I love being able to walk out the condo and the sand is right there. Never can get tired of the amazing view

Vacasa is completely incompetent. This home was in a beautiful location but is obscenely overpriced considering the dated condition of the home and furnishings and utter lack of property management. The unit was not cleaned well before arrival. There were huge cobwebs... sand in the bed and it was clear it had not been vacuumed in the living rooms. It's a bit unnerving to crawl into bed with sand from the last occupants. I reported this to Vacasa and twice we never heard from them again. The interior door locks are broken. Our son was locked in his upstairs bedroom for hours. Aside from this being an obvious safety issue, we had plans for the day. After waiting two hours for maintenance we coached him through the door on how to remove door from hinges. Finally heard from maintenance after we removed the door. We told him we removed the door and he just said "Oh, ok then you're good" They never came to repair the knob. We had to prop the door open because if it closed, it would lock from the inside. Reported lack of cleaning and they told us they would send housekeeping. Never heard from them again. This is seriously, the absolute worst vacation rental company I've ever seen. They won't give you local phone numbers so you can talk to people in the Lake Tahoe office. Instead you are forced to text a national number where it's clear that the operator is reading from canned scripts. You're told they will "open a ticket" for issues... but nothing ever happens. Additionally, before you are allowed access to the home, they make you drive 7 (round trip) miles out of the way to initial some rules in person. That was annoying after a long drive and car full of groceries. That can be done electronically. I've never had a vacation rental make you show up to an office in person. Everything is electronic or done by email now. The only reason we gave this 2-stars is the lakefront location. But the owner really needs to invest some money into this property and find a new management company. The main picture window in the living room behind the wood stove has broken seals - you can barely see the lake through it and it's the main view of the lake! The interior is dated, doesn't feel clean (carpet) and needs more updates than a coat of paint to warrant the price. Lakeland Village is a great spot, but rent one of the properties managed by the on-site company instead of Vacasa. We rent vacation properties a lot and have never left a negative review. We will go out of our way to make sure I never rent a property from them again. This experience was a complete rip off. I hope the owner makes improvements because it's a terrific location but the interior feels old and unloved.
