Great Expectations West is a breathtaking 5-bedroom, 4-bathroom, oceanfront duplex on the beautiful beaches of Emerald Isle, and just steps away from having your toes in the sand! This amazing home boast three oceanfront bedrooms with gorgeous panoramic views from sunrise to sunsets, and all with their own private decks! Great Expectations is nestled right in the heart of Emerald Isle, making all of our amazing local shops, restaurants, and family-friendly activities just a short distance away. This house is equipped with high-speed wireless internet for your convenience. There are also five new "smart" TVs, new dishwasher, new washer/dryer, new mattress', new water heater, and a fully-equipped kitchen with all you could need and more! You will find a Keurig coffee maker, drink and wine cooler, a slow cooker, and a blender in addition to all of your basic kitchen appliances! The furnished decks are the perfect place to sip a morning coffee or an evening cocktail while you watch the sunrise and sunset over the rolling waves. Welcome to Great Expectations!

We had a great family week at the beach! The house was wonderful-exactly as shown in the pictures! We cooked in the kitchen which had everything we needed to make family dinners. The best part was the three levels of outdoor porches where we could spend time in smaller groups or if we needed a quiet moment.
The host was very responsive to our few questions and requests. All in all, five stars!

This was our first trip to Emerald Isle and we are hooked! The house was perfect for our group and the property manager (Tony) was super responsive and helpful. He even brought us dinner our first night bc we arrived too late for restaurants! The location is perfect. Quiet neighborhood and centrally located. The house has some age on it, but it’s well maintained and well appointed. We will be back!!

Nice home with lots of bedrooms. More seating space would be nice, but only because it was chilly outside. Lots of good decks. Need new frying pans.

Our family gathered at Great Expectations for part of a week in Sept 2023. The layout of 5 bedrooms was a perfect fit, and the view from all floors is perfect. Tony was an exceptional, attentive host. We had a bit of bad weather and Tony was so helpful protecting a few things outside. And he is very quick to respond to questions by text or will stop by if necessary We will be back, we had a great family vacation!

We booked this for our annual family/friends trip. Having not booked a large duplex before, we weren't sure how it would be. The duplex is exactly as described. It is beautiful, great location, easy access to the beach, comfortable beds, hot showers, great wifi, many TV's, cool AC and overall a great stay. Of note, the kitchen is stocked better than any place we have ever stayed.
Once inside, the property manager contact information was displayed in the event that we needed assistance (we didn't) but it was nice to have information available if we needed him.
We give this 5 STARS and plan to stay at Great Expectations West again in the near future.

When an excavator working next door accidentally severed the internet cable late one afternoon, Tony responded to my text and was onsite within the hour. He was able to facilitate Spectrum repairing the cable before noon the next day - awesome!

This was the best beachfront ever. The house was great for our girls trip. We will be trying to book this property again we all loved it.

The location is perfect and the house is very good. Very good mattresses, which is often not the case with beach rentals. The property manager was excellent to work with. Each of the bedrooms has vertical blinds and all are missing a significant number of vanes/slats so be prepared for lots of early morning light. Overall, we had a very good experience.

Really enjoyed our stay. It wasn’t exactly as advertised but the house is in the perfect location so that made it better. Would definitely book again.

Property was conveniently located on a quiet strip of beach. Beach was easy access. Nice covered porch with swing. Living area was large enough to accommodate family meals of 12+ adults and several children. Beds were comfortable, bedrooms spacious. Would rent again. Gas grill would be a nice upgrade.

We had to book this house last minute as there was complications with our reservation in another house. The host was very helpful and accommodating. The house is a well-kept, clean, well equipped and comfortable home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Emerald Isle.

Nice home on the beach!
We spent a week in Great Expectations at Emerald Isle. The house was perfect for our large family of 13. We had plenty of room to spread out. The kids loved the bunk room. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking, which we did each night. The beds are comfortable. Tony, the property manager, is super responsive and communicative. Overall we were very happy and would definitely rent this home again!

Came in to enjoy the beach and do some surf fishing and just relax and this house and location allows you to do just that. Close to the beach,
Close to the pier, close to shopping, and yet nothing feels like it’s on top of you. Love it and would totally come back again!!!

Great Vacation
My family and I enjoyed our stay here during our vacation to Emerald Isle. The location was wonderful and close to all restaurants and other attractions. The house was nice, although the bathrooms could use some updating. The bathrooms were also a little dirty when we arrived. But overall we enjoyed our stay and it is a nice property accurately fitting the description.

Perfect Beach Vacation House
We LOVED our stay at the Great Expectations house. The location was perfect and the house was super clean and comfortable for our group of kids, adults, and seniors. The hosts were incredibly responsive when a small issue came up. I highly recommend this home and will definitely stay here again if we are in the area!
