Awe-inspiring ocean views await at this charming, cedar-shingled seaside cottage in the Outer Banks. Open the blinds or the double doors while brewing a pot of coffee and take a seat in the rocking chair on your oceanfront deck to catch the sunrise with the sound of breaking waves and seagulls. If you’ve brought the family pup to this dog-friendly home, a walk on the beach might be in order followed by rinsing the sand from their paws using the outdoor shower. Head back inside as the rest of your group wakes up and starts preparing breakfast. You’ve got a full suite of appliances, ample counter space, and all the quality cookware and gadgets you need to make a quick breakfast or a full buffet. When it’s time to eat, grab a seat at one of the two dining tables or the breakfast bar inside, or slide those double doors open and sit on the upper deck with the salty breeze in your hair. Stow the dishes in the dishwasher and head out to explore the Outer Banks, or just make your way to the beach for a lazy day on the sand.
In the evening, the top floor offers a comfortable seating area, a large TV with cable, and ample space for everyone to relax, build a puzzle, or play one of the many games available. The lighted outdoor lower level offers an area for grilling, digging in the sand, playing corn hole, or having fun on the rope swing. On the first floor, you’ll find all four bedrooms. The main suite, the Captain’s Room, offers ocean views from your King bed, a TV, an en suite bathroom, and your own slider to the lower deck.
The second ocean view room, the Skipper’s Room, features a Queen bed, flatscreen TV, and en suite bathroom with your own deck access. Additionally, the other Skipper’s Room features a comfy Queen with beach sandpiper decor. Lastly, the final bedroom, the Pirate’s Room, offers a pair of twin beds in a Pirate-themed bedroom with a flatscreen TV as well. As you settle in for the night, end the day as you began, on either of your lovely decks, this time watching the stars rise over the ocean. Don’t stay up too late though - you don’t want to miss that sunrise.

Our family loved staying at this house. A lovely older house with lots of charm. We loved hanging on the upper deck and watching the ocean and all the surfers. The "poop deck" always made us giggle, perfect name for it! My family also loved the easy short walk to the beach and being dog friendly. An amazing place to stay to enjoy OBX, and surrounding areas.
4.6
The location of the home was perfect. The house was clean and exactly as pictured. The owners have left a lot of toys/coloring books/ and things of that nature for smaller children as well as outside toys for sand castles and a swing. The beds were very comfortable and the house had basically everything we needed! We would definitely return.

Our family LOVED our stay. It was quiet, except for the sound of the surf, which was heaven and the neighbors we quiet and friendly. This location was exactly as shown in the listing. The beds were very comfortable. We don’t care for eating out and this place had a well stocked kitchen. We had everything we needed to cook whatever we wanted. We have been looking for a beach vacation area that is not crowded with amusements and “tourist trap” areas. We just wanted peace, quiet, the beach/ocean, and time to spend with each other. This was it!! We all fell in love with OBX (including our doggie). New vacation spot located. 😁
4.6
The upper deck is the place was hung out mostly. The kitchen was nicely appointed but needed more hand towels.

We highly recommend this oceanfront home, the beach being easily accessible around the protected dune. The views were magnificent from the living area as well as the lower level where one falls asleep to the lull of the surf. For us we wanted to rest and relax in the sun, read and surf fish. The weather was beautiful during our entire stay. My husband caught several Kingfish from the surf for three dinners. We have vacationed in the Outer Banks many times over the years and must say this home tops the list. The kitchen is well equipped including the dual coffee maker for pods. We do suggest, however, that the sofa/loveseat be updated and that a non slip mat be added to the tub/shower especially for we seniors.
The cleaning staff did a great job prior to our arrival.
Again, we highly recommend Still Waters for your Outer Banks vacation.

Our recent stay at "Still Waters" in Rodanthe offered a blend of delightful views and disappointing limitations, resulting in a somewhat mixed experience. While the property boasted immaculate cleanliness and stunning vistas from both its upper and lower decks, certain drawbacks left us feeling conflicted about our overall satisfaction.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a home that, while charming, displayed dated furnishings. However, any initial reservations were quickly dispelled by the impeccable cleanliness throughout the property. The allure of the upper and lower decks proved irresistible, offering unparalleled opportunities to bask in morning sunrises and indulge in mesmerizing star-gazing sessions at night. The sweeping views of the beachfront were undeniably the highlight of our stay, providing a sense of tranquility and connection with nature that we cherished.
Regrettably, the designation of being "beach front" did not translate to guaranteed beach access—a fact that came as a disappointing revelation. Despite our eagerness to immerse ourselves in the coastal experience, the preservation of dunes and the actions of neighboring properties effectively blocked any direct pathway to the beach. This lack of accessibility was a significant letdown, dampening our enthusiasm and leaving us feeling somewhat misled by the property's description.
In hindsight, we feel that "Still Waters" should come with a caveat: while it offers breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere, prospective guests should be aware that beach access is not guaranteed and may be subject to external factors beyond the property's control.
In summary, while "Still Waters" holds promise as a retreat for those seeking natural beauty and tranquility, its limitations in beach access warrant caution for those with specific expectations of coastal exploration. With improved transparency regarding beach accessibility, this property has the potential to offer a truly exceptional vacation experience.

