Loved the layout. Kitchen was well equipped. Beds were comfortable. Living area was comfortable. A/c worked well. Near route 6, so easy off and on.

The water tank went day two. Property owner very responsive. VRBO unwilling to give adequate compensation to cover our limited use of certain parts of the property and added expenses.

Loved the location. Need to dehumidify the house. It’s quite musty and damp

I am not happy with the managing listing agent called “VACASA”. They charged a high fee (a fee that was almost as high as the cost of the rental!) Somehow I missed that when I was booking. I am shocked they charged so much and I didn’t catch it until too late. (That does not include the VRBO fee and taxes which is in addition to the cost) so this house ended up being the most expensive rental of the summer, and it was the least impressive. We stayed in two other amazingly beautiful places. This house was not what I had hoped for and it didn’t seem 100% clean since there were some cobwebs (but I know they are hard to stay on top of). It had a slightly musty smell. However, the large sunroom was nice. It’s a quick walk down to the water but you’re not allowed to go on the dock, so just know that it’s only if you have a boat (which I think they have one for you in the garage) or if you go straight into swim, there is no beach or really a place to sit. I think the owner should find another property manager one that doesn’t charge the same amount of money that they are getting! VACASA made it feel impersonal. And when I called them to talk about it they were not helpful. If the price were lower it would have made more sense.

We loved the home. Was so clean and homey. Especially loved the 4 seasons room.
6.0 / 10.0
The home suited our purposes because we needed wheelchair access, which this house provided. Pots and pans left something to be desired. The outside grill was so dirty that we had to scrub it before we could use it. Location, however, was really good for our needs.

The house is well maintained, has a lovely sun room and the outdoor shower was great. The basement was fun for kids to play air hokey etc. We appreciated that linens and towels were included. The house is less than a quarter mile from the CCRT, which was awesome! It's about 1 mile to Seymour pond on the trail. The pond this house is next to is really only good for using a kayak or swimming but it doesn't have a beach area.

I stayed a week with my husband and my 2 teenagers. This property was amazing and I've already book next year. I like to cook in most nights on vacation as it saves $, and this kitchen was so well equiped I could have made Thanksgiving dinner. Despite being on a main street it is absolutely silent thanks to central air. House is immaculate, well maintained and spacious. Basement game room a bonus. Highly recommend.

Spacious, homey, clean and comfortable home in a great location. The sunroom and gameroom / basement were definitely 2 of our favorite things. More then enough room for our family of 6 and the kids loves the canoe and access to the pond. We would definitely come again.
10.0 / 10.0
This is a standard ranch style home with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, plus an outdoor shower. The basement rec room was a plus for our teenage boys, and even our adult son who came by one night. Central air was a lifesaver during our steamy July week. The large sunroom was beautiful in the evening when it cooled off a bit, but we still needed the fans which we brought with us to move the air. It really was an unusually hot week. The deck, while small, was really the only usable outdoor space, but our kids are old enough that they were happier away from us in the basement anyway.
The house was clean. In reading older reviews, it seems the fridge, washer & dryer are new, and the dishwasher was more than adequate. We also didn’t notice the musty smell mentioned other reviewers.
The house in neighborhood and came with restrictions around occupancy & parking capacity and noise. We knew this going in and planned activities with extended family accordingly. In the end, we me met several neighbors at the pond who were exceptionally friendly, which we don’t often find as short-term renters.
The pond was the best spot to be in the heat! While no real beach, there was space to launch the paddle boards we brough with us and space to swim. The water was warm and exceptionally clean and the bottom relatively sandy. We floated and swam and found this part of our week to be most relaxing.
The large and exceptionally clean garage was great for storing beach chairs, bikes and paddle boards. We did not use the canoe that was offered to us, but it was easily accessible. It was nice to have an out of sight place to dump our stuff after a day at the beach or pond.
Location was perfect for us, half way between Brewster and West Harwich where we had extended family renting the same week. Bike path was super close – we rode bikes to Harwich center for breakfast. A path around the nearby retired cranberry bog made for a lovely morning walk with coffee.
Overall a clean, comfortable, well located home.

Plenty of room. Great outdoor shower. All of the beds were uncomfortable and should be replaced.

Very nice location. Property in good shape, but there were a few rough edges -- nothing that we complained about except not having been given the correct WiFi connection to use -- a phone call did solve the problem.

