About this apartment rental
Newly renovated 2 bedroom Victorian townhouse apartment with modern & contemporary features. 5 minutes walk from town centre & The Hoe waterfront, in Plymouth, Devon. Whether you're visiting Plymouth for a relaxing short break, for a graduation, for a holiday close to Devon / Cornwall's stunning beaches, or for a more energetic outdoor holiday of wild swimming, paddle boarding, coastal walks, & exploring Dartmoor. This stylish ocean city apartment provides the perfect venue for your stay.
Hi!
We are a family of 5 who loves Devon & the outdoors! We love living on The Hoe where we are a 5-minute walk from the beautiful promenade, the seafront, pebbled beaches, the historic barbican, and the southwest coast path.
We live upstairs so we are usually not far away should you need anything during your stay.
We wanted to provide a beautiful relaxing getaway for people who love the outdoors but want the home comforts of a modern apartment with all the mod cons. We are striving to be eco-friendly and sustainable where possible.
The location is perfect for a weekend city break on the coast, immersed in nature with many convenient amenities nearby.
Plymouth has an incredible wild swimming community, so there is always someone to take a safe swim with Ocean City Swimmers - Plymouth or Plymouth swim collective. The Hoe is also very popular for paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing & jet ski’s with many options for hiring the equipment that you need. Plymouth has a vibrant cycling and running community with organised weekly cycles across the moors and weekly park runs.
We have recently renovated this beautiful basement apartment. It has been a labour of love and we wish we could live in it ourselves. You should see the before & after transformation.
Despite being a basement the space feels very light, bright and spacious.
The open plan living/kitchen/dining area has a new traditional style kitchen with hints of modern brass fixtures and lighting, and beautiful handmade Italian porcelain greeny-blue tiles which remind me of the ocean.
You can seat 4 comfortably around the dining table. The kitchen includes a washing machine, small fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee machine, and most importantly a dishwasher. If you can't see the toaster it might be popped into the cupboard to save counter space. We have included a comfy sofa and a large 42 inch Smart TV connected to WIFI and Netflix included.
The 2 double bedrooms are cosy yet feel light and bright with splashes of green and gold, with nature-inspired photography on the walls. (I am a photographer so wanted to include some imagery captured by local female photographers on the walls capturing the beautiful local landscapes). We have fitted bespoke white Venetian blinds on every window.
Our modern new white tiled bathroom is small but has everything you need, with a toilet, wash hand basin, and a powerful electric shower. We really wanted to include a rainfall shower but the water pressure in this Victorian house wasn't strong enough to make it happen.
All the shower, washing and cleaning products are eco-friendly, sustainable, low waste, organic and cruelty-free. We provide a selection of fresh towels in every room.
There is a very small private courtyard at the back of the apartment which is accessible through the rear bedroom. It has a small table which is nice to sit with a coffee and breath in the fresh sea air.
There is space to hang your wetsuits in the garden.
We are striving to be a low energy, sustainable, environmentally friendly, low carbon, recycling, shopping locally, accommodation provider.
We hope this helps you decide whether this is the right location for your city break by the sea. If you have any questions please send me a message, I would love to answer any questions you have.
If we don't have availability for your dates, or you are visiting in a larger group, we have a wonderful community of Air BnB hosts locally that have stunning apartments a 10-minute walk from us that we can recommend. So please don't hesitate to enquire, we would love to accommodate your stay if we can.
We also attend an awesome local church called St Matthias. If you are staying on a Sunday and you fancy coming along you are more than welcome to join us. St Andrews C of E Church is just across the road.
