We stayed for 11 days, with our party of six. We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is spacious with a comfortable layout. The location is very nice, near enough to area attractions, surrounded by trees, and fairly secluded. The river in back with the swimming hole is a wonderful bonus. Thank you to the owners for sharing it with us.
There some problems worth mentioning:
the basement is uninhabitable due to the very strong musty smell. So we couldn’t use the bedroom downstairs. Fortunately we did not have to use it because our 7th family member was unable to join us at the last minute.
Upstairs bathroom window next to the shower has no window covering: no blinds nor curtains. We had to rig a covering so we could use the shower without exposing ourselves to passersby.
Carpets are stained and dirty.
Several closets are locked which did not give us handy space for our clothes.
Outdoor bear-proof trash can latches must be carefully engaged after putting in trash. When the trash man picked up trash from previous guests on our first day, he said one of the two cans was missing, probably rolled into the gully by a bear attempting to chew its way in. I later went down to find it and bring it up. A bear did knock a can over one night during our stay, but we scared it off before it rolled the can away. The cans should be secured in an enclosure as I see some in the neighborhood are.

Loved the wide open main level and deck

This home is in a great location. There is a terrible smell in the house and it must be dealt with before anyone else stays.

This rental home is a hidden gem and is very spacious. A few updates for furniture & bedding would be nice but It has basics and wonderful river views. So nice nice to find a pet friendly home with walking areas. River was roaring & very relaxing to listen to while outside. The fireplace was cozy to warm up to even though we had trouble closing it up . Can’t wait to plan a return trip to this home in the summer!

Driveway & walkway were shear ice. We called to have someone come salt and/or sand & were told it’s not an amenity they offer. It was treacherous! Also, bring wood for the fireplace. Other than that property was comfortable and clean.

The house is only 8 mins drive from the White Mountain auto road. It's also very close to many trail heads, so it's ideal for anyone who wants to go hiking at White Mountain. Grocery stores and eateries are 10 mins away. The house itself is spacious, very clean and cozy. I can imagine it being a great spot in the winter when it's skiing season. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to visit White Mountain NH whether it's the summer or winter.

Our family enjoyed our stay in Glen. The house was spacious, beds were comfortable, swimming hole was a huge bonus as the kids and grandkids loved it. Location was close to Storyland, Mt. Washington Auto road, North Conway and many hiking trails. We highly recommend this home for a summer getaway.

The house was quite comfortable. We couldn't have picked a better location. I'd certainly rent again if I travel that way again.

The house was just what we were looking for and pretty close to wildcat which is why we rented this place. The main issue we had was with Vacasa who manages the property. The upstairs heat was not working and they were looking into someone to fix it. They called back saying they were still trying to fix it but never did. They also couldn’t answer some other basic questions on the house. The house was great but Vacasa sucks.

Pictures did not do the house justice. One of the nicest homes we have rented. Plenty of space. Clean. Well stocked. Highly recommend this home.

Overall, we had a good week at the Ski Haus. It’s large, the beds are comfortable, plenty of pillows and bedding. It has a large very well stocked kitchen (almost too much…no room for anything) and the location was great. It sits in a wooded area off the main highway 16, it’s pretty quiet, beautiful view out the back porch with a few neighbors down the road. We had about a foot of snow so didn’t venture to the creek below, but looks like it would be cool. It’s about 5-10 minutes north of Jackson, 8 minutes from Wildcat Ski resort, 20 minutes from Attitash, and 20 minutes to North Conway.
There were some disappointments during our stay, all of which can be fixed. First, when we arrived the entire house reeked of cigarette/cigar smoke……like someone was smoking inside for days/weeks. The first brochure we saw on the counter when we arrived said “absolutely NO smoking in the house or on the premises”…..so this was very surprising and disappointing. We got a scented candle and had wood fires which helped a bit. Second, the heating unit was not working properly. The first floor seemed to work and the basement heated very minimally. The 2nd floor didn’t go on at all. Vacasa, the management company, was helpful and did provide small space heaters for the upstairs bedrooms which was helpful but there was never any communication after about getting it fixed. We were lucky to have a relatively mild week, so the heat from the first floor and the fires helped heat the rest of the place. One other item which was more of a nuisance but really would have made it better…..the ceiling fixtures at the entrance to the house (mud room) & in the living room were out…..so when you come in at night, you can’t see anything, plus there was very limited lighting in the living room (the closest room) and a broken lamp sitting in on the fireplace wall. I requested to have them replace the light bulbs…..we would have done it if we had a ladder. They never came back to fix. If you arrive at night, this will be a problem until they fix.
A few recommendations for the owners besides fixing the Heater, Smoke smell and overhead lights: 1. Clear out (consolidate) at least one or two cabinets for visitors to keep their food. 2. Get more lighting in the house in general….it’s great during the day but a problem at night. If they fix/make the change, we would likely come back. This house has potential to be awesome!

