The place was exactly as listed. The loft beds were comfortable, an extra fan for cooling and electric heater if needed. Friendly kind host! Great location to Denali Park.

It is a great place to experience the Alaska wilderness with great mountain views. Dave greeted us when we arrived, and we were on our own after that. You definitely need an all-wheel drive vehicle to get up to the cabin. The cabin is equipped with the basic necessities for your stay.

Even if you have AWD or 4wd still have Dave take you up to the cabin, it's a narly road. I've lived in the interior of Alaska for 25 years and driven my share of steep dirt roads. The road up to the cabin was among the worst.

Excellent cabin in beautiful settings

Four wheel drive is pretty much a must if you want to drive your vehicle to the doorstep of the cabin w/ your luggage. Or it’s probably a 15 min. hike. We didn’t have that but Dave was super helpful in arranging a pickup w/ our gear. He gave us a ride up, & ride down to our vehicle the next morning. Rustic, but super quiet relaxing stay!

For those who have a deep appreciation for mountainous landscapes and the tranquility of nature, this place is a dream come true. Nestled at the peak of a mountain, just six miles from Healy, the cabin offers breathtaking views. On clear days, the majestic Denali is visible right from the cabin.
The cabin itself is immaculate, equipped with a refrigerator and microwave for your convenience. The windows perfectly frame the stunning scenery, making every glance a picturesque moment.
Dave, the host, is exceptional. His friendliness and readiness to assist enhance the overall experience. If you're seeking a private retreat with scenic views, look no further. This place has everything you could wish for!

This cabin was truly an Alaskan experience. The road up to the property is a bit rough but it’s worth it to see the views at the top! Cabin was cozy and you can tell the host put a lot of work into making it nice.

Have you ever felt a special moment in time generated purely by breathing fresh air, and watching the seemingly random movement of the black spruce, and the delicate flutter of the aspen leaves, and the contrasting highlights of birch bark? Well… hang on to your hat. This is a great place to stay, as well as have access to anything or experience that you need to make for an incredible adventure. Dave will make you feel comfortable and leave you to make your experience what you wish it to be. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thanks Dave!

This was such a cute cabin. Very secluded up on the top of a ridge (Daltons Ridge). There is a turn off for a different set of cabins, keep going up! The driveway is intimidating and steep… however we have a AWD Honda CRV, and as long as you keep going quickly up and dont stop, it was fine. It even made it up the driveway in the pouring rain. Once you get up there, its worth it. The cabin is cozy. Bring your own food if you want to… there is a microwave, no stove or grill. There is a fridge. There is spotty wifi… but honestly i got the best service in the outhouse lol! The walk to the lake is more like 30 mins, but totally worth it. In the morning right around dawn i got up to use the outhouse, and there was a cow and calf moose walking around grazing in the woods, and by early morning they had actually both bedded down in the clearing next to our cabin! The views of the mountains were really good. The loft is a little cramped with the 2 beds… but it wasnt horrible. I almost think one of the beds could probably go downstairs and there would be better room… but as long as you make sure not to bump your head on the ceiling at night, you’ll be fine. The loft stays nice and warm, we didnt turn the heat up past 66, and even at that i woke up sweating. Dave said that if we wernt able to make it up the hill with the car he would come down and get us with his side by side, so just chat with him about that before hand if you only have a 2wd, he seems super accommodating.

As soon as we arrived, we knew that we should have planned to stay longer. The cabin was perfect--comfortable while still feeling a bit wild. The property was gorgeous, with a picturesque lake a short distance away. Dave was excellent to communicate with, being super helpful when we had questions and then giving us our space otherwise. If I ever go back to Alaska, I'd try to book here for the duration of my stay!

We decided to forego the reservation of two nights, as it’s very dangerous to drive up to the cabin. Ended up with wasting the reservation. The location on the map of the app is erroneous and the disclosed 15-minute to the park is completely off. The distance is instead 30-minute drive away. The worst cabin among all places we stayed in Anchorage, Talkeetna, Denali, and Fairbanks during this trip!

David handled all our needs, including arranging to deliver our forgotten trekking poles to us. The cabin was warm, clean, and all was as advertised. The view was fantastic from our cabin, and the walk to the lake was beautiful. It was just what we wanted during our Denali visit.

