We were really happy with our stay. It rained all day and we enjoyed the well stocked games, pool table, darts, and fireplace.
The homeowners were friendly, easy to get ahold of, and answered all my questions.
We love the ski Hill. We came last year and snowboarded for one day and staff remembered us. Staff was very friendly.

We have stayed at this rental home twice. Once in the summer and this past February to ski. The Hideout is a great spot for families and this house is the best rental available. Plenty of beds for two families to get together!! Main floor equipped with plenty of games for all ages. Clean, updated, stylish.

The house was very clean, comfortable, and cute. My 4-year old loved all of the games available inside the house as well as all of the things to do around the neighborhood. The whole family came so my husband and I could attend a friend's wedding, and the house was very accommodating to all of our different schedules and needs. A lovely home.

Everything was as expected. Newly renovated, clean and conveniently located in the Hideout. My 1 and only issue was the King bed was too soft for me, I unfortunately need a more supportive mattress so I had to go sleep with my on in the bunkbed room. My husband had no problem though.

Immaculate cottage
This home ihas been totally refurbished and is immaculately clean. Everything you could possibly need is provided. The owners are very nice and responsive. We had some issues with the Hideout staff turning us away from some included amenities and eventually had to call and have the owner sort it out which he did very quickly. My family and I loved the house and explored the surrounding area finding homemade maple syrup and a place to buy bison meat! Five stars!!!!

Great spot, amazing host
The Hideout is a gem of a community, with two very nice sand beaches and a very helpful 24-hour staff. This cottage was just what our large family needed for a few days in the Poconos.
We have five boys ages 3 to 16 and they all fit comfortably in the bunk room, leaving a whole bedroom for our daughter, and we slept great in the main-floor bedroom which had plenty of room for the baby's pack and play.
The very large dinner table was perfect: Some friends of ours with an equally large family were staying at another VRBO a few miles away and they had no dinner table at all!
Paul and Fatima were extremely gracious, attentive, and flexible--would recommend to anyone!

Best Cottage in the Hideout
Our families have rented several properties in The Hideout and this was BY FAR our favorite. The pictures of Salty Box Cottage and the reviews of the owners do not do this rental justice.
First of all, the rental is impeccable. It’s so nicely designed, well laid out, and incredibly clean and tidy. (The high cleaning fee is worth it - especially because renters are not responsible for bringing linens and towels). The bedrooms were cute and comfortable, and the bunk bed room was a hit with our kiddos. (Each bunk bed had a trundle - which added to the excitement). The kitchen was well appointed and had all the basics, plus extra dishwasher pods, dish towels and sponges. We loved the basement game room - there were so many board games in addition to the pool table and dart board (which lights up - much to the delight of the little ones).
Paul and Valeria were AMAZING hosts. They were great at communicating prior to our check in, and were quick to respond to any questions or issues we had. They even sent someone over to help us with the fireplace in the main living space when we had trouble lighting it.
We booked The Hideout because we were interested in utilizing the Ski Hill and tubing run over Presidents Day weekend. Unfortunately, the tubing run and ski hill were closed for the majority of the weekend due to the recent warm temperatures and inability to produce snow on a large scale. They did open on the last day of our stay, and our hosts were gracious enough to let us stay in our rental longer so that we could take advantage of the community’s amenities.
In short, the Salty Box Cottage was perfect for our party of 8. We will absolutely be back, and if you are looking for a place to stay in the Hideout, this is THE BEST place to book!

Relaxation at the Salty Box!
My brothers and family friends spent a weekend at the Salty Box Cottage for a low key relaxing hang out. Paul and Fatima did not dissapoint with their cottage. We spent time by the fire pit out back, shooting pool, throwing darts at the illuminated cork dartboard, and hooking our PS5 up to the big screen TV downstairs. There was plenty to do for everyone without even leaving the house.
We didn't venture into the Hideouts Amenities, although there were badges left for us if we wanted to.
All in all, it was a very clean, well appointed vacation spot and I'd definitely consider going back in the future.

Great Getaway
My family and I were lucky enough to be the first renters of Paul and Fatima’s home in the Hideout community. Everything was just as shown in the pictures, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The owners were very responsive and easy to communicate with and even had the fire pit ready to go! During our stay we had a good bit of rain so playing pool as well as the games that were at the house was great. Thank you Paul and Fatima for making our stay enjoyable.