We were here from the West coast on vacation and decided to stay here for 2 nights. The house was perfect. There were 2 decks with enough seating for everyone. The views of the sunrise and the ocean were incredible. We sat on the upper deck every morning to watch the sunrise with our coffee. We had some really strong surf when we were there. We had an unobstructed view of the oceans power. The house itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Wish it could have been longer. Checkin and checkout could not have been easier.

Good time and enjoyed the house.
There for only two days and would like to come back for longer!

My wife and I came here for a long weekend getaway. It was quiet, the view was wonderful, and the house was great. We will definitely be going back at some point in the future.

It is a great little cottage on the beach for a winter getaway. We had trouble with the breaker going off and getting into the house, but the property manager via text was very helpful and got us the information we needed.

This home is a nature lover’s paradise located right between pea island and the national seashore! Sunrise on the beach and sunsets over the sound, check out the Salvo day use area for prime viewing less than 10 min down the road! Kitchen is well equipped and our pup made himself right at home.

Spacious comfortable house steps from water!

Lovely beach front home

We had a very nice stay at this rental. The house was very clean and comfortable! The kitchen was well stocked with high quality cookware, dishes, etc. The ocean view was excellent from both the first and second floors. Still Waters will be on the top of our list to return to again!!

My family had an excellent Thanksgiving at Still Waters. The location was excellent, the house and kitchen were well equipped with everything we needed. Communication with Vacasa was prompt and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

We loved our time here! Will definitely be back!

The front row seats ocean view from this home is incredible and the home is very comfortably appointed. The kitchen has absolutely everything you need to cook anything you want! There is a handy foot wash and shower on ground level so you don't have to track it too much sand, all of the beds are comfortable and the AC works perfectly. There are thoughtful touches such as a multi-charger for all of your phones, binoculars, and even a record player and some records and lots of puzzles and books supplied by the homeowner. If we could have changed our reservation for next year to this house we would have done so, unfortunately Vacasa will not allow that

Beautiful house and location! Pet friendly! Right down the street from restaurants and fishing pier.
Staff very helpful through the entire stay.
Will definitely be back!

Pee stained mattress, food crusted blankets, screens with head-sized holes, roof leaks into livingroom. Sliding door to porch in king room doesn’t open. Board on exterior stairs broken and hidden with a rug posing a safety hazard, broken coffee pot flooded counter top, grill crusted with greasy food, clothes and trash under house, filthy stained carpets. Windows and sills dirty. Management has been unresponsive
4.6
Great location with awesome view. Easy to explore all of outer banks from here. Not crowded like the northern areas.

Couldn't have been happier for a reunion with a daughter, two granddaughters, and a great grandson.

We had a great stay at Stillwaters. The ocean front view can’t be beat. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean’s waves coming in through the open doors leading out to the deck with a beautiful ocean view was amazing. The top deck off the living area offered an even better view. The house was very comfortable for the six of us, including 3 teenage boys. We always stay on Hatteras because we love to get away from the bustle of the northern towns and just have some peace.
The kitchen had seemingly everything you could possibly need to cook a feast at first, but we realized it was missing some basic things like potholders, dishwasher soap and garbage bags (you get only the bad that is there when you arrive) which was kind of strange. Keep in mind you will need to bring or purchase literally anything you would need to cook. Even salt and pepper. There is a coffee maker that takes grounds or pods, no coffee is provided. This is not a complaint, just a heads up. You are also expected to vacuum and sweep before you leave which I find very off putting since we pay a pretty good cleaning fee. The floor was a little sandy when we arrived and I’m guessing that’s because it was left to previous tenants. All in all though we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Great location on the beach in Rodanthe. The house is a little dated, but the price was great and the house has everything you need for a family! Like everything in the OBX….stairs! Nice lift for coolers, bags, etc. We’d stay here again.

