The Misty Isles View is perfect place to base yourself for a holiday exploring the Isle of Skye. In the heart of pretty Portree, the property is only 150 yards from pubs, restaurants, cafés and all conveniences. It has a fantastic elevated position enjoying far reaching views over the town and Portree Bay to the Cuillin mountain range. From the living room and kitchen you can admire the breathtaking views out to sea and the Cullin Hills, a truly rare advantage. The property benefits from 36mb downloading speeds, fast for Skye! The entrance vestibule houses both a washing machine and a tumble dryer, great for washing muddy clothes and warming up some towels after after a rainy spell! The kitchen is well-equipped with all you could need for cooking up hearty family meals, and coffee, tea, milk and sugar are provided, so you can enjoy a well earned cuppa on arrival. The owners are also happy to facilitate any requests should you be arriving late. Outside the large private garden has a storage shed, so bikes can be safely stored away after a busy day.
The real advantage of basing yourself at The Misty Isles View though is location. Portree is the best place to be based if you want to see as much of the island as possible. Ten minutes drive to the north and you’ll be at The Old Man of Storr car park for a simply extraordinary short hike to the amazing rock formations. Ten minutes to the south and you will be at Sligachan, the gateway to the Cuillin. Beyond Storr you have the whole of the Trotternish peninsula to explore, and then further to the west the other northern peninsulas of Waternish and Duirnish. On Waternish you’ll find the picturesque village of Stein with its Michelin starred restaurant as well as the oldest inn in the Highlands. Duirnish has Dunvegan Castle, Coral Beach and world-famous Point Neist lighthouse. Out west the Talisker Distillery will lure you during your stay, and quite right. Plus to the south you have the wonders of Elgol and the Cuillin outliers. Skye is the perfect holiday destination, and being based at The Misty Isles View is very good choice. Beach 4½ miles. Shop 300 yards, pub and restaurant 150 yards.
