If you want privacy and room for you and your family to relax that is only 10 minutes away from town this is it. Kids had their own bunk house to themselves. Plenty of room/beds for a large crew. Sweet little house.

Nice large home in the country for large family gathering. Large inside sun porch and lovely back deck to sit/eat on and a fire pit with firewood. We heard many bird types, wild turkeys, bull frogs, other nature sounds. Beautiful area for walks.

The room were comfortable. The family enjoyed walking around the property. The kids saw some deer, heard the geese and bull frogs. Loved the back deck. Very quiet and peaceful setting.
One suggestion is placing more lights on the front porch and maybe ceiling fan.

Stepping into this exquisite country home, we were pleasantly surprised to find our expectations exceeded. In search of a pet-friendly retreat away from the city's hustle and bustle for our niece's wedding at the Midnight Gem, this home was an ideal choice - perfectly situated and beautifully appointed. The hosts were outstanding, ensuring a seamless check-in and checkout experience.

Wonderful setting to gather for our annual college friends gathering. 8 women were able to relax, have plenty of room to sit around to talk, cook and sleep. Great weekend!

We enjoyed ourselves and the house was fine. We would recommend.

Had a great stay at the house. We had 27 people for dinner and we all fit in the sunroom. It is a lovely updated old farm house which does mean a smaller kitchen and small bedrooms with the exception of the master which was huge. The hosts responded promptly to every question. Very clean. There is also a very friendly cat!

The house is just as listed. It was a neat farm house, tucked away in the country. The rooms were all neat, and the back yard is beautiful. The owners were very easy to work with. We all loved it.

Property and weather were perfect for our weekend stay. House was very accommodating to meet our family needs. We had 11 people and 1 dog. Plenty of room for us all. The property is full of things to check out. We loved exploring. A couple miles down the road we tried some fishing and hiking at FW Kent Park. Beautiful area.
We will be back.

When some people say a house has "character" they mean it with negative connotations. This couldn't be farther from that usage. When I say this house has country charm and character, I mean it in the best way. It was quirky, spacious, and inviting. We felt right at home as we made it our homebase for a weekend spent relaxing, enjoying each other's company and watching the Hawkeyes at Kinnick as they beat the Purdue Boilermakers.
We couldn't have asked for a better location or amenities and everything worked out great.
Highly recommend.

We had a lot of fun celebrating my husband's 40th birthday party at this property. It's a great place to get friends together.

We enjoyed the home, the setting. Did some walking about the acreage despite the heat.
Boys played whiffle ball. Plenty of room.
Three slept in the darling bunkhouse until a spider and frog appeared. So we made room in the house for the city slickers.
Kids enjoyed the stray cat! I think the cat enjoyed the food and water. Very friendly.

This property had many activities to do that kept our family of 12 very busy. The cleanliness and quaintness made our stay very enjoyable.

Enjoyed our stay very much! A family getaway for family as well as a birthday party for my grandson and 4 of his friends. They had a great time exploring and we drove them to the lake just a few miles away as well. A very relaxing atmosphere and a lovely old home to spend the time in. Very well maintained.

This house was a great place to just relax and enjoy time together with family. The ten of us found it a great jumping off point for attending the family reunion in Iowa City, visits to Kalona and the Amanas, an excursion to St. Mary’s Church in Newport, golfing at Finkbine and Amanas golf courses, and traveling to the Field of Dreams in Dyersville. The lightening bugs and the thunder and lightening storm were a bonus for family members who’d not seen them before!

Visiting for a HS graduation and visiting family. Nice property for all of us to stay. Beautiful farm home with lots of character. Let us have a dog. Quiet and relaxing. Great deck, great sunroom.

My family and I had a wonderful time at this cozy farmhouse!!! We rented it for my daughters graduation from the University of Iowa so we could be together instead of separate in hotel rooms! There ended up being six of us, and everyone was comfortable in their rooms! My daughters shared a huge king bed upstairs! It was a great location!! it was easy to get to Cedar Rapids for the day and to get to Iowa City for graduation!
I loved that there was a big dining room table for all six of us in the kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. The two bathrooms were very nice. We watched a slideshow in the living room on the smart TV and it connected easily.
We were too busy to really enjoy the backyard and pond, but it was beautiful and peaceful and you could see the stars very clearly at night. We did not use the extra room outside the house.
He was a great host and answered all my questions. I would go back!

This property was spacious enough to host our group of 14 adults. Plenty of parking space. The property is at the end of a dead end, which made our stay very peaceful. The outside amenities was perfect for us. The homeowners were very easy to work with, prior, during, and after our stay. I would highly recommend this place!

I had the opportunity to host a gathering of friends and family in this big, beautiful home. The homeowners were wonderful to work with. The space was just perfect for our gathering, giving us the opportunity to spread out and visit in the kitchen, living room, and sunroom. Multiple spots for board games and a lovely property to explore were highlights for me. My guests enjoyed the heated floor in the sunroom immensely and talked about incorporating something similar into their homes. The space was comfortably lived in without feeling scruffy. It is a beautiful home and I hope to host gatherings here for years to come.

It is a little out of the way to get to but perfect for a family get together. We were there in the winter but I can imagine the property is amazing when things thaw out.

We had a group of 5 in for the Iowa vs Iowa State football game. This property was perfect for us. Close drive to Iowa City but a great place to relax and enjoy the company for a weekend. The house and grounds are unique and comfortable with everything we needed. Our group enjoyed the large deck space, fire pit and strolls at this peaceful and secluded location. Seth was great with communication and answering questions for us. We certainly would go back! Thank you!

Overall, very nice and secluded, with lots of room. The detached room and very unique. Lots of interesting things to see and enjoyed a fire on the concrete area one evening.

The location is wonderful. The house is eclectic, with some interesting additions. The upstairs bathroom had no door so no one wanted to use it. The mainfloor bath was beautiful however. There was plenty of space for many to sleep. Beds were comfortable. The back deck was amazing and we spent hours out there. The lighting in the house was very poor, so we had difficulty playing games and hanging out at night (we moved the one available lamp around the main floor to help, but it was not much). There were many toys and books for the kids. Two teens slept in the bunk house and loved it. The upstairs 3 bedrooms were kind of warm with only one window air conditioner and no fans, but we survived. The coffee maker didn't work so we went and bought our own.

The house had everything we needed and the privacy was a huge bonus. Enjoyed the grill and firepit on a cool summer evening! Owner was super responsive and very easy to work with. Great place to stay, would highly recommend!

Our small family gathering went wonderfully! Everything was clean and well maintained. Beds we're comfortable and plenty. Having a badroom and bathroom on the first floor was essential for us and not many rentals can provide that.
We really liked the large dining table and plenty of patio furniture for our whole group to gather around indoors and out. The fire pit area was lovely, and we enjoyed playing the provided yard games. Make sure to bring bug spray and check for ticks if you explore the trails which were gorgeous.
We are already planning to make this an annual tradition.

Rented property In January for graduation in May 2022. Was disappointed at first that everything in Iowa City that could accommodate us was already rented. Well, thank goodness that was the case. The property y was so scenic, so quiet, and so well done. We were thrilled with the venue. Ready to move in. Everything you need was available. Would rent it in a flash again. Thank you for a wonderful five day stay. Wish we rented it for more days

It was just right for the few days away for peace and quiet. Two different neighbors did come over to check on activity at the house as they were not aware that it was rented out occasionally. The only thing that might be helpful would be some information as to where to buy groceries and/or eat.
