Cabin is amazing private and a Million Dollar View! Make sure you drive a 4X4.

Loved the Bryson City house up in the mountains. Incredible view from the deck that we enjoyed our whole stay. Would highly recommend just for that reason, but the whole place was great. My boys loved the pool table and having their own space. It is very secluded so make sure if you need anything from Bryson city get it early. Round trip is over an hour from town. Overall great experience. Thanks

My husband I have been renting cabins in the mountains for over 20 years. This one was one of our all time favorites! Tastefully and comfortably furnished, with a well- equipped kitchen and luxury bedroom/bathroom.
The drive up to the cabin was no problem at, and the view and the privacy once you get there, is priceless!

This was the best mountain stay we have had! The property manager was nothing short of amazing! Always a text away and very accommodating! The cabin was amazing, spacious, clean and had the best views around! The guidebook that is sent to you before your stay has EVERYTHING covered! If we ever come back to this area I know where we will stay! Thank you for our Honey Bear Retreat!

I had wanted to escape to a cabin in the woods for years, but was always so hesitant because you never really know what you’re getting! With Honey Bear Retreat, you get EXACTLY what you think! This is one of the most breathtakingly gorgeous places I’ve been and my boyfriend (who had never been to the mountains before) was literally speechless when we got there! Laine was awesome to communicate with, so responsive to my many silly questions and checked in to make sure everything was as it should be. I’m so glad I paid attention to the suggestion of NOT arriving after dark the first time, as it is a bit of a challenge to get to if you aren’t familiar with the area. After a couple of times, my man was an old pro at navigating the twisty-turny roads. The drive is so beautiful, we didn’t care how long it took to get to town! My only hesitation is leaving such an honest review and NOT being able to book the cabin again when I want! The cabin itself is so comfortable and cozy, we loved sitting on the porch, lounging in the hot tub, playing pool- definitely a dream trip!

Clean. Host responsive. The roads in were a little rough at some points.

From the Mountain View to the cabin everything was great. Thank you for the suggestion to arrive in the day time. I don’t believe we would have found it in the dark. Also, leave a light on the porch if you are arriving after dark from the day’s events

We just spent a week at the cabin and loved every minute! The view is spectacular and the inside is as charming and comfortable as the pictures reflect. The drive up can be a bit daunting at first, but after 2 or 3 trips it’s a breeze. Do not hesitate to stay here!

We have stayed in this general area numerous times over the past ten years and Honey Bear Retreat was one of the best. The property was spotless, the host was friendly and accessible, and the views from the deck were incomparably stunning. The drive up was a bit nerve-wracking at first, but after a few trips you start to get used to it. We will be back.

Such a relaxing stay! Being at the top of a mountain really forces you to wind down. We truly enjoyed just hanging out around the property and never found ourselves bored during our vacation from our hectic lifestyles. We had everything we could possibly need and any adventures were close by. The hike in the subdivision was super cute too-Little bench swing by a water fountain! Laine was super accommodating, kind and quick to reply. We came in September and easily commuted up and down the mountain with our car even when feeling a little sketchy due to steepness, but I could not imagine doing it in any snowy or icy conditions!
Our only complaint was the kitchen island was not super functional, the step trash can didn't work so we left the top off, the grill could use a deep clean due to the char built up it really didn't function well and the dryer needed to be ran on several cycles to get anything fully dry. But those were all so minor compared to how amazing our trip and the cabin was overall!

My husband, adult son and I went for 3 nights. The house was exactly like pictured. The view from the deck was awesome. We enjoyed the hot tub, pool table and putterball. It was secluded but easy to get to Bryson City to ride the train and go see the waterfalls at Deep Creek. Laine was always quick to answer any question that I had. The beds were very comfortable and the house was very clean. It even had a hair dryer that wasn't listed in the amenities. Our family enjoyed spending quality time together at this house.

This was probably the cleanest rental house we have ever stayed in. It had everything we needed.
Very quiet and relaxing! The road up to the house really needs some TLC.

It was a nice and clean property. Plenty to do for a group of guys even if we didn’t head into town. Enjoyed the weekend very much.

Stayed for a week and loved it. Even with several days of intermittent clouds and thunderstorms the views from the deck were stunning. Exactly what my minds eye thought of when I think of the Smoky Mountains. The drive up and down was like riding a bike. First day was the most challenging. The home is very clean and comfortable. The wife and I played our first game of pool in about 30 years! If you have time, the trail down to the waterfall was fun little hike. We found the location perfect in privacy and quietness. A bit rural (we liked it), but close enough to visit nearby cities and the Park. Laine was a quick responder to a question I had and was available if needed. We enjoyed our stay at HBR. We would stay again and would recommend it if you're looking for a place near Bryson City in the Smokys. .