Loved the ocean view and the big great room.

The house was ok but we have no water because a weather issue so we just stayed one day

Beautiful home, well stocked kitchen, wonderful views, convenient to beach and Pea Island for the Wings over Water festival.
Beds very comfortable. Communication with VACASA was efficient and helpful via text. Highly recommend this property!! Will be back!

This house was more then we could have asked for. The view of the ocean is really great. The best is from the top deck!! It is set back one house length but with no house in front of you , you will love it! It truly is on the ocean! You only have to walk about 150-200 feet to set up a spectacular beach spot. The house offers everything you need and is very nice with the decor. There is only one complaint, and it is not with the house or the ocean view, it’s the cleaning company. The house in in structural order but it was not cleaned upon our arrival. And we are not picky people, but we spent about two hours vacuuming/sweeping and cleaning what should have been done. They did make the beds but that was it, there was food and dirt and sticky stains everywhere. They did give us the ok they were done cleaning , so we did not arrive prior. But still book this house, we were not let down and will book again!! But give yourself a little to clean upon arrival LOL !! Enjoy!

This is our second visit and I'm still in love. If you're on the fence about booking Still Waters just do it! The house is welcoming, peaceful and comfortable. Just bring your food, everything else you might need is there. If you go do your self the favor of going to the beach to watch the sunrise, it's an unforgettable experience. This might just become a yearly trip for our family, we love it that much.

The hot water failed and I contacted Vacasa. I was told to expect communication and help to remedy the problem. After waiting all day, I called Vacasa again , and they said they would contact the local office - and that I should update them in 1 hour. No one came and I reported this after one hour. Very bad maintenance help...
4.6
You can open the doors and hear the sounds of the ocean. The house is beautiful, and has everything you may need. We spent the visit enjoying time on the beach, and spending time as a family.
4.6
Nice house with everything you would need

Really loved this location and the house! It was dog friendly and Vacasa (the property managing company) we’re super easy to work with and gave me no problems or fuss when my guests required service animals! The house was better in person and the views were great. The path to get beach access is right outside and the other neighbors were very friendly. Lots of people fishing, so seems like a popular spot for that as well. Also like the location of this house being basically beach front, without actually being in the water like many other NC properties - so we felt safe.
Washer and dryer on site right by the bedrooms and front door is great. And the kitchen is a little outdated, but everything else makes up for it. Also rooms are a bit small, but you get large beds and TVs in there as well. Only downside I’d say is the tv in one of the queen rooms and the upstairs living room were really outdated and it was hard to navigate the TVs. The tv in the king bedroom was fine.
4.6
Step out onto the upper back deck and have a picturesque view of the ocean. Plenty of seating and inside and out. Open concept common area. House was clean and kitchen was fully stocked
with any pot, pan, utensil, dishes or appliances needed. Beds were comfortable. Queen and full have access to the first floor deck again views of the ocean. Topping all of this was perfect weather ☀️🌊❤️

Our group of three adults and three children and one dog thoroughly enjoyed ourselves for our five night stay. There were a couple of items that needed minor repair, but overall the amenities and the provisions were quite satisfactory. The location relative to the beach was superb. I would highly recommend this property for a family vacation, and there is no question that we will definitely consider a return visit in the future.
4.6
The good news is that the location of the house is perfect. Also the layout, infrastructure (AC, plumbing etc.) all work. The views are wonderful. The bad news is that the house had not been cleaned when we go their at our check-in time and communicating with management to get this fixed was not easy. Very disappointing.
4.6
The house is pet friendly, has a cozy decor, air conditioning worked great during the heatwave. The lift is a great asset, we loved the multi charging station located in the kitchen and the flat screen televisions in the rooms. Great view of the sunrise on the beach.
4.6
Everything was absolutely wonderful during our week at Still Water's! The house had everything we needed plus more.
4.6
My family and I loved our stay. The beach house is comfortable and inviting. While it's nicely decorated my children could be themselves without tiptoeing around and my fur baby was welcome wich is a big plus for us. The view of the ocean is breathtaking, you'll love drinking your morning coffee on the balcony just looking at the water and relaxing. We will definitely return!
4.6
The home was beautiful in a quiet neighborhood, as advertised. It was stocked with all of the basic kitchen necessities. The only issues we experienced were the bathroom GFCI outlets did not work in either of the lower level bathrooms. The maintenance person came out to evaluate and concurred that they were not operable on Monday; however, no one came to repair them until the end of our vacation on Friday.
