The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates

Millham Cottage is absolutely stunning. Perfect for a large family and friends traveling together. Large beds with each bedroom having its own bathroom. Broadwell is a beautiful quiet town with the Fox Inn pub just walking distant around the corner. Stow on the Wold is about 1.7 mile walk to lovely shops, coffee shops, and more pubs. Many trails around the area to explore. The host is just a stones throw away and was very attentive to any questions we had. We cooked in one night in the lovely well appointed kitchen. Our only suggestion is a few more kitchen basics such as tin foil, cling wrap, and spices. However, a large Tesco is a short drive away. We had a fabulous time discovering the Cotswolds and would definitely come back and stay at Millham Cottage again!!

Milllham cottage was so lovely! All the rooms were so comfortable and there was nothing lacking! It was decorated so nicely! It is conveniently located between several larger towns in a nice smaller village. There was plenty of room for our entire family and we had a great stay!

We were a group of 6 friends catching up from all over the country for the weekend. The house and location were perfect for us. The house is well equipped and feels homely but also special for a weekend away. The beds were super comfy and the bathrooms were clean - the whole place is well designed and really well furnished. Highly recommend.

Millham cottages is a stunning cottage and we felt as we walked in that it was even better than the pictures showed on the website. It felt so comfortable but very chic! Everything was perfect from the parking to access and the lay out downstairs really lends itself to a social gathering. The village is lovely and we enjoyed walking to The Fox pub on the Friday evening for a meal and drink. The food and service were very good. On the Saturday we walked to Stow on the Wold which is only one and a half miles away along a bridle path where we had a very pleasant few hours. We visited The Cellar wine bar where we enjoyed tasting some different wines and small plates. Despite awful weather for July we had a wonderful time as the cottage was so cosy and welcoming.

Millham Cottage provided every amenity we could have hoped for, including an EV charger. Our Cotswold family reunion experience was enhanced by staying at Millham.

Had a fantastic 4 days, weather was great, cottage and village fabulous. Fox inn great for Sunday roast. Snowhill Manor well worth a visit. Found a gem of a pub called the Mount Inn in Stanton which has stunning views from the garden area. Lower Slaughter worth a visit also as it's a lovely tranquil village with amazing kept cottages. The Old butcher's restaurant in Stow does fantastic food (especially the fish) Service very good (book well ahead) Fridge was great in the kitchen with extra door panel to get cold wine out quickly! and ice machine was always there with the ever-important cubes for the G&T. If you love the quiet and tranquil life this is the cottage to hire, so quiet at night and just a short walk to the local pub over the green. Even the Danes who came with us loved it and they complain at anything. Blenheim Place was good, especially with the nice garden in the beautiful weather we had, the Clementine restaurant in the gardens is also worth a visit for lunch. Broadway was stunning lots of shops for the ladies and a nice hotel/pub for the guys (Broadway Hotel) Overall we had a great stay and we didn't even switch the TV on! - PS Don't reply on the local taxis to get around, they are about as useful as an "Ashtray on a motor bike"!

Absolutely loved the house. We stayed mostly in the kitchen area with a fire going.Would have been nice for additional seating. The kitchen was very well appointed. Bedrooms were delightful. Comfortable beds with lovely linens. Extra shelves in the bathroom for toiletries is a suggestion. We walked and walked. Such a wonderful time in Broadwell !!

We had a wonderful week staying at Millham Cottages. The cottage had every home comfort you could ask for. There were only a couple of things we’d improve and that is the strength of the internet and also having terrestrial tv as there is only Netflix and iPlayer which we’re quite slow once we had 6 peoples device’s connected.
The cottage is in a beautiful location with easy access to the surrounding tourist spots.
We would definitely stay here again.

Millham Cottage was ideal for our family break. Plenty of space for the children & adults to relax & enjoy the cosy surroundings. The kitchen was well equipped & we had the added bonus of a Christmas tree which the children loved. All in all a huge success with all the family & would highly recommend it to my friends!

An absolutely stunning property, beautifully decorated and has everything you could possibly need, from the most incredible fridge to exceptionally comfortable beds with crisp white linen. The village itself is very attractive and the house is just a short walk from the village green which has a playground and a nearby pub. The only thing we felt that the house needed was to make it a wee bit more child friendly: the high chair was dirty (we left it spotless!), childproof gates for the stairs would be useful and also a warning strip on the step on the upstairs bathroom. Aside from that, I can't think of anything else. The welcoming bottle of wine in the fridge was gratefully received and imbibed on the first night in front of the roaring log fire. Luxury indeed!

