We had a group of four and had so much space. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped so we were able to cook for three nights. The location was also amazing, a <10 min walk to the Smallwood Store and a short drive to get to nature. Kay and Mike were also extremely helpful with ideas for activities. Highly, highly recommend this stay for anyone interested in visiting the Everglades.

Chokoloskee
Decent little place to stay. The floors were dirty, but there were provisions for us to clean them. The air went out the last day we were there, with no response to the messages we sent. Received a message the next day “sorry, don’t know what happened, we’ll get someone there today” which was the day we checked out.

Great spot for exploring the Everglades
We enjoyed our stay on Chokoloskee! The Chucka Charmer was perfect for our family with two kids, 10 and 8. It is well-maintained and well-supplied and is a reasonable driving distance to most of what we wanted to see and do on our trip to the Everglades. It's also a very quick walk down to a little beach next to the historic Smallwood Store. Check-in was a breeze with Kay. Note that another home has now been built right next to the Chucka Charmer (where in the current photos, there is now an open space) so you will be very close to the neighbors, if that kind of thing is important to you on your vacation.
Be aware that while there are several restaurants and a VERY small grocery store in Everglades City, you will likely need to get most of your food in Marco Island or Naples. Similarly, be aware that the cell service on Chokoloskee is VERY limited-- I had a lot of difficulty even calling a nearby restaurant to place a carryout order! Again, just things to note as you are thinking about your stay.
But we loved the fact that the island was very remote but also close to what we wanted to see. A great spot!

Home away from Home
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chucka Charmer. The home was well stocked and very clean, came as advertised. We fished and played all day and then came back to grill and enjoy home cooked meals.
The host’s are really good people who are attentive to your needs and work hard to ensure your stay is enjoyable as well as comfortable. We will return to enjoy this place again as well as recommend it to our friends and family.
Thanks Mike and Kay for an enjoyable stay.