This place was perfect for our family of 6. The basement was a great hangout for the kids with pool, air hockey, ping pong and a retro music player. Very cool! The location of the property was perfect; Right on the CC Rail Trail for biking everywhere; right on the pond for swimming and canoeing; close to two different parks for pickleball, tennis, basketball, etc. The place was stocked with everything we needed and was clean and simple! We also loved the three season porch for afternoon chatting and cocktails! Only recommendation for the owners would be to get a basic ice cream scooper. We needed one!

Good older house
We enjoyed our stay here however please know this house is older and not updated. Positives: great location with easy access to the bike trail and a pond right down the street. Comfy beds, fairly well equipped kitchen. Negatives: old, outdated decor, no real outside space to relax ( very small deck only with uncomfortable table/chairs), some rooms had a very musty smell.

Reviewer Comments:
Staying in Harwich so close to a pond and the bike path was amazing. We had a great vacation. There were so many trails to run and we had a blast on the very clean pond with our kayaks and SUPs. The house itself was spacious and well stocked for cooking with decent cookware. In addition, the book collections everywhere are SO very great for rainy days. I wish we had dug into many of these rare editions and cool books earlier in our stay. The biggest two downsides of this house are: 1) older appliances and 2) mold/musty smell. Almost all the appliances seemed a few decades old. We often headed to the beach with wet towels from the prior day because the dryer was slow and made too much noise while we were in the house. The owner did hear this and let us know that he planned to replace it. The toilet tank had a rusted bolt and leaked into the basement, which we noticed upon arrival. The owner replaced the toilet a couple of days later. The A/C was priceless but, unfortunately couldn't cool the 3 season porch and basement, both of which had a musty odor. The linens and bath towels were all high quality and plentiful but don't forget your own beach towels. Like many cape houses, bugs and spiders were around. We did find mice poop and the owner was very responsive and successfully repelled the mice. I would NOT say this house sleeps 6, unless it is 3 couples. The basement is too musty to sleep in. All-in-all though, we had an amazing 2 weeks of R&R Cape Cod style. Thank you so much for sharing your home!

Very nice home and rental experience.....
All in all eveything was fine, however, there were no waste cans in the bathrooms or bedrooms. We also had a mouse issue in the kitchen. We had several cherry tomatoes in a bowl on by the sink and in the morning there we mouse droppings in the bowl and bite marks in the tomatoes. FYI the windows in the basements could use a cleaning, spider webs in most of them. I know these are minor issues but wanted to bring the to your attention. Thanks and we hope to be back next year! Thanks, Steve

Overall, the property did an excellent job of living up to expectations. The main level is as pictured on the website. We did not use the basement game room, so can't really comment on that. We would have used the canoe, but found it too heavy (for two seniors) to carry all the way to the pond. If you bring a stand up paddle board, there is a SUP cart to help you get your board down to the pond. But again, overall the house is comfortable and met our needs well. We really appreciated the fact that the location is a short drive from just about everything we could think of doing on the Lower Cape. There were a few glitches on check-in that could have been avoided if the management company had been more attentive to details before our arrival, but they were resolved in a professional manner and in a reasonable timeframe.

Nice vacation
This is a nice home base for a Cape Cod vacation. Access to the pond was nice, but it is not waterfront and lugging the canoe up & down the hill each day is a bit of a discouragement for using it regularly. The central a/c was a huge plus during a humid, hot week.

Great location, nice house
The location is fabulous. Hinckley's Pond turned out to be even nicer than advertised, and it's a short drive to other ponds and to beaches on both Mass. Bay and Nantucket Bay; a little further to wide-open ocean. The house is nice--spacious and light, and the strong central A/C was welcome in the heat wave. It could use some upgrades, though. In particular, only some burners on the oven work, and the dryer is very weak--it took nearly two hours to dry towels. Probably because the dryer was so slow, the cleaners were not done when we got there; we had to wait outside for 45 minutes (and obviously that meant there wasn't the nice long break with the house empty that one wants during a pandemic). The management company was responsive to texts (but don't try calling; you'll be on hold for a very long time). Overall a great place to rent, marred by a few glitches.

Very nice place for a relaxing and fun vacation (bike, boat, swim)
This is a great place with great location. Everything is in good condition and the kitchen is well equipped. We enjoyed the table tennis, billiard and air hockey in the basement. It is close to the pond and we used the provided boat. The house is also very close to the bike trail and some really nice beaches with public access for swimming. The only reason why I gave 4 stars for cleanliness were the spider nets in the basement at the windows (the floors were clean) and in some hard to reach areas in one of the bedrooms.