The location was fantastic, but the house is a bit tired. Could use some updating and a deep clean!

Sweet house for two families. It met our minimum criteria (clean with comfortable beds) and more. Really nice main floor layout with open kitchen and attached living room and eating area. Really everything we needed was there. The basement rooms seemed a little musty but we did not use them - except for the 3rd bathroom there. You might want to know there is no yard area but there is a nice deck and a cool outside staircase down to a bridge that crosses a small creek to some paths in the woods. Looks like there are some neat swim holes for summer. We were xc skiing and the place was equal distance from great Glenn and Jackson.

Thanks so much for letting us stay at your lovely property! It was a little tough to find in the dark…. And getting at the keys to open the door was very rough (in the dark). I’d love to recommend “Kwikset” lock system. We had an absolute ball here & are already planning to return next year. Please note that the ice maker wasn’t working & the blinds in basement bedroom are all broken (before we arrived). We’re not complaining - just wanted to make you aware. THANK YOU!!!!!

We spent our 40th anniversary at the Ski Haus with our 3 adult children and we were all in awe of the house, the surrounding woods, the river nearby and all the amenities. We had plenty of room to spread out, sit at the beautiful kitchen table and look at nature and cook a special dinner. The living room was also perfect for a family movie and a warm fire in the amazing fireplace. We took family pictures in front of the rolling river that the outdoor stairway, bridge and walking path took us to. We had everything we needed for a perfect family getaway. The place was spotless and comfortable. We will definitely make a stay at this place a family tradition.

Great house and location for our trip, right between the Auto Road and great restaurants and shopping around North Conway. There is also a little bonus with the walk way down to the river behind the house. The only reason for not giving 5 stars for cleanliness is landscape related. Nothing an hour of weed wracking and trimming a few branches here and there wouldn't take care of. The inside of the house was perfect! We will definitely rent this house again if we are ever up that way again.

Very happy with our stay. Perfect location for hiking in the White Mountains. The walk to the river from the back porch is amazing. Management is super responsive.

loved our stay in Jackson! Minutes away from so many activities. The house was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for the family and pets. We were surprised to find a water hole stream that we could swim in just behind the house. The only thing I would suggest would be a little more detail about trash/recycling turning on water heater, laundry, etc. nothing that we couldn’t figure out but would have been nice to have details before hand.
Overall 5 stars! We highly recommend. We will be staying there again for sure.

Appreciated the great communication. The property was perfect. Good location to the trailhead and also dinner in Jackson afterwards.
The creek down the deck and outback was a hidden gem. Very happy with the property.

Let's begin with the group opinion. All agreed, we had a wonderful weekend. The house was ideal for this rather eclectic bunch. Princeton grad, retirees from teaching and military, folks still working. Oh, yeah...bikers! This place fit our needs and expectations ideally.

This was the cleanest VRBO we stayed in. Great location, there is a swimming hole 100ft from the deck. Would recommend sleep masks the upstairs bedrooms have skylights.

This is one of the nicest rentals we’ve ever stayed at. Communication with Vacasa was easy and prompt. The house welcomes you with its home-y late 90’s flair and has breathtaking views. You feel like being in a treehouse. Very comfortable beds, excellently stocked kitchen. It was a nice touch that little soaps and shampoo were provided. Everything was clean and well taken care of. We loved that we were able to bring our toddler and our dog, and felt right at home. There’s a loop-trail RIGHT off of the property along a little river. It was exactly what we needed to unwind.
Only constructive criticism: It would’ve been great to have a little booklet/information sheet about the rental (i.e. what to do with the trash/ things to do in the immediate area (like hiking trails etc.)/little insider tips and tricks).
We would definitely come back again!
Thanks for having us.
