Welcome to the Sugar Shack in the heart of downtown Brevard! We love this little recently renovated house. Walk to downtown in minutes from this cute home with a fenced back yard that's great for dogs. The open floor plan is perfect for entertaining. This house has off street parking and a metal shed for storing bikes and outdoor gear. There is a hose so you can wash off your gear after a day on the trails.
Furnishings are super comfy and the kitchen has everything you need except a dishwasher. There is a great front porch and the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. It's a quick walk from the house to everything Downtown Brevard has to offer, including shopping, dining, breweries, museums and more. The Brevard Music Center is a five minute drive, and you are only a quick drive from many other great bike trails in DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, and Gorges State Park. You can get to Pisgah Forest in about five minutes, the DuPont State Forest is about a 15 minute drive, and it takes about 30 minutes to get to the beautiful Gorges State Park. Asheville and Hendersonville are both about 40 minutes away, and both feature lots of attractions if you want to take a day trip or two.
Come join us for our annual festivals including the White Squirrel Festival in early June, great 4th of July festivals, the Mountain Song Festival every September, and lots of fun activities on Halloween (Brevard is in Transylvania County, after all).

It’s a cool little house. Everything we needed was included and easy to find, it was clean, and just nice. The location is great, we walked to downtown Brevard daily, and drove to Pisgah, DuPont, and Gorges State Park. The neighbors were friendly, and the property manager’s communications were very good, although we didn’t need any assistance during our stay. We’d stay here again.

The house is small and simple. It was perfect for a place to sleep between hikes. Very few frills and extras. GREAT backyard for the dog. Walking distance to downtown and breweries.

Can't beat the convenience of this location. Walk to everything in downtown Brevard. Perfect size space for me, my wife and daughter. Check-in was easy, place was very clean and tidy. Great backyard!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sugar Shack. The rental was clean, the kitchen and bath well-stocked, and the location (just a few short blocks off Main) was exceptional. Much of our at home time was spent in the fenced in back yard with our pet, being entertained by Brevard's famous white squirrels ( three at once!). Thank you for a lovely vacation.

The only reason I gave less than 5 stars on Cleanliness is the musty smell that is present every time you enter the home. Once windows are opened and ceiling fans engaged, things improve. The home is very comfortable and every need is met. Communication from property managers was timely and spot on. The location is GREAT to wander downtown OR drive to scenic locations. Neighborhood is perfect for walking dogs. Even had TWO white squirrel sightings!

Our plans changed to another weekend and we were unable to stay at this property because it was already booked. Since we cancelled before the date, we were able to get 100% refund and booked another property. Just dropping a note of gratitude and thanks for an easy process and quick refund. We will certainty keep this adorable property in mind for our next visit.

We were quite comfortable in the Sugar Shack. We were able to stock the large refrigerator and there was a good selection of cookware to make our own meals. We were able to walk to downtown shops and restaurants. There were plenty of towels and we liked that we could use the washing machine. We liked the retro decor and quirky touches like repurposing an old porcelain water fountain for bathroom sink. Next time we’ll request screens in the bedroom windows so we can have fresh air.

Had a great 4 night stay. Loved the decor of the house and the fenced in yard for my dog. Had everything I needed (except soap for the shower). Close to everything. Felt safe. I will book it again!

It was an easy walk into Brevard about 2 or 3 blocks and we were in the center of town. We played golf on two of the local golf clubs and ate in quite a few of the restaurants in town

We needed a quick weekend getaway for our family! The sugar shack was perfect! Cute, comfortable and perfect for those traveling with pets! We loved being able to walk into town for any meal or dessert, or just to go shopping- so close to ALL the waterfalls too! Highly recommend!

The house was just as advertised, and perfect for my sister and me. A nice, safe backyard for my dog with lots of squirrel scent trails to keep her entertained. Thank you for the flashlights to help me see her at night, she’s a Black Lab! My only suggestion would be to lower the tv about 6” to make watching easier on our necks. I hope to return.

My partner and I rented this house for ten nights for a mountain biking/trail running vacation. It was our first time to Pisgah NF and this house was a perfect fit for us. The location is great - only ten minutes to the main National Forest park entrance, twenty minutes to DuPont State Park, and an easy walk to downtown Brevard. Having laundry on site was key and the locking shed for bike storage was ideal. The home is small but still had plenty of space for the two of us to move around and be comfortable. The house was clean. We would stay here again.

A very nice property overall– great location near downtown, very clean and neat, and just what we were looking for. The only issue we had was that even though the heaters seemed to be working, we couldn't seem to get it as warm in there as we would have liked (this was mid-November). Management did respond promptly to our inquiries about it and stopped by to check the system, so not sure if it's maybe just the nature of the mini-split systems? Would stay there again.

Nice, pet friendly place. Convenient to downtown Brevard and a short drive to several great hikes. Backyard is nice and big but could use some lights out there. Seems to be a few white squirrels living nearby too so if you're on the hunt to see them, this is as good a spot as any!

The negative review has nothing to do with the property manager, the cleanliness, the location, All of these are five star. But I was born and raised in Brevard, which has a very damp weather conditions. And I am allergic to mold. Houses were before 1970 or so, moisture barriers weren't being installed. And the house has a very moldy odor. My parents house was the same. Nothing against Brevard, it's a great place, the location couldn't be better, the house has thoughtful touches (we arrived after dark, and all porch lights were on as well as lights on in the house, very welcoming) but it is an older home and does have a mold smell. So, if that is a negative for you, look for a newer place to stay.

Fantastic Spot
My partner and I spent 7 weeks in the Sugar Shack and had a fantastic Summer in Brevard. The house is a short walk to the shops and restaurants down town and a short drive from Pisgah making it an ideal location for us. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable for the summer. We especially loved the front porch where we ate most of our meals.

The place had everything we needed: pretty kitchen, clean bathroom with fine quality towels, comfy bedrooms. We will definitely revisit this place in the future.

We walked everywhere and never even needed the car. Great restaurants but go early. Most don't take reservations and close at 9 pm. Amazing dog park behind the regional hospital. We will be back - and soon!

The sugar shack is in a great location for access to the pisgah mtb trails and the walking distance to the downtown restaurants. The fenced in yard gives our pups enough space to throw the ball around or just hang out.
