated having the kitchen to be able to cook and the close proximity of a variety of restaurants. The back yard was completely surrounded by privacy fence and made it so easy to bring the dogs with us. We visited two state parks and this property was in an ideal location for both. While we were on our trip the host even messaged me about some local activities that were going on.
The beds were comfortable (even though I typically don't care for memory foam) and the house cooled really quickly when we returned for the day and would turn the AC down.

My girlfriend and I took a short getaway with our pups to enjoy Starved Rock & the small downtown. The yard was beautiful and the dogs loved chasing the bunnies. Overall it was a great girls' weekend!

Needed a place to stay that allowed dogs. Perfect fenced in backyard in a quiet neighborhood in LaSalle. Perfect place to stay for visiting my relatives in the area. Will stay there again if available. Owner very communicative and nice. Lovely stay.

Just a quiet weekend getaway for myself, wife and my English bulldog. Fenced in yard was a big hit with my dog as well as the large park across the street. Elaine seems like a sweetheart. Quick responses. Nice little house. Very clean!

We had a great visit with my elderly parents and our dog. They had all the comforts of home, a nice fenced yard for the dog, great location and the queen mattresses were oh so comfy. The neighborhood was very quiet and we felt very safe. The host was very prompt in getting back to me if I had questions. There were goodies left for the humans and our dog. Five stars and five paws! We will stay again the next time we are in the area.

The house, the yard, everything was great. But after staying in a couple VRBOs, it's the attention to detail that you appreciate! There was a fantastic supply of TP, which rare, but much appreciated! And the welcome basket for the pups made them feel so loved. It included two stuffies, a bag of treats and a roll of poop bags. We could tell they really do love pets as much as we love ours. We also really utilized the binder full of restaurant suggestions and places to go in the area!
The pups had a wonderful time getting zoomies in the giant, fully fenced in yard. There was an area near the front that our puppy could have squeezed under, but I was easily able to block it with some wood, and there were no worries after that.
House has a fun and quirky layout with "secret passages" (not really), and we had fun playing hide & seek with the pups inside.
Had a great time, hope to come again soon!

We had a lovely time at this quaint and cozy home. It was a great place for us to stay while visiting starved rock for a sled demo for our rescue. We were so very appreciative that they allowed us to have our “fur kids” and they felt right at home. Will definitely consider coming back when I’m town.

My husband and I, our 1 year old daughter, and our basset hound stayed at this house for our trip to Starved Rock. We had a wonderful time and saw lots of eagles :) The house is perfect: cozy and clean and just minutes from the park. The yard is fenced in and the owner provided lots of very thoughtful touches throughout the home. We loved it and can’t wait to visit again!

This was my first time using Vrbo and stay in a rental. What a wonderful way to spend our thanksgiving. The sweet note and gifts for the dogs were so sweet. Nice quiet neighbors cute house and backyard. I will definitely be going back with out of town family. The owners made it feel like we were family even though our family is so far away and being a holiday it was a beautiful stay

We loved how quiet the neighborhood was and how cozy the house felt. The fact that we could bring our dog along with us to enjoy a much needed vacation was a huge bonus! The house was clean and Elaine made sure to equip the house with most things you would need away from home. Perfect location if you wanted to enjoy hiking at Starved Rock or Matthiessen State Parks.
