Myself, with my 2 longtime best friends, stayed 3 nights at the home, from the 13th to the 16th. We visited the Fair, enjoyed some shopping and a lot of time together. The house is welcoming, the reservation process and communication with the owner were hassle-free and prompt. It was very clean, spacious, comfortable. The location was easily accessible and very quiet. I would recommend staying here, 3 separate bedrooms and bathrooms offer a great deal of privacy and space.

It is in a very quiet location. Just what we wanted.

The property was just as expected or a little more spacious in fact. Had all of the items that we needed and very clean. We were in town for the National Finals Rodeo at the Fairgrounds and was an easy commute.

It was a family “girls weekend “. We all had a fabulous time. It was an extremely hot and humid weekend and the house stayed nice and cool. Steve’s house is in a nice quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed watching all the wildlife meandering through the backyard.

Highly recommended for a place to stay! This was the first time we rented a house unsight unseen for our vacation and this house did not disappoint at all! The house was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The location was great! We will be back!

We met up for an early thanksgiving with 4 young children. This property was perfect. Spacious and clean, in a beautiful neighborhood. The property manager was responsive but not invasive. Highly recommend.

Great city property with a country feel! Beautiful mid century, modern home with current amenities! Enjoyed the stay with my adult child! Deers wandering through the front yard every night was a bonus!

We stayed here for a murder mystery party I threw for my husband's 30th birthday party. It was the perfect setting for this event. Plenty of space and a large fridge to hold all the food needed! It had gorgeous views and the windows in the living area were phenomenal! All in all, it exceeded my expectations for this event!

Our visit was a mix of funeral concert and family gathering. This property was so very accommodating with room for us all.
So many activities just around the corner, but we felt so safe and tucked away.
It was a incredible fall weekend. Great time to visit this area.

The house feels like it is in the country, but is very close to services and only 20 minutes from downtown Des Moines. It is very comfortably equipped.

We came to town for a week for a cattle show at the state fairgrounds. We were super pleased with how easy it was to get to and from and anything we would need to stop for was conveniently along the way. House was super comfortable and spacious for our family. Also very private.
Things that might just be helpful for a family to know if you're traveling with really little kids or older adults is that the main entrance is up a nice rock stair case. It wasn't an issue for our family but if my parents would have been along it wouldn't have worked out.
If we ever find ourselves back in the area we will surely be looking to stay here again.

We met my parents there for a long weekend. The yard in late May is more beautiful than the pictures show. So nice to sit outside on the porch and relax. Easy access to Des Moines and surrounding area; drove around Drake University where my Dad graduated 60 years ago. Great location with good restaurants nearby. Lots of new of new stores and development in the Altoona and Ankeny area. Not a bad drive up to Ames/Iowa State and Reiman Gardens either.

Everything went well, the property has some quirks but plenty of space for everyone. I would like this place to get a grill, at least a nice charcoal one.

My brother, his wife and 17yr old shared this property with my husband and I for a quick visit to Iowa to see our parents. This lovely home will now be our forever meeting point to see mom and dad. It is so quiet and the location is perfect for a quick run to shops and back and forth to Des Moines. We even got treated to a big beautiful lightening storm that we watched from the amazing window views. Just perfect! Thank you so much for a great experience.

What a great place. The house was plenty big enough that’s for sure. I was in town for work and found this gem. After work I could go there and unwind in complete silence. They have a really nice bar down the road that you can walk to and literally everything that you would need like a place to eat or shopping was right down the road. It was a perfect location and highly recommend for workers or a family that wants to get away and not be inconvenienced. I really enjoyed this work trip and will stay here again if I’m ever in the area.

Awesome stay per usual! Quiet location, great wildlife. Our host shoveled the walk for us during an Iowa snowstorm! This was more then expected as they had already allowed us to add a night at the beginning of the trip to beat the storm! Great stay.

Location, Location
This property was in the perfect spot for launching our day trips in the area. We enjoyed being able to ride down the street to hop on the bike trail! It was an easy drive to Winterset, Pella, and of course into the heart of Des Moines! It was so quiet being at the end of the road! The house is a gem with the mid century floor to ceiling windows! There are a few quirks, but it seems the owner is working at restoring its beauty! We would love to return to this spacious home!

Excellent & Comfortable
We loved the country setting of this VRBO. In addition, having room for our whole family to spread out (including our 2 dogs) was helpful and relaxing. We loved this VRBO.

Peace and quiet, great view!
You have the peace and solitude of being in the country, but lots of restaurants and fun stuff just 3 minutes away.
The house is very roomy, and a really cool style. Steve was very helpful and quick to reply
