About this cottage rental
No77 has recently been completely refurbished by its new owners. All the furniture and furnishings are new, including new beds – all with SIMBA mattresses, top quality bedlinen and ‘fluffy white towels’. The main bedroom has a king size bed, and the second bedroom two full size single beds.
The Cottage is ideally placed to walk to all the attractions and amenities within Lavenham. It is just a few doors down from a small Coop that is well stocked with provisions for your stay.
The Cottage retains many of its original features including original doors with Suffolk latches, sash windows, and steep narrow stairs (sadly this staircase may not be suitable for visitors with limited mobility). However it now also offers all the facilities of a modern holiday home including Wifi (30 Mbps +), Internet TV, fully fitted Kitchen and bathroom with good shower. Please note that the bathroom is downstairs.
To the rear of the cottage is a terrace equipped with comfortable outdoor furniture – a sheltered spot ideal for breakfast al fresco, or early evening drinks. To the rear of the terrace is a converted wash house that houses a second toilet, a washing machine/tumble dryer. There is a lockable rear entrance to the terrace that leads onto a quiet, no through lane (ideal for unloading your car). The secure terrace is also perfect for cycle and pushchair storage during your stay.
Lavenham is the perfect short break location, with a wide and varied history which is shown in many streets of wonderful historic architecture that dates back to medieval times.
Lavenham is also fast becoming a popular ‘foodie’ destination with a wide selection of excellent restaurants and cafes to suit every palette and pocket. For eating in, there is an excellent butcher, bakery, grocer and well stocked wine shop and many take away options from the local restaurants.
For walkers and cyclists, Lavenham is the perfect base to explore the Suffolk countryside, the Stour Valley and Constable Country, as well as the historic town of Bury St Edmunds (well worth a visit) and the Suffolk Coast.

We loved our stay in Lavenham and right on the High Street. Everything was well positioned and easy to use. Great heating system but we didn’t need to use it much due to lovely weather.
We could walk everywhere! Managed to have lunch at Chilli & Chives, Memsab, the Angel and drinks at the Greyhound.

Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean and central in the High Street, with a Co-op a few doors up. Would stay again. Thank you

The property was fantastic and ideal for a short stay in Lavenham and surrounding countryside.
Lovely cosy front room, well equipped and clean kitchen and lovely double shower. Steep climb upstairs to a very comfy bed. Very central for the town and all shops etc and free parking very near. All communications with the host were great.
Would recommend.

Our family of four loved staying in this beautiful village. The cottage was very clean and well appointed. As we were staying for a week, we really appreciated having a washer/dryer too. There is a Co-op a few doors down which has everything you need for your stay. Our host was really helpful and responsive. Would highly recommend.

Our group of two couples stayed at No. 77 in Lavenham for three nights in September in order to visit the St. Mary's Church in Chilton. Little did we know that Lavenham was the most charming, well preserved medieval town you can imagine. The butcher shop was absolutely delightful, and there were so many lovely shops and restaurants to enjoy. There are some nice walks, and a beautiful cathedral nearby also. The house was perfect for our stay; it was well located, clean and well equipped with comfortable beds and linens. There was a nice patio out back with comfortable chairs and a table where we ate a meal or two. One thing to note...especially for senior citizens...is that the stairway up to the two bedrooms is quite steep, small, and with a turn at the bottom so we had to be careful. Overall, it was a great stay, and we would definitely recommend.

Close to local shops and public houses. Stairs inside property a little steep but manageable. A lot of interesting walks and local history.

Lavenham is a medieval secret well worth visiting. Our accommodation was perfect with everything you require.
We were able to get information about the property earlier from the owner.

No.77 was spotlessly clean and the cottage has a lovely feel, with everything you need. Whenever I thought “I wonder if there’s a…”, there was! Perfect location for Lavenham itself and exploring further afield. We’d love to stay again.

Beautiful Lavenham Cottage. Finished to an exceptionally high standard. Well located on the main street, a short walk to numerous historical sites and two doors down from a local coop. Highly recommended.

Fabulous little property right in the heart of historic Lavenham - close to local amenities and the square. The property is really comfortable, clean and furnished to a high standard. The property is looked after - everything works very well and its just great for two adults or in our case three as our adult son joined us for the trip. The property has two toilets - both on ground floor with one being in an outhouse. The stairs are very steep - great for us able bodied but think twice if you're not too sure on your feet.
Overall for us a clear 5 stars all round - Lavenham's a very interesting friendly town and you're you're right in amongst it all. Its also good for exploring further afield places Sutton Hoo, Bury St Edmonds etc.

Our review
We had a marvellous weekend but I think it should be made clearer that there is only one bathroom and that the stairs are pretty challenging even for those with full mobility!

Lovely!
We loved our stay at No 77. It is very well maintained and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was a bonus to have a grocery store just a few doors down. We appreciated the outdoor area and the wash room. Lavenham is such a charming place! We look forward to returning.

Perfect weekend in Lavenham
Our stay at No77 was ideal for a cosy weekend exploring Lavenham and the surrounding countryside. The cottage was beautifully presented, the kitchen well equipped, and also all spotlessly clean! Also, the bed was so comfy! The location within the village was great and the little free car park just behind the cottage is very convenient.
