We really enjoyed our stay in this cozy cottage. Everything we needed for our visit was provided from fresh soap and towels in the bathroom, to plenty of cookware and coffee for the pod coffee maker in the kitchen. The house is very well decorated and was immaculate. The bed was comfortable and the living room sofa was very comfortable as well. I appreciated the warm throw blankets that were provided for our night time TV watching. We did the Virginia Creeper trail bike ride and the cottage was convenient to get to the bike shop and to drive to local restaurants as well.

The property was as pictured, for the most part surface clean. In the 2nd bathroom the towel racks were not affixed to the wall well and you could not hang a towel on them. We had a real problem with the kitchen sink not draining. 12+ hours after contacting the property manager, we did get a return call with a promise of a plumber to come by and look at the problem. He tried and was unable to fix the slow drain. He left with a promise he would return the next day with other equipment, sadly we did not see or hear from him. The property did not have a dishwasher so we had no recourse but to try to use the sink and wait for the water to slowly drain out; usually taking at least 2-3 hours.
We loved the fire pit and the gas grill was a life saver.
All in all would stay again ONLY if the drainage problem was fully rectified.

The house location was good for us, as our trip revolved around riding on the VA Creeper Trail. The house has a cute interior, with 2 bedrooms. The house has been remodeled on the inside to make it feel very cozy. If I were in the area again, I would stay in the house.

Cute cottage had everything in the kitchen you could need. The decor was well done and felt like home. The master bedroom is large with walk in closet and good size bath. The second room was great for one person and comfortable.
Right around the corner from a great coffee shop for breakfast, close to the Creeper Trail and not far from Abingdon. Lots to do in the area and easy to find. We didn't use the fire pit but would have been nice.

We spent the weekend here with another couple and this house was well-suited to our needs. Although the location looks a bit sketchy, it’s very quiet, we had no security concerns and we were an easy/safe walk or bike ride to town. We enjoyed mornings on the front porch or next to the fire pit watching the birds (catbirds in the front shrubs were very entertaining as was the nest of phoebes on the kitchen porch). The kitchen is nicely stocked with plenty of dishes and flatware, and a variety of cooking pots/pans/dishes. The beds were quite comfortable, as were the couches. We also appreciated high quality TP and paper towels! Overall the house was very clean. The only downside is the disparity between the bedrooms. The master suite is quite spacious whereas the second bedroom is so small that there is only a few inches between the wall and one side of the bed. There is no closet either. We stayed in this room because we are small people, and we appropriated the laundry room for our closet. The bathroom shower was also tiny, which might present a problem for anyone over 5’6”. But the room is very cute and airy and it worked just fine for us. There is no dishwasher, which was not a deal breaker for us. The small kitchen makes good use of all available space. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed Memorial Day Weekend 23 with our friends and this cottage was perfect for a group of 4. It was just as described and so clean! Highly recommend and will stay again. It is so close to the Creeper Trail and downtown Damacas. Wonderful stay.

We stayed here for the weekend with another couple.
The good: athough the area appears a bit sketchy, it is very quiet and it’s an easy and safe walk/bike ride into town. We enjoyed sitting on the porch or the side yard each morning, watching catbirds and a nest of phoebes on the kitchen porch. The kitchen is very well stocked with plenty of dishes, flatware, cooking pots/pans, along with spices/seasonings and baggies/plastic wrap. The living room furniture was very comfortable, as were the beds. The master bedroom and bath are lovely and large, We appreciated the thick towels, plush TP and good quality paper towels!
The not-as-good: There isn’t a dishwasher, which didn’t bother us but might be a deal breaker for some. There’s quite a disparity between the bedrooms. We slept in the smaller bedroom because we’re not very big people. It’s pretty close quarters (only a few inches between bed and one wall). Although there isn’t a closet, there are hooks for hanging things. We managed just fine by appropriating some of the laundry room space, but some might be unhappy with that arrangement. The bathroom for this bedroom is not en suite, but it has plenty of room. The shower, however, is tiny and anyone who is tallish and/or large might have a hard time turning around in it. My husband and I are under 5’6” so it didn’t present a problem for us.
All things considered, we greatly enjoyed our stay and felt very much at home. Would definitely stay here again

The house was perfect for a three day getaway in the mountains. It was very comfortable for two couples that needed to rest after a busy day exploring the area. The house was clean with a kitchen better stocked than my own. It’s the perfect location for biking the creeper trail. Close enough to downtown Damascus, you can bike to a local bike shop and be transported to the beginning of the trail. If you enjoy hiking you will be centrally located to multiple options.

Conveniently located for Virginia Creeper Bike Trail experience and hiking trails. Cute little cottage, clean & well stocked. Property Manager readily available when contacted. Two recommendations: 1)guest bedroom mattress needs upgrade 2) remove poison ivy around tree at grill site/outside light plug.

