The view is amazing. The dock has wonderful chairs to sit on and is easy to use whether it’s bringing your own boat and docking or using the provided kayaks. Beds were comfortable and air-conditioning worked fantastic! We used the grill probably twice a day which was a great benefit. It was the perfect size for our family of three and Charity is very responsive and easy to work with. Looking forward to coming back

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Bear Cub Cabin! Charity had everything all ready and communication was great from beginning to end! The view is unbelievable - watching the sunset from the dock was our favorite! We had everything we needed and we can’t wait to visit again!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Bear Cub Cabin! We were in town to go to the Bristol race but after getting to this beautiful cozy cabin, we ditched the Friday night race. Everything was so nice and clean and there were lots of little touches to make our stay extra comfy and relaxed. We went fishing out of Fish Springs Marina, which was great. We loved the surrounding area (towns of Butler and Elizabethton), the people were super friendly. We enjoyed the slower pace an even the lack of cell service was nice at times. I highly recommend this cabin and the hosts!

My husband and I came here just for one night and it was the best one day getaway ever. We love to visit watauga lake and find that we always have to book a house that is way too big for us to get the amenities we want. 1000% book this place if you’re looking for a perfect property to swim in the lake, float, paddle board, and then grill out and have a fire. Also the bed was probably the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept on.

My family had a great stay the last week of July. The views from the house and fire pit are great. We cooked outside on the grill or fire pit almost everyday. Their dock is awesome and my kids had a blast jumping off of it 1000s of times a day. Great spot to swim and the sunsets down there are top notch!

We had a fantastic time! Everything was as pictured, house was clean and very well stocked with kitchen supplies, linens, and even some extras like games/coloring supplies! The steps down to the lake were no big deal for us, would be tough for someone with mobility issues but this is well advertised in the listing. Kids (9 and 11) had a blast on the lily pad floating mat. We would not hesitate to stay again and Charity went above and beyond! Excellent host and excellent stay!

We had a wonderful stay the Bear Cub cabin on Watauga Lake. The cabin was very clean and had many special little touches around it. My 6 year old and 3 year old loved the loft! Charity had toys and little things up there for children. There were drawers with coloring books and games as well. We ate outside every night and enjoyed the view from the outdoor dining table. The fire pit was very nice as well! The dock was clean and the floating mat was a hit with everyone! We decided that we need to get one now! We brought our own boat and launched it at Rat Branch on the other end of the lake. It was a beautiful 20 minute boat ride to the house along the main channel. They are putting in a new boat launch very close to the cabin, just down the road. One thing to note is that it was a bit too tight for two families. The master bedroom and the 2nd bedroom are right beside each other. The guests in the master bedroom have to walk through the other bedroom to get to the rest of the cabin. There is only a door separating the two bedrooms. However, this doesn’t effect my rating because it was so clean and beautiful and we spent most of our time outside. My husband and I have already decided that we would definitely come back just us and our kids or for a getaway just the two of us.

Spouse and I were looking for a quite and relaxing getaway for our anniversary and this cabin worked perfectly! Everything was so clean and the cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed. The view of the lake and all the changing leaves made for some spectacular photos. We are already planning to book again for next summer and bring the kids.

Very clean and well kept. The property is beautiful and just as described. We caught fish and swam off the dock, used the paddle board and canoe, enjoyed a nearby hike, and even got pizza from the Butler Trading Post. Great family getaway. Only thing to note is there are a lot of steps to get down to the dock. We managed with a 2 and 4 year old but it is a trip! Would love to come back.

Nice place. It was clean with nice amenities. The stairs to the dock are steep. The dock has plenty of space to enjoy the lake. Great hosts and a nice up to date cabin.

The owners worked with us when we had unforeseen circumstances arise. The place is perfect for a small family. Our kids are 5 and 13 so getting up and down the stairs to the dock was no problem. There are toys and books for kiddos and a perfect loft space they can play in. The dock is perfect to hang out on all day. We even swam when it rained. Not too much boat traffic. Perfect fire pit setting with a great view of the lake. Ceiling fans through out.. the back bedroom can get hot so may need a box fan or a/c unit added for hot summer months, it was hard to cool that one room. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We enjoyed it!

This was a beautiful place to stay. The lake was gorgeous.
Everything we needed as a family of 5 with five year old twins and an almost 2 year old. The kids loved the loft, toys, and swim dock. We enjoyed the paddle board and the lake is unbeatable. It was so clean and well stocked, everything we needed was there down to laundry detergent.
Only negative was the lack of AC in the back bedroom but we made due with the portable air cooler and a fan to blow air from the middle room to the back room. This probably isn’t an issue most of the year, but 95 degree days in July it did get toasty. Was thankful we brought a little fan.
The beds were very comfortable, we had great WiFi and TV. We couldn’t ask for more.
There are a lot of stairs down to the dock. We did have a little accident with our 5 year old who missed his step and landed in thorn bushes (he was fine minus a few scrapes) and a lot of stairs is the nature of this lake, just be careful and aware.
Very thankful to the owners for providing such a lovely vacation home that we could enjoy.