We vacation to Western NC every year and this cabin did not disappoint. The owners provided everything that was needed and it was extremely clean. The beds were beyond comfortable. The communication was great and more than enough information was provided. The views were fantastic even during the rain storms. We literally were in the clouds most of the week. Gaming items provided made it more entertaining on the days that we had to stay in due to weather. The only thing I would warn others about would be the drive. It was a little harsh but we made it. We HIGHLY recommend Honey Bear Retreat cabin. Thanks Laine and Micah!!!

Everything was nice. It did take forever to get to off the main road. Would have been nice also to have more option on the satellite tv, could not watch any National News Network.

This cabin is awesome with a great view of the mountains! We were looking for a cabin with seclusion and this place was just what we were looking for, you might see a car or two drive past during the day. The cabin was very clean and the furnature is comfortable. The bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything that you would need during your stay, all you need to bring is your groceries. The owner was prompt in answering any questions that we had during our stay. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a quiet getaway!

Awesome place to stay, definitely follow the instructions provided by the host and do not arrive for the first time at night like we did. Plenty of room for everyone with super comfortable beds and beautiful views.

Great cabin everything was in good working order. Kitchen had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend making the drive during the daylight and use caution. Roads aren’t bad but there is some places with limited visibility. We would definitely stay again.

Wow, how do I even put into words how amazing Laine and Honey Bear Retreat was?!?!
From the time we booked until the time we checked out, Laine was there every step of the way. Sending much appreciated reminders, and communicating EVERY detail necessary!
However, the thing that impressed me most was that Laine took the initiative to ensure our safe arrival to Honey Bear retreat. My wife and I were taking a much needed trip without the kiddos and while we couldn’t wait to get there we also happened to book just after the coldest weekend of 2022. With that cold came ice, snow, and other issues, but before we even headed that way Laine reached out and worked with us to ensure that our trip would be a safe one and that our stay would be an unforgettable experience. It was an extra step that she didn’t have to take, but one that was greatly appreciated! Laine is a rockstar and you should absolutely book her property!
As for Honey Bear retreat, the pictures don’t even do it justice. This place is PERFECT! A beautiful setting for a romantic getaway. Secluded enough that you will have all the privacy you desire, but without feeling like you’re alone in the mountains with no one around for miles.
The location is wonderful, atop the mountain so be prepared with the right vehicle. But the beautiful thing is you are a 25 minute drive from Bryson City and a 40 minute drive from Cherokee, which both towns have lots of cool shopping areas and places to just walk around. Bryson City had great food and is a must visit!
Again, we can’t say enough about our experience and Laine is a big reason why!

We rented this cabin for a long overdue family vaca and it was perfect! The cabin had a wonderful view, and the inside was decorated very well and was very cozy! The second day the power had went out and our host addressed the issue very quickly and explained tree had fallen on power lines and would keep us updated! And she did just that! The host was very nice, efficient, and personable! The cabin was out in the middle of nowhere and it was glorious! We had a wonderful time at this little gem! We would most definitely rent from these owners again!

From the beginning, getting the reservation to the end of our trip, everything was perfect. It was our first time in the area, so I had some questions for our host, Laine. Her recommendations were exactly what we were looking for. From where to eat and places to visit. The cabin was as described if not better! Very clean, beautiful inside and the view was perfect. We will be back for a longer stay. Thanks so much.

We had a great time. A lot of attractions close by. The sunset off of the back deck was the most beautiful I've ever seen !!

The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. The views from the deck were stunning and Laine was very easy to reach for questions before and during our stay. The hot tub was awesome after a day of hiking, the kitchen was perfectly stocked with every utensil needed. The drive up the mountain is an adventure in and of itself but was eaasily done in a FWD SUV. I would highly recommend this cabin and will stay again in the future.

Wonderful home. Tough drive up the mountain. But worth it. The house is exceptional. Looking forward to visiting again.

The views from this cabin are absolutely Heavenly!! Pictures don’t do it justice. And the cabin was beautiful and stocked with everything you need for your stay. It was spotless when we got there. You can tell it’s well taken care of by the owners and their housekeepers. My family has stayed in many cabins all over the country, and I have met many nice hosts. But Laine is truly the most wonderful host I’ve ever dealt with. She responds to messages, texts and calls quickly. She did everything she could to make our stay a happy one. I highly recommend this cabin to couples and families. You won’t be disappointed!
