The ball is rolling in little Washingtons revitalization of its waterfront community and it’s historic district. Sterling house is ideally located on the more quiet and peaceful portion of the water. A short enjoyable walk gets you to the center of their park, shops, restaurants, breweries. The Social district was Very well attended And we easily found activities and live music. Also close by were places for kayak boat and bike rentals. A Few blocks away was a park with pickleball and tennis courts. The house was very comfortable. Historic but with many updates that made it more modern and comfortable. The back porch has a large comfortable swing from where you can enjoy views of the river. We were also happy to be able to enjoy the trip with our dog.

This was our second time renting from William, so obviously we love the house, location and William is an excellent host. He is extremely responsive. The check in could not be easier. Everything you need for the stay is provided. The very best part is sitting on the back porch swing with a nice breeze from the water!

Charming older home on the river. Porch has amazing views and a wonderful swing! Porch was shaded and provided the perfect place for meals and relaxing while watching the boats on the river. House was very clean and well stocked. Very please with our stay. Would love to rent again.

We often visit Washington to go fishing on the Pamlico. We usually make it a day trip. We wanted to stay for a few days with our dogs and booked the Sterling House. It was a relief to find a place that allows dogs, first of all. The house was clean. I loved the character of the house. The view was amazing and peaceful. I would definitely recommend booking a stay here.

Nicely maintained home with all you need for a perfect stay.
Nestled on a quiet street just minutes walk from historic downtown and riverfront walk.
Large covered porches with the back porch having a river view and we enjoyed an occasional slow moving train going past.
Management is very accommodating and fast to respond.
Highly recommend.

The Sterling House was by far the best property to celebrate for my graduation. It was unforgettable and William was very kind and thoughtful throughout the entire process. Best VRBO experience ever had.

Charmingly appointed home nestled in a lovely quiet neighborhood along the river. Included all the amenities needed for a restful stay. Great proximity to downtown to walk and enjoy a meal. Perfect location to use as a base camp for birding the surrounding area. Has lots of comfortable outdoor spaces to unwind with a glass of wine after a long day. Perfect backyard for our Labrador to enjoy some free time in the evenings.

Pictures on the listing do not do this place justice. Its a quiet neighborhood with very peaceful surroundings. Inside the house was very clean upon check in and the process was very simple. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk to and from downtown every day. William was very communicative and easy to work with. He even had a card and flowers for my wife as we were celebrating her birthday that weekend. Not to mention he got some ice cream sandwiches too! Would highly recommend this property to anybody who enjoys good views and a very dog friendly home!

This home was a clean, comfortable and perfect place to stay for our weekend getaway for a family wedding. It’s on the water and in a quiet neighborhood but yet it was very close to the uptown wedding rehearsal dinner @Hackneys and to the reception at the Mulberry House on Main Street. Would love to return at a later date to tour the town.

Greatly enjoyed our stay at the Sterling House. Spent evenings on rear porch looking out to the Pamlico River. Walked into town for lunch, dinner or just to meander along the riverfront. William was a wonderful host.

This is a lovely home in a peaceful location. Set on the river, it was a soothing place to wake up in the morning. The host provided everything we needed for our two night stay. Washington, NC offers a rich history with wonderful shops and restaurants.

Cute old house in a historical community on the river. The owner was very helpful. Unfortunately when we got there the a/c was on 75 and it took us all night to get it cooled off in the house. Then we found cockroaches in the kitchen. The house could use some updating. Update the furniture and artwork on the walls it would be a perfect place to stay

Sitting on the back deck, looking out over the sound, convinced us we had to move to North Carolina.

Check in and check out could not have been any easier. Home was exactly as pictured. The back porch view and experience were exceptional. We enjoyed the short walk to downtown and the water front park. The restaurants we visited were superb. Don’t miss prime rib night at The Bank Bistro. What a lovely home and a beautiful small town.

Our stay was fantastic! What a beautiful house with fantastic view of the Pamlico River! William was available to answer any questions prior our stay through the Vrbo online tool! I would highly recommend this property as a pleasant and relaxing place to stay. It is very convenient to downtown as well as the river boardwalk. I can’t say enough great things about William and his property! Both are 5 star along with two very big two thumbs up!!!

We had an incredible stay in Washington to visit my sister who lives in nearby Greenville. We wanted something that was quiet and felt like a mini-vacation getaway, away from the hustle and bustle of a larger town. This property was absolute perfection. William is an incredible host - accommodating, communicative, and respectful of privacy. We can't wait to stay again. We fell in love with the small-town charm of this house and this town! We will definitely be coming back for another visit.

The property was exactly as described. Check in and out were simple. Great communication from host. Beautiful water view, with swing on the back porch. Enjoyed walking to town to explore. Great friendly neighborhood!!

My wife and I spent a weekend there with our two dogs. There's a great backyard space where they can run, with a nice view of the water. The place was super clean and William couldn't have made check-in and check out any easier. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood on a one way street ... a manageable walk to the Washington downtown/waterfront, or about a 3 minute drive to there if your stay is as rainy as ours unfortunately was! Highly recommend, especially if you are looking for a place that is dog friendly.

The Sterling house a charming historical home and has a backyard that is right on the river. We loved the room off the porch where you can watch the ever changing wind and currents.
The location is walkable to downtown but allow enough time.
William was very helpful with information for our side trip to New Bern and locations of the local grocery stores.
We appreciated the parking space beside the house and having a washer and dryer.
Don't miss the river walk and the great restaurants downtown.
A perfect home away from home.

We found the Sterling House to be extremely welcoming, clean while offering relaxing waterfront views. From the quaint front porch sitting to back porch relaxation looking out over the water, both created a very relaxing environment. Out stay kept us in the historic district and, for us, just a short drive with plenty of parking availability downtown made this easy. We could have made a walk in about 10 to 15 minutes but for this trip we elected to drive. William was an excellent host bei g extremely responsive to any inquiry and even keeping us updates on weather conditions for our outing plans.

We had such a nice stay, the home was lovely and peaceful. The owners were so nice. Everything was perfect. A short walk or drive into downtown, a fishing pier. We found a restaurant we loved called Blu. Can’t wait to go back for another stay.

We were so pleased with this home and its owners. The home is quite lovely, with comfortable furnishings, all the amenities that we needed, and was pet friendly as well. The location close to the historic district, quaint shops, and the water, was perfect, with a rear porch overlooking the water. The arrival and departure requirements were minimal. The home was super clean and fresh. Even with four of us, we always had hot water for showering. Our only change would be to move the TV into the larger family room, as the living room was a bit small for all our of us. We plan to stay here again soon.

We needed a short vacation to de-stress and this was perfect. We could sit on the deck and enjoy the view. The town has several nice restaurants and we tried 4 of them. All had delicious food. There was a park nearby and a beautiful river walk.

We spent a easy and comfortable few days at The Sterling house. William had dog beds and food bowls ready for us. There is a big yard (unfenced) and a large, grassy dog park a 10 min walk or 2 min drive. The house had everything we needed to cook a few meals and an awesome back porch with a view to eat and visit on. Thanks William!
