About this chalet rental
Spacious chalet with a hot tub, fully stocked kitchen, WiFi, TV, backyard grill, firepit, outdoor furniture, hammock, 2 kayaks, large backyard leading to the river for swimming and fishing (seasonal), walking distance to 2 microbreweries, 5 min from Bethel's charming town center and attractions and minutes from Sunday River's skiing and mountain biking! Experience your very own slice of Maine mountain lifestyle with all of the comforts of home!
The chalet has 3 bedrooms, two on the ground floor and one upstairs. The common areas are spacious for spending time with family and friends. The large backyard has a hot tub, a firepit and chairs, a grill, hammock, table and chairs, (in the warmer months), and a forest path leading down to the river where we have 2 kayaks to explore Sunday River when the water levels permit.
You will have the entire chalet and property to yourself and it is located on Sunday River Rd. very close to the Great American Ski Rental equipment shop and across the road from Steam Mill Brewing a brewery/restaurant. We are located just close enough to the action, but still in a relaxing and private location to spend time with your loved ones. The Sunday River (the actual river) is a short walk from our backyard for summer swimming, fishing, etc (water levels vary seasonally). Our chalet has classic wood and stone with high ceilings and offers a spacious, yet cozy feel to create a perfect environment to get away from it all and enjoy an authentic Maine experience! For security we have 2 outdoor security cameras at the driveway and back door entrance areas as well as a noise decibel monitoring device.
We are located in a 4 season outdoor lover's paradise! Winter offers downhill skiing at Sunday River, cross country skiing at Carter's, snowshoeing and dogsledding nearby as well. Summer offers some of Maine's best hiking with Grafton Notch State Park and White Mountain National Forest nearby! The river is great for fishing, canoeing, tubing, etc and local operators are available for rentals and services.

Myself & give friends went up for a guys weekend. Check in process was easy. Home was very clean. Excellent location.
When I had a question about plowing the owner got back to me ASAP.
We’d certainly stay there again.

We had a great time staying at this chalet.. home was very clean, beds super comfy, over all set up was perfect for our needs- two couples with two teen boys. The location was perfect, close to Bethel downtown, and super close to mountain, so if you forget your gloves (speaking from experience) it's no trouble to run back down to get them and back in no time! Kitchen table perfect size for everyone to eat, and then play a long game of gin rummy! We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Davis Chalet. It was the perfect location to great food, family and activity while still feeling like you are in the beautiful woods of Maine. It was a GREAT spot for my two little ones. We had the best time! Hosts were also very communicative and gave clear directions for check-in and check-out. Thanks for hosting us!

My family and I had a nice stay. The house was clean and the owner had a new hot tub installed during our stay. It makes a nice new addition to the property. Jeff the owner was great to deal with and was very responsive to the few questions we had.

Great house! Close to everything, yet quiet and relaxing. It was -25 outside but the house was cozy and warm. Thanks for a great weekend-- we would definitely stay again!

Great location and very comfy space. Beds were great and it was clean and well equipped. It was pretty expensive compared to other convenient options, but we enjoyed it!

If you come to ski at Sunday River, you can't get a better location! Across the street from a brewery with live music at night, and down the street from the Matterhorn bar and Sunday River Brewing Company. But, we were looking for a cabin in the woods (at least with walking path nearby) with water access for Labor Day. The address was not given to us until just hours before our arrival and when we checked GPS we found out it was on a busy road next to a storage facility with the creek behind it somewhat dry. We did find a golf course (Sunday River and Bethel Inn) and kayak outfitter (Bethel Outdoor Adventures) nearby for two wonderful days of fun. The house itself is beautiful and comfortable - clean, nicely decorated and well outfitted.

I contacted the property owners before and during booking to assure my family’s needs could be met. I was reassured a wheelchair could access the home and in fact this was not accurate due to the steps that were required to enter and was told the shower was walk-in however there were steps to walk into the shower too which I didn’t anticipate whereas the home was listed as handicap accessible. Upon arriving to the property I realized the challenges we would face with staying at the property and reached out to the property owner who did not want to hear about my concerns and redirected me to VRBO. I spoke with VRBO who was polite and willing to try and negotiate with the property owners but the owners would not budge. This posting and the communication with the owner was not accurate and we ultimately left 1 day early due to the challenges we faced. Owners would not refund any money despite their false advertising and communication and VRBO said all refunds are handled by the property owners. Buyer beware- sadly what we hoped for was a nice getaway turned into nothing but a loss for us. VRBO staff were very supportive unfortunately I can’t say the same for the owners especially the wife. I do realize handicap and ADA have different standards but handicap accessible this property was not.

Great Escape
With ample parking, comfortable beds, accessible bedding, and all the comforts of home, we were incredibly blessed and had plenty of room staying here! The river was much closer than we thought, just over the banking in the backyard, so we were beyond stoked. Privacy, lots of activities to choose from, and beautiful views given from this property and area. We will definitely be back!

Cozy base for big adventures.
Spotlessly clean when we arrived, this little chalet was the perfect cozy camp for our party of 10 to enjoy each other's company and recover from nearby outdoor adventures. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was stocked with basics. My only advice for my fellow cooks, if there is something even a little uncommon but necessary for your food plans, better to bring it just in case. Would probably be an even better home base for skiers in the winter months.

Bethel Bach Bash
We were able to use this gorgeous, bright, and clean cabin to celebrate a combination bachelor/bachelorette party. In total, we had 12 people who stayed, and there was room for every one when using sleeper sofas and coach space. There are two bathrooms, which was great for getting ready to go out to local restaurants and activities. The river access is by far the most impressive feature of this cabin, as it is right on the Sunday River in a quiet, clean space. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay!

Cozy chalet in prime location
We had a large group of 12 adults and we were able to sleep everyone in the space, although that was with two people sleeping on the couch. The location is great and the property had everything we needed for our stay!

Wonderful stay in SR!
Gorgeous home, and if the shuttles were running, would’ve been ideal for skiing. I would say that it comfortably fits 10, I couldn’t imagine fitting 14 there, but great place regardless! So close to the local breweries and rental, and a quick drive to the mountain.
