About this house rental
Monthly Rate December, January and February -- $2000 per month
Located adjacent to Smith Lake Park makes this beautiful property ideal for the avid fisherman or watersports lover. Drop your boat in the lake via the 6-lane boat ramp walking distance from the house. Our home has year-round deep water. Google Smith Lake water levels and subtract 491 feet to find the depth of the water at our dock. During the summer, the water level is deep enough that it stretches across the lake to the trees. During the winter pool there is a low spot in the center dividing the water in two. Our dock is located on the channel going towards Ryan Creek. Being on the north end of the lake, we get very little traffic as most people enter the lake and go south.
Enjoy badminton, volleyball, pickleball, basketball, a fire, swimming, fishing, boating, etc. in the convenience of your private getaway. The huge private lot perfect for making memories! Very few lake properties have a large front, back and side yard!
The large swim deck, covered boat slip and kayaks make this retreat perfect for families. There are only 23 steps to the water! Three youth sit-on kayaks, one adult sit-on kayak, two adult 10' sit-in kayaks and a two person canoe are available for use along with several lifejackets. In addition to swim deck, a large floating lily pad offers a cool place to relax directly on the water.
Unlike many homes on Smith Lake, we have high speed internet. With two desks in the house, Lotus on the Lake provides the perfect remote office space! You cannot beat the view from the loft.
Located 12 miles from Cullman, there are limitless opportunities for entertainment and eating out. Within a short driving distance, you can hike in the Sipsey Wilderness. There are always festivals and festivities occurring in the Cullman area. Check out the Sweet Tater Festival, Forth of July Party or one of many fishing tournaments at Smith Lake Park. Also, do not forget the fireworks show on the Fourth of July!
Inside the house, you will find a family friendly environment. Games for children and adults, movies, mini-crib, high chair, DVDs, etc are available to make your stay more enjoyable. As a large family, we know rainy days are fun too with family games! There are four tvs with Roku, so you can log into your personal streaming accounts. Enjoy dining at the large kitchen table that seats ten!
There is plenty of space for parking to the left side of our driveway. The large side yard has lots of trees to hang a hammock and take a nap. Walk down to end of the driveway and enjoy the fireworks shot a Smith Lake park.

Love the setting! Your view from the patio is trees and water. Lots of bird action like herons and cranes playing around. Loved the shady back patio. The screened is porch of great but we got lucky and didn’t have a lot of bugs. We enjoyed hanging out on the big float pad at the dock and kayaking. Rented a pontoon boat from Smith Lake Marina. Just a 7 minute drive from the house. The house is very clean and we had everything we needed for cooking. Smith Lake Park is next door and has a huge boat launch area. Also a beach area at the park. We definitely want to come back.

We had a BLAST during our stay! Despite the cooler weather and lower lake levels, the kayaks, canoe and pier were perfect to keep our boys entertained and outdoors. The big yard and nearby park was a great place to work off our Thanksgiving dinner and we LOVED feeding the ducks. The firepit provided bonus fun! The kitchen had all the cookware we needed to make a full Thanksgiving meal. We took the boys to the Space Center in Huntsville one day which was an easy one-hour drive away. We had plenty of games to play on our one rainy day and the domino train did not disappoint. We are looking forward to coming back in the summer!
Our boys are elementary-aged, but we did have to remind them to be careful in the back yard because of the steep drop off to the lake. My only warning to future guests would be that you would have to keep a very close watch on smaller children.

This house was perfect for our stay and well stocked with all of the amenities. The boat dock with power to it allowed us to leave our boats in and avoid the traffic jam on tournament morning. Kim checked on us several times during the week to see if we needed anything. Great house !!!

Best rental experience yet!
Everything about the Lotus on the Lake is perfect for your home away. Michele has thought out so many possible needs and wants for your trip and then supplied them. There are water sports equipment, life jackets, fishing poles, yard games, basketballs/goal, board games, Dvds, music and puzzles for entertainment. Gas and Charcoal grills outside, cooking utensils, seasonings, oh so many kitchen appliances and necessities. This is a place you really do just need to bring clothes and food and a good time is an almost certainty.
We were lucky enough to be able to meet Michele upon arrival and can honestly say the care and heart she puts into your stay being enjoyable is above and beyond. What a pleasure to make her acquaintance. She was quick to answer inquiries and checked in to be sure we didn't need anything while we were there.
Reflecting over coffee before we left on the last day my husband and I agreed this was hands down our best home rental to date. Even with a family of 7 who rarely eat out, we walked in and felt like we were cooking in our own kitchen, eating in our own space....life just flowed into vacation on a lake house like it was a natural extension of everyday.
Thank you Michele for making that a reality.

Relax and Recharge
What a great place to relax and recharge! We had such great weather - We were able to fish, canoe, kayak, feed the ducks, hang out in the sun, swim, grill, and make s’mores in the fire pit! We have preteens and teenagers and they loved the easy access to the water. House was equipped with inside and outside games but we enjoyed the low key activities of the water the most. This house has everything we needed to just relax and enjoy being together. Our host was great at providing everything we needed before we even knew we needed it! House was clean and a great location on the water. Thank you for everything. We will be back!!

WOW! the perfect lakeside home with everything!!!
I already want to return to this lakeside dream home! It was so comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. There were games inside for all ages, sports games for outside, and a dock with a canoe, kayaks, fishing poles and much more to enjoy the lake. The beds were so comfortable and the whole house was very clean. Michele was easy to contact and check in was simple. She included many extras for the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry that I did not even expect but were welcome. We definitely plan to return!