My friend and I were in Damascus to hike at Greyson Highlands. We grabbed this VRBO last minute and couldn’t believe how much we lucked out! This place was really nice, very clean and well stocked. The beds were very comfortable and the home was well stocked with new towels, Keurig pods, cleaning supplies and travel size toiletries. It was immaculate, and had all the comforts of home. Lots of streaming options on the tv, and a nice large driveway to park our car. Super close to everything! It’s evident that the owners take a lot of pride in this rental. Would definitely recommend staying here!

This property was oh so cozy and have everything we needed. We were so comfy, and the bed was very comfortable in the larger bedroom. It was close to great hiking which we took advantage of! Love it! We have family nearby and will stay again in the future.

While there was an issue with this cottage when we checked in, no fault of anyone but the water had frozen due to extreme cold weather, our local contact and the owners went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and would enjoy our vacation. These people are amazing and we will be coming back!

The cottage was the perfect home base for our stay in Damascus. It was close to everything the area has to offer and had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. We fell in love with the area and would not hesitate to stay at the cottage if we're in the area again.

This cottage is simply perfect. It was cozy, clean, updated, and fully stocked. I would not have changed a single thing! One of the best vrbo I have stayed in.

We loved this cottage! It was our final stay on a 5 week road trip to Maine and back to NC and this was probably our favorite rental. It is so well decorated, tons of small details to make it feel like home but also lots of practical things like shampoo and soap, even mouthwash, lots of blankets, and a well stocked kitchen that even includes a blender(this is rare). The property is very pretty and peaceful. We enjoyed watching the sun come up over the mountain in the morning and grilling at night. It's not quite in downtown, maybe a half mile, but we easily rode our bikes in several times, and of course to and from the creeper trail. Also of note is that when we arrived, someone had left some ice cream in the freezer- probably the previous renter. This completely made our day. I highly recommend this cottage if you are in this area for any activity, or if you just want a quiet get away. We will be back!

Perfect cottage for the perfect getaway
Cottage met all of our needs for my husband and I. Adorable house, comfortable bed, peaceful neighborhood. We love biking and Damascus has the best bike trails. Very sleepy, laidback town. Loved every minute of our trip. We are planning another trip in the fall staying in this same darling cottage.

ride to ride
we rode our. motorcycle from so.indiana 400miles to stay and ride the creeper trail. clean ,neat, well maintained house. big master bedroom but 2nd bedroom was a little small for the other couple. very quiet part of town . only complaint I would have is the gravel in the driveway is very thick and very loose almost laid my motorcycle down trying to pull in.

Very nice cottage!
The cottage was spotless and very cozy. The kitchen had everything you might need to do a little cooking, the living room was very comfortable and all the apps on the TV were appreciated. The king bed was very comfortable, too. Although we didn't spend much time outside, there is a nice place to sit and relax. Thanks for a great stay.

Very nice cabin!
We had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Turtle Dove Cottage. House was clean, nice and well equipped, everything was as advertised. Lots of nice touches, like coffee pods for the coffee machine. Fire pit and gas grill were very nice, plenty of firewood provided. The washer and dryer came in handy after a muddy ride down the Virginia Creeper Trail! All in all a nice place to stay, would book again.

Turtle dove cottage - yes please!
This property was super nice - just as pictured. The property contact was available and quick to respond to questions. There were easter decorations throughout the cottage. The property had everything you could need for your stay. Shower and water pressure were great. There was fire wood for the fire pit - although it rained the night we wanted to use it. There are many shops and restaurants within walking distance. We are definitely planning to stay here again in the future.

Perfect Girls Weekend Getaway
The cottage was beautifully decorated and well equipped. We give the owners a huge thumbs up for providing a warm and cozy atmosphere, with more than just the essentials found at many other rentals. We immediately fell in love with the delightful decor. The entire property was very clean and tidy.
Both king and queen beds were comfortable, and worked well for our three-adult party. Easy access to outlets for charging phones overnight. Large walk-in closet in the master bedroom to store luggage and bags, freeing up floor and chair, and allowing us an uncluttered space.
The comfy couch and oversized chair, with soft throws and pillows is where we spent hours and hours “catching up” and relaxing. Loved the wooden tray table on center ottoman as coffee table. Large enough to keep our many snacks and drinks easily accessible.
Dining area was cute and also a central gathering spot for us.
We only ventured out to eat dinner our first night, and headed to Abingdon, where you have many delightful choices. Boutiques, specialty, antique shops, and gorgeous Martha Washington Inn, make this town a “must see”.
We’ll be returning this summer to enjoy outdoor living with the huge backyard, fire pit, and rockers. Excited to ride the Creeper trail and return to this charming haven.
Highly recommend this peaceful rental, even in the winter.

Had to request door code. Might want to have handicapped bars on tub and shower for those of us who are older. Otherwise terrific!

Quiet & Relaxing
This cottage provided a great weekend with my wife and kids. Talking around fire ring while grilling dinner, playing games at the dining room table, watching a movie on Netflix. Thank you for helping us build memories.
