About this house rental
"House of the Rising Son" - This beautifully decorated and privately owned beach house with ocean views from all 3 balconies, is in a perfect location in the heart of Surfside Beach. It is in walking distance of Surfside Pier and several great restaurants. Surfside Beach is a quiet, family beach only minutes away from Myrtle Beach and all attractions and entertainment.
For the 2023 season- New flooring in all the bedrooms and freshly painted throughout.
Featuring 7 bedrooms, 4 on first floor, 1 on second floor and 2 on third floor and 6.5 bathrooms. Master bedroom on each floor. This 5000 sqft spacious home can easily accommodate up to 22 people. Wireless internet access throughout the house.
The first floor has a master suite with a ocean view from its balcony. Featuring a king size bed and large, private bathroom. The 2nd bedroom on this floor has full size bunk beds and twin bunk beds and its own private bathroom with full size shower. The additional 2 bedrooms both feature queen size beds and each have there own private bathroom with full size showers. Also on this floor is a kitchenette with granite countertop, sink, coffee maker, mini-fridge and microwave.
The second floor has a spacious, open concept living area and fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, full size washer/dryer, 1/2 bathroom and another master suite. The master suite has a king size bed and trundle bed with private bathroom featuring tub/shower combination. There are 2 large wall-mounted flat TV screens in the living area and plenty of seating.
On the third floor, there is an additional master bedroom with an ocean view balcony, king size bed and trundle bed. The 2nd bedroom on this floor has a queen size bed. These bedrooms share a large bathroom with tub/shower combination.
The elevator is available for use and extends to 2nd floor, but we ask that you do not let children play on it. Instructions are provided for its use as it is different from commercial elevators.
Linens are provided as well as hand soap, one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, one roll of paper towels, and a trash bag in each trashcan. Any additional items needed beyond what is supplied, guests will need to purchase or bring with them.
Flat screen TVs are located throughout house as well.
Outside there is a private salt system pool that is professionally maintained, charcoal grill, and picnic table. The pool can be heated upon request. Home is located on a corner lot with extra parking and is directly across from a Public Beach Access.
The owners/host's live locally and can be easily reached at anytime.

Came here to celebrate our friend and take in a few of the golf courses, and it was an awesome house and area! Accessible to the beach and walking distance to the restaurants and bars, would definitely recommend staying here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves despite a week of rain. We loved the long dining table that fit our entire group, and the open-concept living/dining/kitchen area. The coffee table with little benches was perfect for jigsaw puzzles. We appreciated the elevator for our older family members and the extra twin with a trundle in the 2nd floor master bedroom for the little ones who woke up in the middle of the night and wanted to sleep with mom & dad. The kids spent as much time as possible in the pool. Our host was super helpful, responding right away when we had trouble operating the elevator and when some water got into the house through the balcony doors. There are a lot of fun indoor activities in the area - bowling, escape rooms, roller skating, etc. - that we took advantage of during the tropical storm. The house is just across the street from the beach, so when we did get breaks in the storm, we were able to spend a little time on the beach as well.

This was one of the best houses that we have vacationed in. We had a large group with us and the bathrooms and bedrooms worked out perfectly. We loved the location& having a pool is always an extra bonus. Walking across the street to the beach was great. The only complaint we had was that there weren’t enough towels. I spoke to the owner and she said she was going to take care of that problem. The owner was always very accommodating and took care of any problems we had immediately. I would highly recommend this house and hopefully we can stay here again sometime in the future.

Our group of 16 family members from DE, GA, OR, RI, DC had a wonderful time in this awesome beach house. It lived up to the previous rave reviews and exceeded our expectations. Clean, spacious, well laid out, very short walk to the beach, nice pool, responsive owner/manager (but we had no problems), nice quiet neighborhood. We especially enjoyed eating dinners together prepared in the well equipped kitchen. Loved the long table. Thank you!

Great location with easy access to the beach. Home was as pictured and described and seemed well maintained. Kitchen had ample items for home cooking. Ice maker in freezer was a little underperforming. Having a second full size refrigerator and dedicated ice maker would have been useful. Outdoor private pool was nice, but lacks a shaded area option in the pool area.

We enjoyed the location, spaciousness and the layout. The heated pool worked out well for relaxing after golf. Kitchen was well stocked
with utensils etc. Would definitely stay there again!