As a group of friends travelling together, our basic requirements are four equally comfortable bedrooms with bathrooms, lots of communal space and an excellent kitchen. This property delivers on all our requirements - we were very happy to return for a second visit.
Bearing in mind that most people are not used to cooking on an Everhot/Aga style range, we think there should be more instructions. We couldn't work the hot plate hob so were limited to just the two plates of the induction hob.
The kitchen is well equipped but could do with a lemon squeezer and garlic press, and some sharper knives! But these are minor issues!
Easy walk to Stow and lots to see and do in the area makes it a perfect base for a Cotswold weekend away

If you would like to read a short review - Millham Cottages are absolutely fantastic. Luxurious, comfortable, spacious first class accommodation that we will be staying in again on our next visit to the UK.
If you would like to read a longer Review - Millham Cottages have recently undergone a renovation, which as a builder, I can testify is luxurious and top class in every respect. The website images, which show a homely, high-end level of accommodation are spot-on. The place was spotless, and we felt like we were the first renters to use the property - even though we know we weren't. We were lucky enough to meet the delightful owner, and it was obvious that the cottage was a passionate, personal project, which retains its Cotswold homely appeal, supported by very modern appliances and top-end fittings. The bedrooms are all delightful and the 4 bathrooms with downstairs powder room meant no queuing in the mornings. Even with 8 adults using bathrooms at the same time, there was an endless supply of hot water. The ample kitchen, dining and sittings areas are superbly equipped, are comfortable and cosy, especially when the wood burning fire is going (There is a second wood burner as well if the winter chills kick in). The heating system, radiators and under-floor heating, including towel rails, were set to a comfortable temperature and on timers, which we left alone as it all seemed to work well. The lovely Arga took a bit of getting used to - but that was down to the operators not reading the instructions, so take a few minutes to get familiar if you plan on using any of the oven features.
Prior to arrival, the owner provided some additional information regarding the location and access which was very useful. The local village is stunning with friendly locals and an excellent pub within 5 minutes walk. If you fancy stretching your legs a bit, Stow on the Wold is a fantastic Cotswold town just 30 minutes walk, or a 6 minute drive. The town is designed for horse and carts and a market, so parking can be tight - we'd recommend parking in the free car park next to Tescos and walking the 2 minutes into the town centre.
To summarise - It would be hard to improve on this delightful accommodation. We certainly didn't want to leave!

A group of us stayed here for a long weekend. This is our 12 annual weekend away and this was definitely the best house. We absolutely loved it, beautifully decorated, comfortable and very well equipped with quality items. Loved the colours! A great little village too - tasty meal at the local Fox Inn - and a brilliant location with lots of places to walk and visit nearby. Only thing we thought would improve it was more privacy and screening on the back patio area. Otherwise, a gem!

Excellent space for a family
We loved having so many bedrooms and bathrooms for a family with grown children. They loved walking into Stow every day. However we were disappointed with the lack of basic supplies; i.e., toilet rolls, kitchen roll, only 1 tea towel for 8 people to use to wipe dishes and hands, nothing in the kitchen beyond salt, pepper, vinegar (is this due to Covid?). We came from abroad and can’t bring these things with us. Also, no manual to explain how to use the Everhot stove, no regular TV to watch live sport. It’s a good thing most of the week was sunny and warm so we didn’t rely on TV for entertainment.

A lovely village stay
Six seniors took a short break in this beautiful village, Millham barn has been converted to a high standard and we enjoyed all the local amenities (so nice to walk to the pub for dinner). We found the settees a little low and the “sign in” TV we decided to forgo but everything else was fabulous. Complementary bottle of wine was a welcome touch but other than that everything else in the kitchen needs to be supplied,

property booked to celebrate a special birthday
The property was ideal for our needs, spacious, beautifully presented, comfortable beds and clean bathrooms and kitchen, couldn't fault it. The owners very kindly gave permission for a lunch party to go ahead, everyone enjoyed the afternoon in part because of the lovely setting. My only quibble would be that as we were only staying two nights the check in time was so late in the day it didn't feel as if we could fully enjoy the property nor the surrounding area before check out - a very small quibble!

Such a fabulous stay for a special weekend in the Cotswolds. 10/10!
Our stay at Millham Cottages was absolutely first class. Our group were blown away by the standard of everything. The spec inside was really top tier.
The kitchen with its big island, the gorgeous fireplaces and logs, swanky wine fridge and bedding and towels throughout were all beautiful.
Contact between our party and StayCotswolds and also the owner was excellent from start to finish.
We enjoyed walks to Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water and the boys sampled a pint or two in The Fox on their way home.
Highly recommended for a fab weekend with friends. Thank you!

An excellent venue for both family and friends to have quality time together
Very well throughout interior design that provides a contemporary and homely feel with modern underfloor heating downstairs as well as a wood burning stoves being an added feature to compliment the majestic fireplaces. We entertained our close family for a long weekend as well as 6 of our friends staying four nights. Being able to dine together in a separate area added to occasion of celebrating my wife and my collective 70th Birthday celebration. With three of the bedrooms being en-suite along with a family bathroom gave everyone access to private facilities which is rarely found in properties of this age. The beds were comfortable and the most quiet location ensured a good nights rest was had by all. We all had a great time and left with many happy memories of our time spent at Millham Cottage.
