Wonderful 1883 Cabin stay!
If you want a rustic stay on Jonesborough, this is perfect for you. We had luxurious towels and some excellent kitchen appliances mixed in with the old fashioned charm of living in the real history of the area. The landscape, birds, horses made every bit of our time on the porch so special. Our host was excellent and made the times we needed to communicate with him comfortable.

If you love old homes then stay here! It is wonderful! You get the peace and quiet of the area and the feel of being back in the 1800’s. You still have the modern day luxury items you want. The bed downstairs isn’t very comfortable, it is a little dusty but we would stay again. He had done a great job with this home.

This trip was for my 12 year old son. He had the absolutely best time. The cabin reminded him of little house of the prairie 😊 he's an old soul to be so young and had the best time ever.

It's a place that throws one back to the old days--two sleeping areas are up a ladder rather than stairs. As a result, this place is not suitable for the disabled. The bathroom is not accessible, as the toilet and the clawfoot tub are difficult to manage. As well, the bathroom sink is not suitable for the disabled or the short as it is too high and cannot be reached into easily. But if all are able-bodied, this is a great place to kick back, enjoy a fantastic cabin built in the late 1800s, and see horses or cattle at the fence!

What was meant to be a cabin stay turned into more of a camping trip because of some unusually cold weather in TN. Thankful for the fireplace, a lot of logs and firestarters, extra quilts, and a very warm bathroom. Would be useful to have some posted guidelines on working the vents and dampners on the fireplace

Nice cabin with loft beds. Wood cookstove converted to electric. Wood fireplace was awesome! Would go back for sure.

The cabin is charming and takes you back in time to a much simpler way of life. Quiet, private and beautiful views. Highly recommend, great Host and property!

The owner was a very nice person and replied back on everything I questioned. The house wasn’t very clean but he did tell us that his housekeeper had been out. I had to wash sheets before sleeping on them and the beds wasn’t very comfortable at all. There was also spider webs around everywhere. Like I said very cute place but needs some attention.

We and our 2 pups enjoyed many aspects of our stay. The cabin structure is both impressively built and historic. We greatly enjoyed the mix of 1800's living plus the benefits of a powerful A/C (wonderful in July) as well as superfast internet. We had no cell service but once we were able to hookup to wi-fi and switch the phones over to wi-fi calling, all was perfect. Also, a special thanks to Ricky and his housekeeper... we were enjoying our stay so much, we lost track of time and were 40 minutes late leaving. They were both most understanding and we were very appreciative. Thanks Ricky!

Absolutely enjoyed staying at this property. It is as described, an old 1880's cabin with modern amenities that gives the imagination an opportunity to wander and wonder what life was like back when the area was being settled.

Wonderful stay!
If you're looking for primitive feels yet with creature comforts, you have to try this place!
You're in a beautiful, peaceful environment yet only 7-8 minutes to historic Jonesborough.
If you visit late May- June, prepare to take to the front porch swing for a mesmerizing lightshow across the property by all the fireflies.

Has great potential
It's a quaint place to stay and is like walking back in time. One reason we stayed here was because we saw the owner was a veteran and we try our best to support our military in any way we can. Check in and check out was a breeze. Upon arrival we observed how filthy it was. My mom and I cleaned the cabin for 2 hours, including sweeping, mopping, washing sheets and dishes. We had a 2 year old who enjoys playing cars on the floor on his way with his parents and did not want him crawling on a floor that looked like that. The swifter pads were black for all sections of the cabin. Once we had it cleaned where we could actually feel okay with it, it was an enjoyable experience. It is a quiet place and not too far away from everything. During our stay the owner was very good with communication; however, once we got back home and I messaged him regarding our stay and the cleanliness I have not heard anything back from him. This property has great potential with the right amount of upkeep (cleaning specifically).
