Malibu Lifestyle! Forget civilization in this Cape Cod Malibu beach house that sits just 45 seconds above Pacific Coast Hwy and enjoys 180 degree ocean views from Palos Verdes to the Anacapa Islands. 4 bedrooms. The spacious master bedroom has walk-in closets and it's own living-room size outdoor deck, with hot tub. A second even larger deck downstairs makes this an excellent entertainment home - and equally suited for private retreats. The kitchen is well-appointed, and contains an indoor grill. Almost all rooms have ocean views. There are two fireplaces. The ample, landscaped yard and sprawling lawn makes the setting private and serene. 5 minutes to Trances shopping center and Zuma Beach. Best scenic beaches are as close as one minute by car - or walk to them (see map). Hike at nearby Charmlee Park. Nearby restaurants. Perfect for vacations, retreats or short term luxury housing.

Spacious and comfortable home, perfect for a 3 generation stay for ages 7 to 80. We loved the garden and outdoor spaces. Cozy living room. Ample beach towels and lots of coffee pods!

This property was beautiful, roomy, close to local beaches, had great views of the ocean and swimming dolphins, and great outside living/dining spaces. We had a fantastic trip except for a few problems with the home that should be a Red Flag for families with children.
* Refrigerator in kitchen was broken and would not cool below 60 degrees. Freezer wasn't working either. We called the owner and got no response.
*The property was listed as kid friendly, but when we arrived we found a prescription bottle of pills in a easily accesible cabinet in the dining room.
*Empty beer cans, an e-cig, and a used ENEMA were found in a cabinet under the sink in the master bath!
*Two tazers were found in the downstairs bedrooms!
NOT a KID SAFE property!
*One of the bed frames in the downstairs bed was missing a wheel so the bed leaned to one side by 3 inches and the beds were very squeaky.
*Jacuzzi Not properly maintained. The water level was low and it was dirty.
All of these things are easily fixed if only the owner would respond to our calls/emails.

The home is great for families, out in west Malibu, very peaceful with a great view. 4 bedrooms, owner suite upstairs, 3 bedrooms downstairs. beds were comfortable and sheets were clean and crisp.
some reviews talk about the owner being slow to respond. I think those are older reviews, since this week I always received a response within 1 hour of posting a message. Perhaps those reviews were from when the host was less experienced, he was great this week.
I always worry when a listing seems too good to be true: is it a bad location? are the pictures from an older date when the home was in better shape? my experience was that this property listing is totally accurate.
one note: it's fairly far from LA so if you plan on spending time in the city, expect to drive an hour or more one way to do anything. if you are looking to avoid the city and beach traffic, it's perfect. It is also an easy drive to Ventura, which is really nice too. I would stay again if I get the chance.

We wanted to stay somewhere that had some amazing views, we could relax, and yet be close other amenities.
The was plenty of towels and large beach towels, things to cook with, and beds are comfort. The home is a little older and the water pressure not the best, but we worked it out.
As for cleanliness, there were a few things that may want to have cleaning company spruce up hair and spider webs.

Got together with extended family in this beautiful home with a gorgeous view. Spent lots of time hanging out on the deck, watched sunsets and enjoying the hot tub. Close to shops, beaches and restaurants.

Great home with plenty of space for a large family. Couple of notes for owner- carpet on upstairs patio deck needs to go- it's in really bad shape. WIFI only worked sometimes. I sent you several messages about this- and was disappointed you never responded- nor to our request for an early check in. However, all in all it was a great experience!

Unique and charming abode with lots of space for gathering inside and out. Very relaxing Malibu experience for our family group of eight adults attending a wedding. Host provides excellent recommendations of beaches and restaurants in area. Loved every minute of it.

Internet connection is intermittent which didn’t bother me too much. The AC unit upstairs is loud so I would not advise turning it on at night.

This house was a perfect fit for our family trip to Malibu. The size of the house was why we were drawn to stay here and it provided enough space for everyone to retreat when they needed a break from family. The views were amazing from the 2nd level patio and we were able to enjoy sunset from the hot tub. Some of the appliances were older and need repair, but overall we couldn’t have been happier with our stay in Malibu.

