Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cozy cottage is definitely a slice of history and is in a great location on the island. The ferry is a 4 minute walk and the Main Street in town is about a 15 minute walk. Our family overall enjoyed our stay on Balboa Island but it wouldn’t be my pick to rent again. Pro’s - The communication with the rental company for house information and instructions were easy along the with the booking process. The house had your basics for staying a couple days. The location is great and the neighbors are friendly.Cons - One thing we wish we had know prior to booking was the construction going on immediately next door to the house. It felt like it was in our living room as the walls to the home are very thin. Unfortunately with the rain we had to listen to it most of the day on Friday as we couldn’t get out of the house. That was definitely a bummer. The home was equipped with the basics but I would say it was lacking in comfort and some of the items need replacing or are missing. The queen bed is way too soft and the bedding was one sheet with a thin top sheet, not even a duvet comforter. During the winter it’s quite cold and doesn’t have heat (only one working space heater we found in a closet) To each their own on bed comfortability but we didn’t sleep great. Also, the planes start flying over the house around 7am so you’ll need a sound machine to help drown out the noise. The dryer took ages to dry our clothes even with 5 items of clothing (looks like the washer is new but dryer is needed) which was a challenge with having wet clothes due to rain. During our stay, we also had another group try to enter the home around 9pm mistaking it for their rental behind our house. Scared us to death but they were friendly & apologized for the mistake. We knew it was a 2 bedroom, 1 bath but the space in the home is cramped and we constantly had to shuffle around each other. Nothing they can do with the space but

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great little place for a few days. Cute and cozy. I wouldn't recommend for a long visit. Kitchen is pretty basic. Rooms are very small, espacially bathroom (extemely small) and hallway. Short walk to ferry. Mngmt Co. was quick to repond to an issue we had. There is a rental behind the cottage and it can be noisy. Parking can be a real issue. You have to switch cars from one side to the other two days out of the week. Construction is still happening next door but there wasn't much noise. Although the workers take up several of the spots in front of the cottage. Overall, a good stay and a great location.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is well located on Balboa Island, however if you are staying with more than one adult, do not attempt to use any of the bunk beds-there are 3; one on the floor and two others that an adult could not fit in. Also the furniture scale was much too large for the space

Great from beginning to end. Very very clean and well thought out. Charming original cottage on Balboa Island. We loved this place. It was cozy but well appointed. Worked perfectly for us. If you like vintage (which I do), you will love this little gem. Loved everything about it.