Our whole family loved the house and the area. They all went to the beach and swam in the pool and we played tons of board games. Ate lots of good food and just over all had a wonderful time being all together. Ages from 2 to 87. 4 generations. We all loved every minute. Thank you for sharing your home.

We especially loved the view and one min walk to the beach. I’m just so grateful that your beautiful home can accommodate the whole family. Simply Beautiful

The house was laid out as described and looked as it did in the pictures and all started well. The first two days we genuinely had a lot of conversations about making this a yearly vacation for our family.
I only have 1500 letters so ill be quick. There were 2 nights during our stay we had pest exterminators out during dinner dragging ladders and equipment through the house to deal with bats. We didn't say anything but why were they scheduled for service during our vacation? Then we found 2 small cockroaches in the bedroom and still didn't say anything. We finally reached out to the host when 4 different rooms found large roaches in their bags and we also found one on the kitchen wall. We were told the home had been treated 3 weeks ago but they were surprised that they were being found.
The biggest complaint we have was that we were blamed for the whole thing by saying that the cockroaches came in from outside and so we must have left the doors open and it was basically our fault. We always made sure doors were closed and usually locked up.
Host did offer to send out an exterminator (yes, that would have made 3 days or half our stay involving pest control). We attempted to reach a resolution prior to writing review but host basically blamed us and said we were over reacting. The sad thing is we just asked for a small discount on the stay (15%) due to the issues and disruptions and were told there was no reason for our request and did not seem interested in a resolution.

The house is lovely and well kept. It's in a perfect location. I can't say enough about the owner of the home. She was wonderful. She answered immediately any time we called or texted and took care of any issues right away. It was a truly great vacation home

This house was great and was able to accommodate all of our needs. My family ranged in age from 63 to 15 months and we had no issues! Elevator was a great bonus for loading and unloading the vehicles. Pool was great when we didn’t feel like going out in the sand or wanted a late night swim. With as many kids as we had, the pool was a great size for those who were just learning to swim. House was clean and stocked - no need for extra towels, blankets, etc.
I also appreciated the information posted on the refrigerator with things to do nearby, owner contact info, check out info, etc.
We did have a storm one night during our stay and the whole street lost power for about an hour - to no fault of the owners. When notified of the outage, the owners were very quick to respond via text and reported our power outage and kept me posted when power was projected to be restored by the energy company.
Would definitely stay here again!

Our family from Ohio and Florida had an amazing time at this beautiful home. I love that it is named "House of the Rising Son”!
Grateful for enough bedrooms/bathrooms to fit our family comfortably. Our favorite was the extra-large dining room table that made mealtime a gathering full of good food and laughs.
With the beach being right across the street, we headed there every morning and afternoon after grandkids naps for low tide.
The pool was amazing and the large carport allowed us to enjoy corn hole (we brought our own boards) out of the sun and into the evening with lights available.
Overall, this home exceeded our expectations, providing comfort, convenience (thank you for the elevator!), and a perfect setting for a family vacation. Highly recommended for a memorable retreat.

Our family had a wonderful stay at this lovely home. The house is awesome; plenty of room to relax, play games and enjoy each other's company.
The house is very clean. Everyone slept well in each of the 7 bedrooms. There is easy access to the beach only a half block away. Plenty room to park, can easily park 5 cars if needed. Has an elevator which is very useful in bringing luggage and coolers to the upper floors.
The communication with the owner was flawless, letting us know in plenty of time the means to gain access to the property and how to operate the elevator. If we ever get a chance to visit the Myrtle Beach area again, this house will be the first place we hope is available for us to rent once more.

As our family has dispersed to follow their hearts and careers, it's become increasingly rare for us to all get together. This place was perfect for that--a bed and bath for all the kids and grandkids, steps from the beach, great view of the beach from each of the balconies, large kitchen area, everything just as it looked in the pictures. Our hosts were super helpful. Couldn't recommend with more enthusiasm!

My family of 13 absolutely loved this home. The elevator was essential for my 86 year old grandfather, allowing him to fully enjoy himself with the rest of the family. The house is across the street from beach access, and it couldn't be more convenient. I chose this house for the extra large dining table - and the memories with everyone around the same table mean so much. Sherri responded to all my questions so quickly, and was very responsive before and during our stay. Thank you!