We were looking for a nice escape from Texas heat and a relaxing place for our daughter to getaway from the city for a few days. The home was exactly what we were looking for and matched the description given by the hosts. The view of the ocean was incredible and we enjoyed relaxing by the fire pit each evening. the location was perfect for enjoying multiple beaches and near quite a few hiking trails. We definitely look forward to returning.

We had a fabulous time over our three nights. We were celebrating my daughters graduation from Med School and the different spaces in the home and on the decks made it possible to have small groups of meaningful conversation, plus the big dining room table fit all of us. Since it was a pretty gray weekend the many many soft cozy blankets were well used. Purrrrfect.

My partner and I wanted a quiet place out of the city where we could bring our dog Sam. This fit the bill perfectly. It is in a more remote area of Malibu but still close enough to groceries etc. It’s a short drive to Leo Carrillo State Beach which is one of the few dog beaches in LA County and it is right across the road from El Pescador beach. Great views to the ocean from the upper and lower decks. Loved the fireplaces and jacuzzi.

Overall we had a great stay at this home. The place is starting to show its age and wear. We had unusual amounts of rain while there and some of the Living Room windows leaked water, water came in along the header of the Dining Room doors to the front deck, and water also came in along the floor at the Kitchen back doors. The homeowner had plenty of beach towels handy to allow us the to control the water intrusions. However, the view was absolutely awesome and the place was overall clean. The homeowner, after several text messages, had a service person come when we had trouble with one of the ovens and the upstairs water heater. Malibu is an awesome place to visit, and this place was in a perfect location.

My family and I had an Awesome family vacation. This house is wonderful and the property is beautiful. Amazing views and we really enjoyed watching the sunset. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and will be back again. I appreciate the owner Tom as he is very helpful!

We had a wonderful family holiday in this spacious and comfortable home with an unbeatable view and location. Arriving to this house after a tumultuous trip through winter storms and hassles was like a breath of fresh air.
The upstairs primary suite was perfect —on the opposite end from the other bedrooms and upstairs from the rest of the house, with its own private deck and a view to die for. Two of the downstairs rooms have French doors opening onto the downstairs porch, also with water views. The dining room and living room are very large, with adequate space for all— unlike most vacation rentals that might have beds for your entire party but no room for you to actually be together . In general, the space, view and location could not have been better.
There were a couple rough edges— cleanliness of the hot tub (a couple people got rashes), an unevenly equipped kitchen missing some essentials (like oven mitts, a mixing bowl), outdoor furnishings that need replacing. The security cam on the side porch points at the outdoor gathering space and seems to records your every move, presumably with audio, was off-putting.
But those things were minor and could easily be remedied. I would happily stay here again and hope to return soon.

This house was perfect for a family Christmas celebration. There were eight of us and the layout and space was great. We especially loved the decks and the views of the ocean. It’s an older home with lots of character and charm. The downside was the state of the kitchen. We cooked a lot and were challenged because the kitchen was not well stocked. For example, there were no measuring spoons, mixing bowls or colander, the non stick pots and pans were very scratched, and there were only a few coffee mugs. The range light was burned out and the fan not working. Fortunately we brought a few of our own pans and kitchen tools and were able to make do. Another issue we had was a vibration noise that occurred in the wall of the master bedroom. We only noticed it when sleeping as it woke us up several times a night. It’s likely related to the heating system as it turned on and off periodically. Despite these issues we had a great stay.

Husband and I have made tradition of a pre-holidays get together with a group of close friends (as opposed to family from Thanksgiving on). We chose the house for this year's meet-up. This home has a spacious and open feel and layout, including lots of green outdoor space and decks. Kitchen had everything we needed. And the ocean view was amazing. The weather was clear but chilly so the fire pit was appreciated.

We stayed at this home for a family birthday getaway, and ranged in age from 4 months to mid 80's. The pictures of the views and the exterior are exactly how you will find it. The house needs some TLC, but it was more than adequate for our needs. We had no wifi, as it could not be fixed by the repairman who was there when we checked in. The property manager did not return my calls regarding this, or on the problems with the hot tub (leaking water on day one and then inoperable on day two). There was obviously still plenty to make this a fabulous vacation, but that was disappointing. Prior to that, he had been easy to contact. Based on the location and size of the house, we would very happily make a return visit.

The view was outstanding that was the best thing about this place. It is old and could certainly use some updates- especially for the amount I paid I was a bit disappointed. It wasn’t very clean- hair in the bathroom, No wifi
