Our family loves going to Douglas lake with our boat. We didn’t have a great experience last year and found this property that we absolutely loved! The kitchen was stoked and we had an amazing view of the mountains. We also had a private dock and it made the week so much easier! We will book her again!

We enjoyed ourselves but the grass was tall and the boat dock was full of debris. The tvs had no good internet to work and there was no wifi. Was sort of clean but could have been cleaner . Over all its a very nice cabin but could use a little more attention . Especially if your going to be so strict on the rules.

My wife and I just wanted a few quiet days away from home, and being a lakefront log home made this seem ideal. We enjoyed our stay, but would likely not be returning for a variety of reasons, but first the good points:
PROS:
The cabin itself was very nice.
We liked the keyless entry idea.
The view was awesome.
The rockers on the porch were surprisingly comfortable.
The WiFi worked very well, although the sign on the fridge still says there is no WiFi.
The smart TV at least allowed us to watch a show on Amazon Prime we have been binge-watching.
The countertop ice maker was a nice touch.
The leather sofas were also very comfortable.
CONS:
The long gravel driveway is currently not in good condition for an average sedan, fortunately we had an SUV with AWD.
The mattresses were a bit lacking, we slept on the downstairs king which was "OK". We didn't sleep upstairs because it lacked a separate AC unit so it was a bit too warm.
The high-tech thermostat was very frustrating, as it would keep resetting itself to 72 shortly after setting it at 68. Every few hours during the night I'd have to get up and turn it back to 68.
The electric fireplace was obviously a low-end model that only glowed red (no flame action), and it was barely visible behind the screen.
The TV was way small for this type of rental.
There were no working lights either in or under the microwave hood.
Various other minor things, but overall it's a decent place!

The pictures dont do this home justice. The property is breathtaking!
The only advice I have for anyone considering this rental is, get your groceries and supplies on your way in. The closest gas station is about 10 minutes away and the nearest grocery store (and Starbucks) is about 20 minutes away. Iys so worth it though. If youre outdoorsy, you will fall in love with this property!
I wish we would have stayed longer. We will definitely be back.

Outdated,need a big overhaul.
Dishwasher, trouble closing door. Dishes coming out with a layer of calcium that is hard to remove.
Only 1 small kichentowel.
2 coffee makers, one defect. Bought coffee and filters for nothing.
No sponge or brush to clean sink or countertops.
Bathroom toilet and bathtub with brown streakes.
Toilet to low,
Sliding doors on bathtub do not slide because of calcium deposit
Copper sink stinks
Bathtub to high for older people to get in, no grip
No hairdryer, had to buy one
Squeaking cabinet doors. Repaired a leaning shelf.
Had to assemble the vacuumcleaner.
No iron board
Dryer to high,cannot see display.
Provide a stepstool?
Do not open thedrawers of the armoirs to far, they fall out
Duvet too big and heavy.
Flimsy fitted sheet and no mattresspad
Getting in to the bed will lower you a couple of inches
No clost space either there is a bed in front or they are stuffed with junk
For 7 people only 8 clothehangers
Floortiles of upstairs bathroom are slippery
Provide your renters with some water,Kcups, bigger piece of soap, body wash, etc.,some cleaning supplies, kitchentowels and dark coloured beachtowels.
If the white bathtowels are used in the yard by the lake they will be orange from the soil.

The Hidden Cove was just as pictured ! It was clean, the check in was easy and communication with manager was great. We decided to add an extra day to our stay and that was easy to do. We loved the big wrap around porch over looking the lake. We will definitely return.

Very nice. Just can't wait to return when the water is higher.

I recognize that litter can wash ashore. But it looked as if the guests who stayed before us thought it was a good idea to leave broken bottles and beer cans on the shore. My two young sons were bummed.

4 adults and 3 kids spent a relaxing week at Hidden Cove.
House has a great view of Douglass lake. It’s located on a quiet road. There is ample shoreline for fishing.
As noted the house does not have Wi-Fi. Not an issue because cell service was strong.
The walk from the house to the lake is 100 yards downhill so getting back to the house from the lake was an uphill walk. Not an issue for us but could be a challenge for people with mobility issues.
We rented a pontoon from swann marina. We also had a 15ft boat my brother in law brought. The floating dock used to tie off your boat is only 7ft wide. A bit small for a 20ft pontoon or 15ft boat.
Overall we loved our first trip to Douglass lake.

The cabin itself is great. The pictures on line are a good representation of the cabin. It was situated on a nice hill overlooking the lake - just a great location with a great view of the lake and mountains. It is very remote - about 20 minutes from a store. That is just an FYI for future renters. If you are looking for someplace close to shopping, this isn't it. If you want remote, then this is perfect. There also isn't WIFI at the cabin - again just and FYI. The listing says smart TV, so I just assumed WIFI was present - my error. There is a good cell signal from across the lake, though. There also isn't a canoe/kayak as per the listing. The only issue I had with the experience was the lack of proactiveness to a plumbing issue with the rental agency. We checked in on Saturday to a known issue with a leaky kitchen sink that took until Monday to get partially resolved. Overall, though, and amazing place. Bring your binoculars!

Our vacation in TN was enjoyable. There is plenty do and the landscape is beautiful. Staying at the "Hidden Cove" cabin was ok, but there were some aspects that would prevent me from booking the cabin again. Its water is untreated (or so it seems) well water. Bathing or drinking it is undesirable. The closets all had items stored in them that prevented hanging clothes up in them. One closet was completely blocked with a bed slid up against it. The cabin advertised amenities that included a hot tub, but there was none. The toilets are great for small children but for an adult they are short and small in diameter. It's like trying to sit on the floor. Having access to the lake is very nice for fishing but I wouldn't recommend the cabin for anybody that has a disability involving their legs. Access is steep and return to the cabin could be exhausting for someone who is not of average health. The garbage can on the deck for bagged trash in not bear proof and we had to clean up after a couple of (probably) racoon nighttime adventures. The can did not have any means to lock it. The location of the cabin is peaceful with an excellent view. Deer and turkey were everywhere. Our goal of enjoying each other's company and relaxing were met, so in that sense I was satisfied. If you are planning on going to Pigeon Forge, Sevierville or Gatlinburg allow for extra travel time as compared to staying in a cabin at the western end of Douglas Lake.

Amazing view
The view of the lake is amazing. We will definitely stay here again.

The house simply was not appointed properly
The house didn't have internet, hair dryer, enough towels, bare bones kitchen, no shampoo or conditioner, barely soap, 2 pods for dishwasher, 2 pods for coffee, 1 paper towel roll. Our stay was booked for 5 nights. My sister had this house booked earlier for the exact time period. They cancelled her reservation and then a few weeks later re-listed it for almost double the price. Since no other properties were available I was stuck booking and paying well above normal pricing. Renters beware!

Wonderful get-away
Hidden Cove feels like a log cabin tucked away on a mountain lake far from anyone, yet it is 30 minutes by boat or car from essentials. We rented a boat several days from Swan's Marina and enjoyed the perfect lake water.