It was a great stay. We got to see Denali 3 days in a row. Weather was super.
Dave was a great host.

Super nice remote location. We we greeted by a moose on the driveway the first night. Driveway was exciting to go up and down and our all wheel drive did great. Dave was very accommodating and helpful.

Dave’s cabin was clean and fun! The drive to the cabin adds to the charm of the place as well. Dave was a great host.

Outside of the relatively steep driveway, I would highly recommend this location as a getaway destination for anyone looking for an adventure! Amazing views, wilderness right at the edge of the driveway, and an amazing nature hike that pays off with rewarding views of a secluded lake! My buddy and I really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back and do it all over again!!

The cabin is located on absolutely beautiful property. Tricky to get up after some heavy rains (Dave helped us with his 4x4!) and the views and hiking can’t be beat! A great place to stay when visiting the Denali area.

Remote. 10 minutes from town but felt like another world. Great views and sunrise. Loved it.

For those looking for an authentic bush experience in a remote part of the world. This is a great spot!

Had a fantastic stay at this cabin. Really felt off the grid even though you’re not far from Denali. Would definitely stay again and do not be scared away by needing 4 wheel drive. We didn’t have it and he took us right up the hill in his own side by side.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dave’s cabin. The proximity to the park was great and the view was better than we could’ve imagined.

The place was inaccessible to us due to poor road condition and we had to get another place last minute. The driveway is very steep and covered with loose gravel. Also, there was no cell connection in that area.

Cabin was clean and felt secluded but was close to the highway. and I’m pretty sure Dave does some kind of sorcery because there were literally no mosquitos. Fantastic.

Great Stay
We had a great stay at this property. Excellent views, quietness and privacy. The facilities were extremely clean from the cabin to the outhouse. Both were spotless. Great place to see some wildlife (we saw a cow moose with twins) and a nice view of Mt. McKinley / Denali. We will definitely stay here again if back up in this area.

Great cabin away from the Denali Highway madness!
We visited as a group of two gals (aged 30 - 40) + 1 dog, and loved our stay at the cabin! It was extremely tidy, but quiet and secluded -- way better than staying in the madness of town along the highway!
As stated, is a dry cabin, so you'll need to bring your own freshwater + food. A microwave was available, but we cooked using our campstove. Beds were extremely comfy, we just brought our sleeping bags + pillows. Property was a great place for my dog to roam, and the outhouse was squeaky clean.
We found the 2nd part of the driveway to be too steep for our AWD vehicle, but the owner came and picked us (+ ALL our stuff) up in his side by side, so check-in was a breeze. He also hauled our things back down to the car for us upon checkout. He even was available to help when my dog got stung in the face by a bee!
Being on top of the hill afforded us great views, plus a nice breeze that kept the mosquitos down. The windows had screens too which was a nice touch. All in all 10/10 would stay here again -- thanks for having us, Dave!

Excellent views but uncomfortable accommodation
The cabin is new and well built with excellent views of the Denali Mountains. The information advertised online, however, needs to be more accurate. When my family arrived, there were no pillows and bed sheets or blankets on the two small beds up on the loft. Such information was not stated on the site, so we were quite shocked that there were no basic amenities. On the other hand, the host (owner) was accommodating in providing a cot for a third family member, and in figuring out how the Wifi might work in the cabin. In the end, Wifi was only available spottily outside the cabin, and it didn't quite work as there were too many mosquitoes for anyone to use Wifi outside. The cabin is located on a ridge and the drive up there is very steep even with a 4 wheel drive vehicle. If you don't have a 4 wheel drive and have to park on a flatter surface below, the walk up with luggage to tow would be very trying.

Great Host with Dry Cabin with Good Views.
We really enjoyed the Dry Cabin experience. I had been raised as such, but my wife had to get used to it. This was the reason that we chose this location, for the isolation and primitive experience. Host was great on background and check-in.

The cabin was small, but cute. We didn’t need anything more. The view was amazing and peaceful. The access road is quite treacherous so be prepared, but if your vehicle can’t make the drive the owner, Dave, offered a ride up on his atv. If you want the true Alaskan experience I highly recommend this place!
